Chapter 32 - Season 1. Chapter 31: Fodder fight club

Scene: 3:04 AM – The Midnight Rank Up

---

The moment Oliver set foot past the First Canopy Bridge, the woods shifted—not in shape, but in presence. A tension in the air, like the forest held its breath.

And then—

They came.

From beneath fallen logs.

From the hollows of trees.

From shadows woven into grass and bark.

Thirty.

Wooden Imps.

All at once.

> ⚠️ Systematic Guide Warning

"Overwhelming force detected."

"Prepare for intense combat."

Oliver's grip tightened on his stone sword, his other hand hovering near his dagger, the Vita in his chest pulsing like a second heartbeat. He didn't run.

He charged.

---

Swing! Slash! Burst!

The first five went down like kindling.

Oliver spun, water erupting in spirals around him, soaking the ground and slowing their approach.

Another four—gone with precision strikes to the core.

His dagger flashed as he ducked a leaping imp and drove it upward into the wooden demon's chest.

They swarmed.

They hissed.

They climbed each other to strike his head.

They threw rocks and clawed with splinters.

"What the-..... hey!". Oliver said while evading wooden and stone projectiles

Oliver was breathing hard now, shirt torn, hair damp with effort and sweat. But his eyes—focused.

He blasted water at the cluster and followed with a wind strike, clearing a path, then surged forward, slicing one, two, three more imps as they fell screaming in creaky wooden tones.

And then—

Oliver dropped to one knee, panting. His arms trembled, muscles sore. He looked at the mess of wood chips, sapling fragments, and crushed bark littering the grass.

[Achievement: The Blue Awakens]

[Imps Eliminated: 158 Total]

He looked at his cracked stone sword, chipped but still functional. "Guess you earned it too," he muttered.

The forest went quiet again, watching.

And Oliver stood, a little stronger, a little more ready.

He was no longer a beginner.

He was Blue now.

Scene: 3:59 AM – First Blue-Rank Threat Encounter

---

The forest felt different.

The trees were taller here—older, like they had watched centuries pass. The stars above peeked through branches like curious watchers. Oliver, still weary but standing firm from his rank-up, pressed deeper into the wilderness, beyond the First Canopy Expanse.

Then—

> Whoosh.

Thwip. Thwip. Thwip.

Arrows cut through the air with deadly precision. One struck a tree right near his head. Another skimmed his shoulder, nicking fabric.

Oliver froze, eyes wide.

From the foggy distance between pines… it emerged.

⚠️ [Systematic Threat Recognition Active]

[Blue-Rank Threat Identified]

> Bone Demon – Skeleton Archer

Class: Skeletal Range-Type Demon

Rank Tier: Blue-level

Weapons: Reinforced bone bow, stone-tipped arrows

Known Traits:

Long-range sniping

Silent movement

Weak to Vita bursts and blunt force

Typically adorned in faded orange robes from fallen civilizations

---

The Skeleton Archer stood at a distance, barely visible but unmistakable—tall, bone-thin, and glowing faintly at the joints. Its orange cloak fluttered slightly as it reloaded another arrow into its bow.

Oliver dove behind a thick log just in time—

> Thunk!

An arrow stuck in the bark right where he had been standing.

He bit down on a groan—one arrow had struck his thigh. Not deeply enough to cripple, but enough to burn. He yanked it out with a sharp inhale, gritting his teeth. Blood stained his pant leg, but he was still mobile.

> ⚕️ [Systematic Tip]

"Use healing Vita or a healing potion soon. Bleeding slows stamina regeneration."

Oliver, panting, generated a palm-sized water orb, filtering in a sliver of plant Vita and splashed it against the wound. It didn't fully heal, but it slowed the bleeding—just enough.

---

Then, Oliver peered from behind the log.

The Skeleton Archer was moving now, silently, like a ghost with bones. It had the high ground.

Oliver narrowed his eyes.

"Alright," he muttered. "Let's see how bones like water."

He conjured a pressurized stream of water, channeled it into a wave-like shape—and unleashed it.

The Skeleton staggered, bones cracking from the force, the bow arm thrown off.

Oliver used the opening—leapt over the log with a shout, dagger drawn. He sprinted despite the pain, dodging a weak retaliatory shot, and slammed into the Skeleton with full force, driving his stone dagger right into its glowing ribcage core.

The creature screeched—a hollow, unnatural sound—and shattered into shards of bone and rusted cloth.

---

> ⚔️ [Enemy Eliminated]

[Blue-Rank Threat Neutralized]

[+12 Mysticoins]

[Arrow Fragment Collected]

[Achievement Unlocked: "Arrow Dodger"]

---

Oliver slumped behind a tree, breathing hard, thigh burning, but victorious.

The forest was no longer testing him.

It was challenging him.

And Oliver wasn't backing down.
