I quickly took a shower and got ready, packing everything I would need for the marriage signing later.
As I stepped out of the condo, a man approached me, introducing himself as a lawyer, saying he was there to take me somewhere.
I had a bad feeling about him, but if I caused a scene now, I might put the other people in the building at risk.
So, I went with him calmly, until he started driving toward a remote area.
"Don't worry, miss. You're not going to die," the man said with a sinister grin.
I quietly reached for the pepper spray inside my bag just as the car came to a stop in front of another vehicle.
He got out and signaled toward the other car, prompting five more men to step out.
'Their outfits... they look familiar. They were the same ones who kidnapped Christine.'
I tried to open the car door, but it was on child lock.
I can't afford to be late for my meeting with Tyler.
As the men approached, I pretended to stay calm.
When one of them opened the door, I quickly kicked him, knocking him down.
The others grouped up, but I just smirked.
"Who sent you? After years of staying quiet, it looks like I'm finally being tested again."
"Catch her!" the fake lawyer shouted, and they all came at me one by one.
I didn't hesitate to fight back, I faced them
head on, with everything I had.
The first one rushed at me. I took off my high heel and smacked it right on his forehead.
The next one? I used what I call the "Khoez Counter Attack" I kicked him in his private part, then twisted his arm behind his back.
The third was more aggressive.
He pulled out a blade to attack me.
Even then, I didn't flinch.
I charged at him using only my small pearl covered handbag. It hurt to use something so expensive as a shield, but it worked.
I managed to get close enough, but he grazed my arm. He panicked so I took advantage of his panic and punched him square in the face.
Three left.
They all attacked at once. The pain in my arm forced me to step back.
Then out of nowhere I got hit in the stomach, and someone's punch caught the side of my lip.
"Pweh!" I spat to the side, grinning.
Then I gathered all my strength and speed to counterattack.
I managed to beat them.
I collapsed on the ground, panting from exhaustion, while the six men, bruised and beaten, scrambled back into their cars and drove away.
"Weaklings," I muttered with a laugh, slowly pushing myself up.
"Looks like I'm late."
I picked up my precious handbag and quickly called Gina to come pick me up at my location.
I shared my live location to make it easier for her to find me and carefully wrapped my wound.
I didn't have Tyler's number. Hopefully, he's not getting too impatient waiting for me.
