Hawkeye and Natasha had evacuated from Hell's Kitchen and now stood before the door to Nick Fury's office.

Inside, Nick Fury was mid-conversation with Agent Coulson. The moment the two Avengers stepped in, both men stopped talking. Coulson, sensing the shift in tone, excused himself and left the room, closing the door behind him. That left only Fury, Natasha, and Hawkeye.

They wasted no time, immediately debriefing Fury on the situation in Hell's Kitchen. They detailed everything—Alex Ray's actions, his rising influence, and more importantly, his transformation into Kamen Rider Eternity.

Fury listened intently, rubbing his temple as the implications settled over him. After a long pause, he muttered, "Even Magneto couldn't do anything to Alex Ray…"

He looked up sharply. "And what about Kamen Rider Eternity? Why does Alex Ray control this kind of technology? We're flying blind."

His frustration mounted.

"Haven't you been monitoring him? Didn't you track who he's been associating with? A mecha that complex—there's no way he built it alone."

Fury fired off a string of questions, his voice low but charged. He wasn't just trying to understand Alex Ray—he was trying to reclaim control over a situation spiraling far beyond him. Fury hated this feeling. Hated being in the dark.

Natasha took a breath. "We've been watching him constantly. So far, he hasn't made contact with anyone suspicious. The only anomaly is… he brought a boy back with him yesterday."

She folded her arms. "Unless we embed someone deep in his inner circle, there's no way to learn the truth. But Alex knows both me and Hawkeye. No regular agent could get close. And… it's like he can see through people. He has so many abilities now."

Fury's brow furrowed.

"Did you identify the boy?"

"We did," Hawkeye said. "His name's Miles. Comes from a struggling family. I assume Alex took him in out of pity—just for the day."

He didn't realize how wrong he was.

Fury slammed his hand on the table. Then, with practiced calm, he pulled out a freshly printed report and slid it across the desk.

"Take a look. Tell me what you make of this."

His single eye scanned back and forth between the two agents, the tension in the room palpable.

Hawkeye picked up the report and flipped through the pages quickly. His brows lifted when he read the headline: "Alex Ray, Lord of Hell."

He chuckled, trying to defuse the moment. "Alex Ray, Lord of Hell… that's pretty badass. Definitely beats 'Hawkeye.'"

The joke fell flat. Silence followed, thick and cold.

Fury's glare silenced him faster than a bullet.

Clearing his throat, Hawkeye straightened. "Director, I think this could be good. Alex taking Kingpin's place might stabilize Hell's Kitchen. He despises things like drug trafficking. He's even paying out of pocket for some kids' schooling."

He meant every word. Alex's actions weren't those of a tyrant—they were of someone trying to protect the forgotten.

But Fury exploded.

"You're too naive!" he barked, slamming the table again. "Alex Ray is far more dangerous than Wilson Fisk ever was. Fisk was a mortal man. Useful. Controllable."

He leaned forward, one hand on the desk, voice rising.

"If Alex seizes control of Hell's Kitchen, who's really in charge? Him—or the United States government?"

Natasha didn't back down. "But what he's doing helps the people. And if he really wanted to start something… could we even stop him?"

She had seen it. The endless layers of power Alex possessed. She had underestimated him at first, but each new encounter peeled back another veil—and revealed yet another hidden weapon.

Fury's face hardened. "He does whatever he pleases. You saw how many people died yesterday?"

He shook his head.

"If he truly believed those people were guilty, he should've come to us. But no—he acted unilaterally. He doesn't care about government authority."

Fury's voice grew quiet, but heavier with threat.

"That's why S.H.I.E.L.D. must be ready. We need the strength to stand up to people like Alex Ray."

With a flick, he activated the wall screen.

Eight bold letters flashed on the monitor: AVENGERS.

"Avengers?!" Hawkeye and Natasha exclaimed in unison.

Images flickered on screen—superpowered individuals with potential to challenge even the most unpredictable threats. A massive green creature. Tony Stark, newly minted as Iron Man. Professor X in his wheelchair. A man whose arms could stretch unnaturally far. And Captain America.

Even Natasha and Hawkeye's photos appeared.

Fury turned toward them.

"Yes. You two are part of this initiative. You're among the most experienced agents we have. I need you to reach out and recruit these people."

Hawkeye stared at Captain America's image.

"Wait a second—Captain America?" He pointed at the screen, incredulous. "Isn't he… dead?"

His voice was laced with disbelief. "You can't just revive the dead, Director. Unless S.H.I.E.L.D. developed resurrection tech, that can't be him."

Fury's lips curled into a knowing smirk.

"While you two were busy monitoring Alex Ray, we pulled something interesting from the Arctic. We found Captain America frozen in ice. He's alive. Recovering."

He spoke the words with restrained pride.

Hawkeye was speechless. He gaped, unable to comprehend what he'd just heard.

Captain America—alive?

Nick Fury's voice brought him back. "So the most urgent thing now… is assembling these heroes."

"Understood!" Hawkeye and Natasha replied, snapping back into professional mode. Without another word, they turned and exited the office.

Fury remained behind, staring out the window into the looming dusk, the city far below in a quiet storm of uncertainty.

"I just hope," he muttered to himself, "I don't have to call Danvers back…"
