"Help? How can you help me?" Amenadiel asked, finally feeling hope.
Becoming mortal... had been the toughest trial his Father had ever put him through.
Amenadiel had started to reconsider whether, instead of a trial, it had actually been a punishment.
"Now I'm a Fallen Angel, there's no remedy for that..." Amenadiel glanced sideways at Lucifer.
Lucifer had been the first Fallen Angel, and had remained so for a long time.
There was no coming back once you became a Fallen.
"Actually, it's easy." Satoru smiled, amused.
Amenadiel moved a little closer, giving him his full attention.
Lucifer was also interested in listening, though he tried to hide it.
"It's not that you were punished, Amenadiel. You didn't lose your wings because God rejected you... You lost them because you lost yourself."
Satoru crossed his legs, sitting in the armchair.
"You used to serve as an agent of God. You believed you understood God's Plan better than anyone. But you started acting out of pride, out of ego, and you went astray."
Satoru knew better than anyone the current situation Amenadiel was in.
In his past life, when he watched the Lucifer series, Amenadiel used to be his favorite character.
Amenadiel was a man who punished himself through guilt and remorse.
He had strayed from his purpose, losing connection with himself and with his divine source.
All caused by a crisis of faith, both in God and in himself.
But he finally overcame it, and became God's successor.
"I agree with that. You've got a lot of ego, brother..." Lucifer nodded.
Amenadiel remained silent, listening, though he didn't like what he was hearing.
"Why does Father allow Lucifer to stay on Earth?"
"Why doesn't He intervene when injustice happens?"
"Why do I, His most faithful son, suffer and get ignored?"
Satoru spoke from Amenadiel's perspective.
Contrary to how it seemed, he wasn't mocking him.
"You began to doubt God's Plan and, at the same time, yourself."
"I don't understand where you're going with this." Amenadiel's tone turned more serious, harsher.
Satoru realized Amenadiel was getting angry, but he didn't care and decided to continue.
If he didn't understand his words, if he got angry at them, it would only prove his point even more.
"You let yourself be carried away by arrogance. You believed that, being God's firstborn, you had the right to impose your vision of order."
"You think you're above humans."
"You judge Lucifer and others harshly, always believing you're right."
"And you impose your will on others even when it goes against free will."
Amenadiel frowned, clenching his fists tightly.
Noticing this, Lucifer looked at the situation with concern.
"Brother..." Lucifer was about to intervene.
But...
"You're right." Amenadiel admitted Satoru was right, sitting down across from him.
Satoru was surprised to see that Amenadiel agreed with him.
But despite his surprise, he didn't stay quiet for long.
"You realized it and, unconsciously, rejected your divinity because you didn't feel worthy of it."
Amenadiel stared at him, paying attention to every word.
"And how do I fix it...?"
"Your inner state has stopped reflecting the angelic nature. As I said, you don't feel worthy of it and unconsciously rejected it. You must come to see yourself as worthy again, and your problem will solve itself."
"Hold on a second, what the hell is this 'inner state' thing?" Lucifer joined the conversation, intrigued.
Satoru looked at him with an amused smile.
Lucifer had been the most affected by it throughout his long life.
It was curious and ironic that he didn't even know the concept.
For example, Lucifer saw himself as a demon, a traitor, all because of his rebellion.
Because of that, he got his demon face, a reflection of his inner state.
At the same time, although it hadn't happened yet, Lucifer would lose his demon face once he realized he was in love with Detective Decker.
His inner state would reflect his angelic nature again, and he would regain his wings.
"The inner state is a set of emotions, beliefs, thoughts, and level of consciousness that a person has at a given moment."
"The external reflects the internal..." Amenadiel murmured to himself, realizing.
"Exactly. What you are inside creates what you manifest on the outside. That's why your connection with the divine was blocked. God has never punished you."
Amenadiel smiled upon hearing that.
Knowing that his Father hadn't punished him was the best news he had ever received.
He had finally realized that his Father wasn't disappointed in him.
He was disappointed in himself.
"Now I just have to figure out how to be at peace with myself, how to fix my self-imposed punishment."
Amenadiel kept talking to himself.
"You must let go of judgment. Accept humans as equals. And accept that you don't have all the answers. Only then will you begin to heal within."
Amenadiel stood up upon hearing that.
"You're very wise for being so young, nephew."
Satoru scoffed in amusement upon hearing that.
If he didn't already know his situation in advance, he could never have helped him.
He didn't consider himself wise at all.
He just used his knowledge to his advantage.
"I believed for a long time that Father had abandoned me, but I finally understand He never did. I abandoned myself."
Amenadiel finally understood that God hadn't punished or banished him from Heaven.
Because of this, he realized he had been about to commit an unforgivable sin.
His mother, the Goddess, planned to return to Heaven and confront her husband, God, and Amenadiel had agreed just so he could return home, to the Silver City.
Amenadiel felt he had to hurry and stop her.
Because his mother planned to destroy Lucifer's home, Lux, so he would return to Heaven with them.
"Lucifer, we must stop Mother immediately..."
Lucifer looked at his brother, confused.
Amenadiel quickly explained the situation to him.
For the first time, Satoru saw Lucifer truly angry. His eyes turned red as he began arguing with Amenadiel.
"Mother just wants to return home with her children! She doesn't think she's doing anything wrong, Luci! We must make her understand that her actions are wrong, even if her motivation isn't!"
Lucifer scoffed, irritated at Amenadiel's words.
"Now that your faith in Father is back, you're even more annoying than before, brother. I won't delay it any longer. I'll send Mother back to Hell, whether she wants it or not."
Thousands of years ago, when God had just started His new project—humanity—He began to drift apart from His wife and children.
Because of this, the Goddess began to despise humans and wished for their downfall.
Shortly after Lucifer's rebellion, when God wanted to destroy him for his betrayal, the Goddess managed to convince Him to only banish him to Hell, saving his life.
When that happened, the Goddess's hatred toward humans intensified, causing her to unleash floods and plagues, outraged by the time and effort her husband devoted to His creation instead of to her and their children.
For this reason, God decided to cast her into Hell, banishing her from Heaven and appointing Lucifer as her jailer.
Lucifer, believing his mother remained indifferent when he was cast out of Heaven, ordered Mazikeen to torture her.
Thousands of years later, five years after Lucifer abandoned Hell to live on Earth, the Goddess was able to use her limited strength to escape from Hell and come to Earth.
Satoru had completely forgotten about the Goddess's presence on Earth.
He remembered that the Goddess, in the body of Charlotte Richards, planned to demolish Lux with C4, though in the end she couldn't do it.
Because of this, she decided to destroy the one thing keeping Lucifer on Earth: Detective Chloe Decker.
Realizing this, Lucifer immediately set out to find her.
Satoru said goodbye and left when Amenadiel decided to go look for his mother.
Meanwhile, Satoru also decided to return home.
He had already fulfilled his goal.
He didn't plan to return to this universe for a long time.
