Chapter 18 - Just Some Time And Connections

In an inn by the border between the Nightshade Nook Pack and the Silver Summit Pack, a man dressed in black sat down outside the house in an open shade in the lawn. A girl dressed in navy blue turtle neck body con dress was sitting opposite him and staring at his hands which contained a jade cube.

"Hand it over already would you, I've already kept my end of the deal, just fulfil yours now." Isla said as she looked at the man.

"Have you, we had a deal, I help you find what you're looking for and in return you help me find who I'm looking for. But you can't call out any progress, you haven't even found a single clue on her have you. It would be undoubtedly a cheat for me if I hand this over when I haven't seen a progress." He replied her with a calm expression as he controlled the cube in his hands using magic while she folded her palm in anger.

She sighed, letting go off her boiling anger as she took a sip of the tea on the table. "I promised to fulfil that, I just need time to pull some connections together, no fears, I'll definitely find who you're looking for." She said trying to convince him.

He lets off a cold laugh, the kind which doesn't send fear, but rather creates tension in ones mind. "Time huh", he saida before continuing, "You can have that, as well as we can both be patient with each other".

Isla smiles, moving her hand forward a bit while his eyes doesn't even drop down from his hood. "Glad you understand. It'll be much better if I can have the cube now, that way, it'll be much easier to get some connections, works for both of us."

"Well, here's how it's gonna work, I'll hold onto this, just before you deal with your end of the bargain. That way I think no one gets cheated." He replies her.

She frowns in frustration, seems like she wouldn't be having the blood anytime soon, and so much that ghost would have to wait a bit longer.

The man stands up, not bothering with her silence as he left the inn, leaving her to think of the possible solution to the situation as she was more affected by it. He disappears into the wood's, using his stealth skill as a cover.

Isla face immediately turned red with anger as she smashed a glass cup on the ground shattering it into pieces. The inn keeper immediately came down hearing the sound of the broken cup.

Meeting the angry look on Isla's face, it was easy to know the cup smashing was no mistake, but she still couldn't summon the courage to question the daughter of the Beta of one of the most prestigious pack in the realm, except if she doesn't want to continue working.

Isla being kind enough, dropped a golden ring on the table and left getting onto her motorcycle and driving off. The inn keeper immediately picked up the ring and examined, finding it authentic quality he smiled, slipping the rind into his pocket.

"Wouldn't hurt to break a few more.* He said as he climbed back upstairs.

Meanwhile Isla had arrived at the gate of the silver summit pack, using her palm print to open the gate before getting in. She drive her motorcycle all the way down to them

Stone family mansion, carefully parking it and entering into the living room.

"You took quite the time with your ride." Robert said as she entered into the living room.

She smiles warmly, exuding a calm atmosphere with elegance, "Well, the moon was quite beautiful today, thought i could enjoy the view.

Her father chuckles, looking outside for a minute and then back at her as she came sitting on the sofa beside him.

"Your sister has been gone for half a month now, she rarely calls." He says.

"Well dad, probably she's occupied, she always has things to be busy with wherever she goes anyway." Isla said in a calm and gentle manner.

"She never loves staying here anyway." Robert replies.

Isla smirks in her heart, in her heart she was quite pleased with Paisley's seemingly unfilial behaviour, if her father could develope a bad impression on her, things would work out more easily with her plan.

"Don't worry dad, she just needs some time to recover herself." She says to him.

Robert smiles understandably, proud of his daughter's wise and considerate spirit, or maybe so he thought. His hands went out, reaching her shoulder as he patted them before standing up.

"You should go up know, it's not good for a lady to stay up late at night, even though we're not humans." He said before going into the kitchen.

She nodded, before leaving the living room as she climbed up the stairs. She got into her room as she sat down on the bed, her face showing signs of distress as she held her chin with her hand with her elbow rested in her knee.

This was a bad situation for her, she had to fulfill the Ghost's order or she might not get what she wants from him. Now she has her stepsister's blood right before her eyes but she can't have them in her hands, such an effort on collecting that blood couldn't possibly be wasted. But still, the conditions on having grasp of the blood seems hard to meet, in this day now, finding someone with only a single painting of the person seems hard, also who knows if the person had already moved to the human realm, after all, supernaturals paying visit and even residing in the human realm wasn't strange any longer.

Her mind raced as she tried thinking of a quick solutions to achieve her goal which was at stake. She picked up her phone, dialing a number and waiting for the person to pick up. After multiple rings, the calm was still left unanswered, she throws the phone back on the bed, taking off her clothes and going into the bathroom to take a bath. Just as she turned on the shower, her phone on the bed made a beep sound as a message seemed to come in.

After having a bath, she came out with her bathrobe on as she sat on the bed. She looked back and saw the message notification on the phone. She opened it and her eyes met the u familiar sender's icon.

But the strings of words seemed to be what drew her attention more, more like he was avoiding her, or maybe he really has gotten too busy enough to answer her phone call.

"Call tomorrow huh", she murmured as she threw the phone back on the bed before walking to the wardrobe and taking out her pajamas before putting them on. She threw herself onto the bed, after all the situation at hand, she couldn't possibly think of any alternative solution but can only rely solely on the person she had phoned few minutes ago. Sleeping at this moment was very much needed, so she couldn't bother to remain awake as she would likely have a long day tomorrow.

"Dear sister, too bad you're going to loose everything either way." She said with a dangerous smirk before turning off the bed lamp.
