'Fuck the timeline I can't let an innocent old man die.'
Tristain took a deep breath as he decided. He couldn't let someone die in front of him, no matter its necessity for Spiderman's origin.
He didn't need Uncle Ben's death also eating at his consciousness.
His only option was to accept being a hero and hope for some powers, seeing as there was a large chance that the robber could simply kill them both.
[Do you want to be a Hero or a Villain?]
Tristain stared at the prompt and cursed. 'Fuck it! There's no way I can live a normal life after finding myself in the Marvel universe, might as well do some good.'
With his mind made, he thought of selecting the hero option and the vision in front of him changed.
He suddenly felt like something was entering his body.
Not only his body, but even his soul seemed to be going through some kind of modification, like power was getting pushed into it.
The screen in front of him also changed.
[You have chosen the hero path.]
[Your body and soul have gone through a modification. Your overall power has greatly increased.]
There were more prompts besides these two, but Tristain didn't have time to read through them.
He looked at the masked man who was just about to run straight into Uncle ben. Approximately in the next 5 seconds, Uncle Ben was going to lose his life.
That wouldn't happen, he would make it not happen
He was feeling invincible, like he was on kilograms of steroids.
The red light was still on and running on the streets was no different than having a death wish, but Tristain was sure that cars wouldn't be an obstacle.
His perception slowed as he took off, the cement cracking slightly behind his feet.
Everything was moving in slow motion, and he could see the masked man colliding with Uncle Ben.
A gun fell from the pocket of the masked man.
Wind rushed past Tristain, ruffling his black hair as he crossed the street. He was just a second away from the masked man and Uncle Ben now.
Both Uncle Ben and the masked man went after the fallen gun.
Before the masked man could pick up the gun, Tristain reached him and threw a punch.
Time started flowing normally as the masked man slammed into the wall, the sound of his jaw breaking and bricks falling came followed by a gurgle.
'Holy shit.'
He hadn't hit the lad at full force, and he was painting the wall in red slightly.
'Hopefully you're not dead,' Tristain thought, taking a deep breath.
"Dear god kid, are you okay?"
He looked back as he felt a hand on his shoulders. Uncle Ben had picked up the gun safely and was now looking at him with concern.
There was also a tinge of shock in his eyes as he couldn't fathom where Alex had come from suddenly.
"I'm fine."
"Take your time if you need it. Thank you really". Uncle Ben said, patting his back and glancing at the half dead masked man. "The police should be here soon."
It was then that Tristain noticed that a crowd had already gathered around them.
Some people were taking photos, some whispering among each other and there were some that had already called the police.
'I need to dip.' He thought, If the police were getting involved, they would surely call his mother as he was still underaged.
Tristain was sure that his mother wouldn't take him fighting a criminal with a smile on her face. Maybe there would be a smile, but it would not be a kind one.
As he was thinking that someone broke through the crowd.
"Uncle Ben!"
"Let me get past!"
"That's my uncle there!"
A teenager in a hoodie somehow struggled through the crowd and came out at the front. There was a tearful expression on his pale face.
But seeing his uncle without any injuries, he took a sigh of relief.
"Uncle Ben, are you okay? What happened here?" He asked with a hint of relief.
"I'm fine. This young man here saved me." Uncle Ben pointed at the masked man first, then at Tristain.
But Peter just gave a glance at Tristain. His whole focus was on the masked man, his expression changing to one of dread, recognizing that the masked man was someone who he could have caught back in the deli.
On the other hand, Tristain was rubbing his nose and feeling good after saving Uncle Ben and watching their tearful reunion.
He had decided to meet him later as they go to the same high school but he had never imagined that their first meeting would be like this.
He was going to greet Peter but before he could do so, he heard the sound of police sirens.
So he used the Joestar technique and dipped.
