Chapter 9 - Hate Yourself But Do Everything To Survive

At this moment, Oak hated himself.

Yes, he hated himself for being a coward.

Even if those main characters were being constantly chased around by the enemies, they would at least not be killed in such a way.

After all, if he had rejected Arvin. Arvin would take some time to return to the sect.

Arvin couldn't send another Third rank or even a second rank to fight him. And, with his strength, he had a chance to fight back against a first rank without even entering the first rank.

This would get attention from the sect, which meant Arvin wouldn't make his next move so easily.

As for his parents, it would be dangerous.

But as long as he could send a message to his parents on time to change their location, they would only need to survive until he was strong enough to face these people.

He didn't need to be a coward. But he chose to be a coward. Putting his life in the hands of others.

He certainly hated Arvin with a passion, but he hated himself even more for being a coward.

'If I survive this, I will never become a coward. Even if I die, at least I will die fighting.'

This oath wasn't just for the future. While in mid-air, he sensed the eagle raising its paw and striking him.

He put his hand inside the Storage Bag and took out a sword. When it was inside the bag, it was small, but when it came out, it instantly reached the length of one meter.

He saw a branch over him, raised his hand, and caught it. He pulled himself onto the branch and got over it.

He steadily landed on the branch and stared at the eagle. Because his position was changed, the eagle's claw struck the ground.

It didn't catch its prey, which only made it angrier.

Oak caught the hilt of his sword tightly and crouched down. He put all of his Internal Strength in his legs and dashed forward.

Crack!

He put so much force in his kick that it tore apart a thick branch. His body leaped forward at a very fast pace.

When the eagle saw his action, it sneered. Any beast that had reached Fourth Rank had a certain level of intelligence, just like humans.

They wouldn't speak at this stage, but they were still intelligent enough to understand the situation.

It clearly knew that Oak was courting his death.

It simply raised its wing and tried to slap him down like a mosquito.

[Quick Draw]

Oak unsheathed his sword with all of his strength and swung it down. His sword was curved towards the eagle's wing.

Bang!

But when it collided, several cracks appeared on the edge of his sword.

A Basic Sword was destroyed just by colliding with the eagle's wing. Oak knew this would happen.

After all, he wasn't a dumb person, but how could he give up in the face of death?

'I don't want to die for the second time, not now at least.'

When he thought that, his eyes fell on the pond, and an idea emerged in his mind.

'Wait! I can enter the pond.'

With this thought, he pushed the sword downward with all of his strength. It almost broke the sword, but since the eagle's wing was so strong, it managed to remain stable.

This gave him more than enough force to push himself up. He quickly landed on the Eagle's Wing.

At this moment, the eagle released its flame on its wings.

Oak didn't know what was happening, but at this moment, he seemed to have seen the flames rising from its feather.

Facing such a desperate situation, he listened to his guts and jumped, leaving his shoes on the eagle's wing.

He jumped with all of his strength, but he was still several meters away from the pond, and he couldn't just jump again.

Because the moment the eagle realized what it was doing, it instantly turned around and flapped its wings.

When Oak landed on the ground, he curled himself and rolled a few times before stopping on his legs and standing up.

He did it and continued running forward, only to realize something.

Eagles could swim in the water. He had already attracted so much hatred from the eagle. Why wouldn't it just swim down and kill him?

So, why was he running towards the pond?

Maybe at this moment, Oak accepted his death while still rejecting it at the same time.

Unconsciously, Oak didn't even realize he had successfully awakened the Sixth Sense.

His body kept running forward despite what he was thinking at the moment.

As if his legs had their mind.

They didn't stop running, and the eagle?

It had already caught up.

Except it didn't know the science.

While Science might not be a dominant force in this world, it still exists. From the fact that Oak was able to create his technique following his knowledge from previous worlds and those techniques proved this point.

When the eagle flew past him and swept in front of him, it didn't realize that it flew too fast.

So fast that the pressure generated by its momentum created such a powerful wind pressure that it flung Oak above the eagle and towards the pond.

It was also thanks to the fact that Oak was running towards the pond, and the eagle was also moving in a similar direction.

When Eagle appeared in its position, it didn't see Oak. It was confused.

It clearly saw Oak and chased after him. It even tried to outrun him and appear in front of him.

So, why did this human disappear?

It was confused, especially its eyes, which showed humane confusion.

But it was a monster beast after all. It had great sensory abilities. When it came out of confusion, it instantly sensed Oak flying towards the pond.

It showed a strange panic in its eyes and rushed towards him.

It flew into the air and dived towards Oak. It came down with extreme speed, and its claws pointed at Oak.

'Huh? Am I seeing this right? It's panicking. Why is it panicking? It's already in front of me. It can kill me with a single stomp.'

'So, why? Why? WHY?'

Oak screamed in his mind, hoping to come up with an answer.

Unfortunately, he couldn't. The only thing he could do was to let his body act on its own.

It raised the sword. His Martial Spirit began to extract the Internal Strength from his cells.

Due to the Sixth Sense, he was capable of doing this within the shortest interval.

Before the eagle's claw reached him, he had already swung his sword upward.

He knew this would result in a weaker strike. He knew his Internal Strength wasn't enough.

But he wasn't just going to give up.

Thud! Crack!

The eagle's claw struck his sword, broke it into two, and struck his chest. It struck with so much force that Oak coughed out blood on the spot, but his body didn't get caught by the claw; instead dived into the pond.

Because Oak flew too fast, his back pierced through water, causing less damage to his body, and he dived deep.

At this moment, the eagle flapped its wings and stopped itself from entering the water.

Its body began releasing Purple Flames widely. Some of the purple flames even touched the water, but it got extinguished immediately.

This angered the eagle even more. It raised its head and instantly sensed two humans running away from its territory.

They were running too slowly.

Owen and Rocks were so scared by the sudden chase of that eagle that they couldn't even move.

Its Aura was that powerful.

When it chased toward Oak, they didn't realize why it moved away. They just ran.

They just wanted to get away, and so they ran like crazy.

Unfortunately, everything happened too fast.

From the moment Oak was thrown towards the eagle to the moment Oak entered the pond, only a minute had passed.

In such a short time, they possibly couldn't run far away, especially without any Internal Strength.

Even Oak needed at least ten seconds to generate enough Internal Strength. They would take even more.

The eagle sensed their presence and flew above them.

It dived.

Owen and Rocks didn't even know the eagle was coming down. It moved so fast that while they were still running, Owen's head was chomped by the eagle.

Rocks didn't even realize it. It only felt a strong wing next to him. Before his head turned to the side, the eagle had rushed up and dived in an exact position, taking off Rocks' head.

Thud! Thud!

Two heads entered the eagle's belly while two bodies fell on the ground.

The eagle ignored their bodies and rushed toward the pond. It didn't enter the pond; instead landed next to it.

Its eyes fell on the pond, and they showed a strong hatred.
