Emelia busied herself with collecting the empty glasses on the table, using the task as an excuse not to engage.
Her ears, however, remained alert—listening to every word, every laugh, every little sigh Sena gave in Sehyun's direction.
Minerva, for her part, seemed to notice the shift in atmosphere. Though not as open about it as Sena, her glances at Sehyun grew increasingly curious and uncertain.
It was clear that she didn't quite know how to feel about the alpha's presence or about the way her best friend was swooning so openly in front of a stranger.
"I didn't know alphas could be this polite."
Minerva muttered under her breath to Sena, who giggled and nodded in agreement.
"He's not like the ones back at school. You can tell he's older, more refined… You know?" Sena whispered back, clearly impressed.
Emelia's jaw clenched. She didn't want to interfere, not unless it became necessary. But she was growing more anxious by the second.
