A dreadful energy surged from the depths of the palace, and in an instant, the skies over Holy Terra were shrouded in dark clouds, thunder crackling across the heavens.

Furious lightning crashed down from above, painting an apocalyptic scene.

If left unchecked, that power would completely shatter his reason, turning him into a creature that knew only battle, fighting endlessly until death.
That was why the Emperor and Malcador had installed a special Magnificat in his brain, specifically to keep that savage force in check.
Right now, Malcador was using his psychic powers to soothe Axis's wildly agitated mind.
This terrifying fury was exactly the sort of thing certain beings in the Warp craved most.
Axis had to learn to control it.
If he didn't, he would inevitably fall into the embrace of Khorne.
Even though his ki gave him some resistance to Warp energies, the Chaos Gods always found a way.
If Axis ever gave in, Khorne could grant him power even more berserk and violent than this, and the angrier Axis became, the stronger he would be.
If that happened, Axis would become nothing but a puppet of Khorne, losing all self-control, transforming into a machine of slaughter.
"Argh!" Axis gasped for breath, when suddenly, a cool, calming sensation swept through his mind, dispersing the raging emotions within him.
Axis gradually regained his composure. The Magnificat installed by the Emperor was doing its job, allowing him to take control of that ferocious power.
"Huff… huff… Sorry. I lost control just now," Axis said, trying to steady his heartbeat as he addressed Malcador.
If not for the Magnificat and his own resilient soul, Axis felt he might have fully ascended to the legendary Super Saiyan level in that instant.
That unparalleled fury, that irresistible urge to destroy, was something ordinary beings could never comprehend.
"Learn to control that rage," Malcador told him. "Make it your strength. Don't let it control you."
At that moment, the Emperor stood at the basement entrance with a satisfied smile.
If Axis had failed to control his fury just now, the Emperor had been prepared to use his own immense psychic power to forcibly calm him down.
That raging anger, that urge for destruction, that crazed lust for slaughter, these were exactly what the Chaos God Khorne loved most. In a sense, Axis was almost born to attract Khorne's favor, he was the type of warrior Khorne adored.
But today, Axis's performance made the Emperor very pleased. The boy had succeeded in mastering his rage.
Just then, a squad of Custodian Guards ran up, spotting the Emperor standing at the entrance.
They immediately dropped to one knee before him.
Sensing the dramatic changes across Holy Terra, they had rushed straight to the source of this terrifying energy.
"It's nothing," the Emperor said.
The dozen Custodian Guards nodded to each other and quietly withdrew from the laboratory entrance.
"Axis, you still need more training," Malcador said. "Remember: unless you can fully control this power, you must never let your ki rise to its full extent."
"I understand, teacher. Let's continue," Axis replied with a nod.
He genuinely craved the power of the Super Saiyan God form, longed for its matchless destructive force.
But if that meant becoming a puppet to power, losing his reason, or even becoming a plaything for some Chaos god, that was absolutely not what he wanted.
He would never let himself be ruled by this power. He would be the one to control it.
Malcador looked at Axis and nodded in satisfaction, then resumed the previous tests, using melta weapons to attack him.
The searing energy, hot enough to melt ceramite, struck Axis's body but was instantly blocked by his ki.
Axis hadn't chosen to take the hit directly with his skin. Such temperatures could certainly harm him.
Using his ki as a barrier was the best option.
Malcador tried plasma weapons next, but they too failed to pierce the ki defense.
As for the Frieza Force's energy weapons, there was simply no need to test them. Against a Saiyan, they were completely ineffective.
"Conventional weapons are useless against you now. Want to try chainswords and power weapons?" Malcador asked.
These two weapon types were different: both had disruptive force fields, and if they hit, it wouldn't matter what your body was made of, anything at the molecular level could be broken down.
"Let's test them. I think even those won't break through my ki defense," Axis said with some confidence.
Malcador nodded, then brought out a massive chainsword and a power weapon, testing them against Axis's defenses.

The chainsword blade was even dented from the impact.
His skin only showed a few reddish marks.
As for the power weapon, when Axis raised his Super Saiyan God barrier, it could block the strike.
But without the barrier, the power weapon's disruptive force field could easily tear into his body, potentially even killing him.
"I've got a pretty clear sense of your current strength now. Your power armor is already being crafted.
"Next, you need to learn how to use it. I'll arrange for some Custodian Guards to spar with you. Remember, you're not to beat them with overwhelming force," Malcador instructed.
Axis nodded in agreement.
