Asher and Artoria quickly arrived at their destination, but they didn't jump down from the rooftops.
In front of the palace at this moment, many silver-armored puppets were patrolling. Without even thinking, one would know these were puppets created by Morgan le Fay during her idle moments — the Enforcement Knights.
Not all Enforcement Knights were puppets, but at least the ones they saw now were all creations of Morgan.
"How are we going to get in?" Artoria turned her head to look at Asher.
"If we just walk in, will these Enforcement Knights stop us?" Asher pondered for a moment before suddenly asking.
Just as he finished speaking, Asher noticed Artoria looking at him with an expression as if he were an idiot.
"Just kidding," Asher said. "You said before that if I brought you here, you could see your Big Sister. Does that mean you have something like a pass?"
Artoria shook her head.
"Then how did you plan to bring me in before?" Asher asked.
Artoria raised her head and looked at Asher. "Big Sister has already found us. We just need to wait for her."
"What if she doesn't come out? Are we just going to stand here in the rain?" Asher asked.
Artoria fell into a brief silence.
Looks like she didn't think that much about it at all... Asher looked at Artoria's appearance and roughly understood what she meant.
Noticing Asher's gaze, Artoria just pursed her lips and slightly lowered her head. "Compared to Big Sister, I really don't understand anything..."
It had been like this since before. Morgan le Fay understood everything, while most of the things Artoria knew were taught to her by her foster brother and foster father. However, she often messed things up because she didn't know how to be flexible.
Compared to Morgan, she was really too weak.
"It's okay," Asher patted Artoria's shoulder, comforting her. "Biological diversity, you know? There will always be trash, otherwise how can you highlight the intelligence of others?"
Artoria was silent for a moment. "Thank you, but if you're trying to comfort someone, I think you should be a little more subtle."
"Let's talk about that later," Asher quickly got to the point. "We should find a way to get into the palace now. I have a method we can try."
"What method?" Artoria raised her head and asked.
"Sneak in."
"How do you plan to sneak in?" Artoria frowned, her emerald eyes under the wide-brimmed hat showing confusion.
This palace was heavily guarded. Only the gate in front of them could enter the castle, but several Enforcement Knights were guarding the gate. It was impossible to sneak in unless all these Enforcement Knights were dealt with.
But Asher actually said sneak in... did he know of another passage?
Just as Artoria thought of this, she saw Asher grin, revealing a smile. "I have my own way."
---
Artoria raised her longsword, the hilt striking the neck of an Enforcement Knight at the castle gate. Of course, due to its lack of consciousness, the Enforcement Knight didn't immediately faint. But just as it recovered and was about to draw its sword, Asher immediately raised his hand, chanting a spell. The Enforcement Knight's movements froze in place.
"What are you spacing out for? Next one!" Asher turned his head to look at Artoria and said.
"Ah... um..." Artoria snapped out of her daze, raised her longsword, and slashed at another Enforcement Knight.
A few minutes later.
"To be honest, I don't think this counts as sneaking..." Artoria said, looking at the several Enforcement Knights that couldn't move in front of her.
"The people in the palace didn't notice us taking out these Enforcement Knights, so we were sneaking," Asher explained. "Besides, Big Sister Morgan probably knew we were coming a long time ago. Maybe she's hiding somewhere watching the show right now."
"Alright, let's go in quickly. These Enforcement Knights won't be restrained for long." Without giving Artoria more time to react, Asher urged.
"Why do you know magic that can restrain others?" While walking into the castle with Asher, Artoria couldn't help but ask.
"Is it strange?"
"Mm..." Artoria nodded slightly. "I always thought you were a lancer."
During this period, Asher had always used a spear when sparring with her, and his spearmanship was indeed tricky, likely from a famous teacher. But now, Asher had actually used magic to restrain others, which surprised Artoria a bit.
"Lancer is my main job, but I also know a little bit of magic." Asher used his index finger and thumb to indicate a small distance when he said the last part.
Scáthach had previously said that Asher possessed extremely high magical talent. This wasn't a lie to encourage him, but rather she had indeed felt the powerful magical energy emanating from Asher's body, as well as the terrifying energy contained in the flowing ether.
However, for some reason, most of this magical power was restricted by something. This was also the reason why Scáthach had decided to take him as a disciple at first sight years ago.
A good seedling couldn't be wasted... that was Scáthach's thought.
"Alright, enough small talk. Next, we need to sneak into Big Sister Morgan's residence." Without giving Artoria more time to think, Asher interrupted her thoughts and then leaped up, jumping onto the roof.
Artoria followed suit. In fact, if it had been the original her, she wouldn't have been able to do this no matter what. But the Rune words were truly too mysterious. The power contained in these words was beyond her understanding. One could imagine what level her strength would reach if she could fully master these words in the future.
"Why aren't you moving?" Seeing Asher still standing in place, Artoria couldn't help but ask.
"Take a look over there," Asher shook his head, gesturing toward the open space not far away.
Artoria followed the direction Asher indicated.
Raindrops hit the floor, as if the whole world had become misty. But Artoria still clearly saw a graceful woman standing in that misty area. Her face was covered with a veil, but she exuded an indescribable charm. One could imagine how stunning this woman would be if she took off the veil.
"Big Sister?" Artoria couldn't help but call out the woman's title.
"Come down," Morgan le Fay raised her head, her gaze fixed on Asher's direction. "Luckily you didn't disappoint me, otherwise I would have gone to the Land of Shadows to kidnap you in two days, Asher."
It seemed like a joke, but it also didn't seem like a joke. This was also the inscrutable part of Morgan. Sometimes she would say something close to a joke, sometimes she was really joking... but sometimes, she would put that joke into action.
When Artoria heard this, she glanced at Asher beside her, her expression slightly strange.
Asher had told her before that he only had a brief encounter with her Big Sister, but now it seemed that it wasn't just a brief encounter...
Thinking this, Artoria still jumped down from the roof, landing steadily on the wet ground, and looked up at Morgan le Fay. "Big Sister."
"Long time no see," Morgan le Fay's voice was gentle, as if it had a magical power to slowly calm people down.
Asher watched the two sisters reuniting and followed suit, jumping down easily. But whether it was because of the rain or something else, his foot slipped, and he almost landed in a split. Fortunately, he stabilized himself in time, avoiding complete embarrassment.
A cleaner doing an aerial split passed by.
The two girls turned their gazes toward Asher. Morgan almost couldn't help but laugh, but to maintain her aloof image in front of her younger sister, she held back her laughter and looked at Asher with a calm gaze.
"Let's go to my palace first," Morgan then said in an extremely flat tone, but there was a hint of amusement in her eyes.
It seemed that the aloof approach she had taken was quite effective. This little guy... still couldn't resist.
