Chapter 17 - Leaving The Male Dorm

Zayden was surprised. However, since there was no information on the egg, he could do nothing. "Maybe increasing the rate of incubation would make the egg hatch faster," Zayden thought out loud.

"But how will I do that?"

A very crazy thought suddenly entered his mind. With only thirty percent of his energy remaining, Zayden activated his oblivion flux, summoning it in the shape of a formless and shapeless blob of black.

With slight manipulation, the oblivion flux transformed into a kind of string and began moving towards the egg. "Hope this works," Zayden said.

Immediately the strand of oblivion flux touched the egg, it was as if it was being sucked in by a black hole. All the energy from Zayden's body started rushing into the egg.

Zayden was shocked and alarmed at the same time. Was this egg a curse? Thankfully, a system notification appeared in front of him.

[Incubation: 0.15/100%]

And with that, his energy hit zero percent.

"Thirty percent is only worth 0.15 percent," Zayden thought in shock and dejection. With nothing to do, Zayden could only give up. He put the egg in his spatial ring and started recovering some energy.

"Crack!!"

A cracking sound resounded as Zayden quickly turned his head to Darian's cocoon. A red aura covered the cocoon. And on the surface of the cocoon were red wisps of energy swirling around before coming together to form a head. It wasn't the head of a human like Tyrel's but the head of an animal, one of the twelve Zodiacs, the Bull, Taurus.

The bull roared before the cocoon broke open, revealing a curled-up Darian inside.

Just like the rest of his team, Darian had also changed. He had become a whole lot more buff and muscular, almost gigantic. His hair now had a fiery red color and was long, long enough to be held in a ponytail like one of those murim young masters.

And finally, just like the rest of his team, Darian had a constellation on his back, it was the constellation of a bull, made out of fifty-four stars, just like Tyrel, with only one of them having a silver glow on it.

Darian slowly stood up and was really looking like a giant. He was bulky and already at six feet five inches tall. He gave Zayden a nod of acknowledgement and went into the dorm building to freshen up.

Zayden continued recovering his energy, and before long, he was back to maximum capacity. At this point, Tyrel and Darian had already come back to the rooftop, wearing new clothes, clothes given to them by the system that made them look like a special military task force.

"You guys should not forget your cocoon shells, they will be very useful soon."

The duo did as Zayden said without even bothering to ask him where he got this information from. They kept it in their spatial ring and proceeded down the male dorm to finally leave the dorm building.

Walking through the halls, they could feel he eeriness of the now-empty hall, as if announcing the arrival of the apocalypse. But they had already come to terms with it and would do everything in their power to survive this apocalypse.

"By the way, where is Dare?" Tyrel suddenly asked.

Zayden smiled faintly while muttering, "We should see him on the way."

Finally, they reached the ground floor of the male dorm. This was the only floor hat they hadn't cleared, so they expected to hear the sounds of the footsteps of the nulls. But just like the previous floors, there was no null in sight as if it had already been cleared.

"Took you guys long enough," they suddenly said as Dare appeared in front of them. Not much about him had changed apart from the fact that his clothes were all bloody.

"You killed all the nulls on this floor?" Tyrel asked

"Yes," Dare answered, "but they were too low levelled and I was unable to reach level te.n"

"I'm at the peak of level nine, killing a few more nulls would help me level up," He added

The rest of the team nodded their head in understanding.

"It seems like you guys managed to do what you needed," Dare said, a slight look of envy and longing on his face. He wanted to reach level ten quickly and receive whatever evolution he could get.

"Well, we didn't level up for nothing," Zayden said ."But no need to worry, once you reach level ten, you will most definitely understand"

"Why the secrecy?" Dare whined in curiosity

"Well, it should be a surprise for when you reach that level," Tyrel said

"Anyway, enough of the chatting, let's get out of this dorm, it has been three days since I saw the sun," Tyrel said, excitement on his face. He wanted to see what the outside world looked like after an apocalypse.

"Yeah," Zayden said as the team walked up to the main door of the dorm.

It was about eleven in the morning and the sun was still in the sky. As Zayden opened the door, he was hit by the rays of the sun after a long time, but something about these rays felt different.

It gave the skin a slight tingling sensation. And not just hum, almost everybody could feel a film of energy covering them, protecting them from the rays of the sun.

But none of them had time to think about that at the moment. In front of them was a sea of nulls, no less than fifty with levels ranging from three to seven. If one looked in the distance, they would be able to see a lot more null coming in this direction.

"It seems like they were attracted to our life force after the evolution," Zayden said.

This was because the life force of someone who had contracted a constellation was a whole lot stronger than that of a normal human who was just adapting to the cosmic energy.

"This is nice, I wanted to test out my new skills," Tyrel said as Darian also nodded.d

"And they could be enough to give me the Exp required to reach level ten," Dare added.

"Alright, go wild, guys!!!" Zayden said as the team charged into the sea of nulls

With a thought, the only weapon in Zayden's inventory, the Master's Sword, appeared in front of him. He stretched out his hand, but as it made contact with the hilt of the blade, Zayden felt a shock, like a high current passing through his body.

[Error]

[Host cannot equip System Weapons]

[Host can only Equip Naturally Forged Weapons]

Zayden was shocked. He didn't expect this, but there was nothing he could do at the moment; he was already in the sea of nulls.

'Only a minor setback,' Zayden thought

[Flux Manipulation Activated]

From the palm of his hand, the ever-changing mass of dark purplish gold energy seeped out. But before it could form a blob, Zayden exerted his will and made it wrap his hand like gloves.

Before long, on his hands were gloves made out of oblivion flux.

[Energy: -0.5%]

Seeing the energy cost, Zayden couldn't help but grin. He cupped both hands into fists and finally, his attention returned to the nulls in front of him.

Without an ounce of hesitation, Zayden swung out his fist, landing on the face of one of the nulls that rushed at him. With the help of the oblivion flux and his increased stats, the null exploded into a blood cloud before turning into golden particles that entered Zayden's body.

[Null Slayer Activated]

Zayden was surprised as he didn't expect the attack to be this strong, but he was not against more strength. So with a sadistic smile on his face, Zayden started punching around, most time, not looking at where his fist was going.

No matter which null his hand landed on, it would explode into a cloud of blood. And before long, there was a cloud of blood in the area that Zayden chose.

Just like him, the rest of his team were doing exceptionally well.

With the red aura surrounding him, Darian was like a raging bull as he charged into the sea of nulls. Every swing of his axe brought with it the death of a null. He was like a butcher who didn't care about the lives of his stock.

Golden lightning could be seen crackling around Tyrel's submachine gun. Every shot from him took the life of more than one null. His bullets had a golden sheen on them with lightning crackling around them. Every bullet hit its target, and even went beyond.

Dare, who was watching all of this, was awed. He knew that they had gotten stronger, but he didn't know that they were this strong. With this strength, surviving the apocalypse would be a piece of cake for them.

And he was not the only one to think so. The rest of the survivors from the male dorm, watching them from a distance, felt so too.
