Andy's house was massively huge. They pulled down the quarter mile driveway passing tennis courts, a putting green, and a basketball court. There were tall trees lining both sides of the drive.
"Your house is a mansion!" Eve exclaimed from the backseat.
Terri chanced a glance at Andy. His face seemed distraught. Terri looked back at Eve. She was glued to the window and had her mouth hanging open. Her eyes were wide.
Terri felt so out of place. Not only did she ride here in an H3, this was not a house, but a mansion as Eve pointed out. Terri ran her hands over her jeans in her lap. She was definitely under dressed and now nervous. Eve and Phil had talked nonstop the entire drive. Andy and her had made quick responses if asked something. They were eyeing each other nervously.
Her parents lived in a small 2 bedroom home in southern Indiana. They owned a small, old car and a Chrysler mini van that was also old and didn't shift very well. She was out of her league here.
"Mom made snacks before she left for the hospital, so just tell me when you get hungry." Andy stated. He made a quick glance in Terri's direction. He seemed even more nervous since Eve said his house is a mansion.
Andy pulled up outside the long garage attached to the house. Terri counted the garage doors there were 5.
Phil opened the door to get out. "Eve and I will grab our stuff and head to the den. I'm sure you want to show Terri around." He told Andy.
Andy nodded.
Eve was pulled out by Phil. "I want a tour too." Terri heard her say.
"I'll give you a tour later on. Just let them be for now." Phil said as he shut the door.
Andy opened one of the garage doors and pulled into the garage. Terri had noticed Phil and Eve walk toward another huge building close by.
"That's where I keep my toys." Andy told her pointing over at the building.
Terri thought it looked big enough to hold a yacht. "What kind of toys?" Terri asked with raised eyebrows. She couldn't image someone having enough toys to fill that huge building.
Andy chuckled. "Well," he ran his hand through his hair getting out of the hummer. "My dirt bike, 4 wheelers, mudding truck, snow mobile, and the boat."
Terri looked around the garage. There was a mustang convertible, Porsche, Viper, and an empty space. Terri's eyes grew wider with each vehicle.
"Mom dropped Dad off today. He drinks when he golfs." Andy told her. He pulled her bag and laptop out of the back. Then, he started heading toward a door at the very end of the garage.
Terri grabbed her purse and got out of the hummer. She followed him quietly. She wasn't sure if he wanted a response to that or if he really even realized what he had said.
Andy opened the door and waved Terri to enter before him. He was certainly a gentleman. Terri looked at the huge kitchen island before her. The countertops were white with gray accents and beautiful. The kitchen looked homey and smelled of vanilla and cookies.
Andy walked over to an island and put Terri's bag and laptop down. "This is the kitchen. I hate to confess this, but I love to cook." Andy said with a grin looking down to the floor.
Terri was surprised by this. She just nodded and smiled at him. "Your home is beautiful. "
"The formal living room and dining rooms are this way." Andy began to walk through the kitchen toward what Terri thought was the front of the house. The space opened up to beautiful white crisp walls and expensive looking furniture. There was a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. "My parents really only use these spaces to entertain business associates and important guests." He continued to walk past the rooms.
Terri was careful not to touch anything. She was afraid of breaking something valuable. She watched as Andy stepped up a few steps and disappeared around a corner.
"The guest suite is that way." He pointed toward a small hallway. Its where the business executives stay when here."
Terri noticed the kitchen was once again on her left. She made a mental note in case she ended up lost. This home was huge.
Andy lead Terri to a stairway. "Over there is the spare bathroom and my father's and mother's offices." He pointed toward a hallway to the rear of the stairs. Then, he began climbing the stairs.
"The second floor is my parents rooms and then the 3rd floor is for Tanner and I." Andy said as he kept heading up another flight of stairs.
"Your parents have an entire floor?" Terri hadn't realized she said that outloud until Andy chuckled and just kept walking up the stairs. Terri was glad that she was behind him because her face was probably bright red.
They came to the top floor. "Tanner's rooms are down that way and mine are this way." Andy said pointing then walking to the right.
Terri could hear what she thought was video games and Tanner yelling at his TV coming from the other way. Terri followed Andy to another door.
He opened it and Terri was surprised by how neat his room was. She leaned against the doorframe waiting on him as he collected his laptop and book bag.
"You okay?" Andy asked looking at her.
Terri straightened. She hadn't realized she was nervous until he said that. Her pulse raced from the thoughts that she was in Andy's room. It smelled like his cologne. She loved the smell. "Do you need some help?" Terri asked him moving closer.
Andy turned and gave her his adorable smile. "Sure, could you grab my calculator and some pencils out of the top drawer there?" He pointed at a cabinet near her.
Terri opened the drawer and looked into it. She grabbed the calculator then noticed Andy's sketch pad open inside. He had drawn an intricate picture of a girl. Actually, it kind of looked like her. Could it be her? Had Andy drew her? She picked it up and studied it. She turned to look at Andy.
"What's this?" Terri asked him holding out the sketch book.
"My sketchbook." Andy replied. He didn't seem to have any shame though.
"Why did you draw me though?" Terri asked looking confused. This was supposed to be the visions that she was seeing. She looked up at Andy then.
"Because your beautiful." Andy replied laying the stuff he held down on his bed. He took a few steps toward her.
Terri's breath caught. Was he going to kiss her? He did look like he was about to kiss her again. Terri froze except for her heart that was beating a million beats per minute. She figured Andy could hear it. It was beating so loud.
Andy stepped up beside her and took the sketch pad from her and looked down at it. "It isn't nearly as good as looking at the real life person in front of me though." He looked up at her as he said it. He laid the sketch pad back in the drawer and turned toward her. His hand came up to touch her cheek and caress her hair.
Terri saw a hunger in his eyes. She couldn't move. Her heart was still beating rapidly.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked her cupping her face with both hands now.
Terri couldn't speak. She gave one nod, yes.
Andy leaned in slowly and kissed her gently. Time stood still. Nothing else existed or mattered but the two of them in this moment. It was so wonderful it made Terri want to cry. He moved one hand to her hip and pulled her closer to him. Terri touched Andy's arms. She wished this moment would last forever.
Andy touched her lips with his lounge and Terri gave him entry. He deepened the kiss for only a few seconds. Then, he pulled back just enough to kiss her on the forehead.
"I've wanted to kiss you since the first day I met you." Andy whispered to her. He held her looking down into her green eyes. He noticed Terri had tears in her eyes. "What's the matter?" He asked in a hushed tone. He wiped her tears with his fingertips.
"Nothing." Terri said quickly still clinging to him. Her knees were so weak she was afraid if he let her go she would crumble to the floor. She decided to be completely honest with him. "That was the best first kiss I could have asked for." She pulled him in closer to hug him against her.
Andy kissed her on the forehead again. "We should probably go meet up with Eve and Phil." Andy told her without letting go. He was now tracing patterns on her arm and rubbing her back. They stayed like that for a few more seconds. Neither wanted to move or leave the moment.
Terri pulled away slowly. She was reluctant to release him. He felt like home somehow. She grabbed the calculator and the pencils from the desk.
Andy picked up his backpack and laptop. Then he took the calculator and pencils from Terri and tossed them in his bag. He leaned in and gave her a quick peck on the lips before taking her hand and leading her back to the stairway.
