Chapter seventeen
That had to be it, Yuta thought with growing dread.
He must be in trouble for witnessing something he shouldn't have. A lowly slave who had watched the master of the castle too intimately.
"M-my name is Yuta," he managed to stammer, his throat dry with fear. "My lord, I-I'm very sorry for staring at you that day."
Yuta. His name was Yuta, the word itself branding into Elrien's soul like a mark.
He was also confused, his red eyes burned into Yuta's as he asked sharply, "What are you talking about?"
"I swear it wasn't intentional! I was lost!" Yuta cried, unwanted tears threatening to spill down his cheeks. The sight of those tears trailing down his pale skin made Elrien's hands twitch. When Elrien continued to stare at him with that intense gaze, Yuta asked desperately with confusion, "Were you not talking about that time at the lake?"
