Kara stepped forward cautiously, heart thudding in her chest. The girl—her mirror, her echo, her unknown blood—hovered like a ghost between shadow and light. The metallic hum in the air tightened, as if the very atmosphere held its breath.
"I'm Kara," she said slowly, hand outstretched.
The girl's eyes flicked down to it, then back up. "That's not my name."
Kara hesitated. "Then what should I call you?"
The girl tilted her head slightly, like a machine calculating. "Dr. Vane called me Prototype 02. But in my dreams, I hear something else…"
The tension thickened.
"…Aria."
Tessa's fingers danced across her portable scanner. "Her vitals are spiking. She's not stable."
Adrian stepped forward. "Aria… we're not your enemies."
Aria's expression didn't change. "You were never meant to find me. I was meant to find you."
Without warning, she raised her hand.
The steel beams above the ruins groaned and snapped. Debris rained down—but Kara reacted instinctively, tackling Tessa and shielding her from a falling panel.
Adrian raised his weapon, but Kara shouted, "No! Don't hurt her!"
Aria's voice cut through the chaos. "I didn't come here to fight… not unless you force me to."

Minutes later, the dust settled. They stood in a broken circle of trust, cracked but not shattered.
Shade finally spoke. "Why now? Why wake up after all this time?"
Aria's eyes darkened. "Because he's coming. Vane has moved into the final phase. Everything you thought was over… it was just the prelude."
Kara's voice wavered. "What is the final phase?"
Aria turned her gaze to the horizon, where storm clouds gathered like a closing fist.
"Resurrection. On a scale you've never seen."
Tessa's breath caught. "Oh no… Lazarus Omega."

In a sealed lab far across the city, Vane stood before a row of stasis pods—each holding an enhanced soldier, expressionless and motionless, yet humming with unnatural life.
"Let the world burn," he murmured. "And from its ashes, our kind will rise."
Behind him, a terminal blinked red.
> Activation code accepted.
Omega Sequence initializing…

Back at the hideout, Kara sat across from Aria, eyes searching hers.
"Why do I feel what you feel?" she asked.
Aria stared at her palm. "Because you're not just my sister. You're my twin in pain."
Adrian stood guard near the entrance, watching the door—and watching Kara.
"Can we trust her?" Shade asked under his breath.
"I don't know," Adrian replied. "But right now, she's the only one who knows what Vane is planning."
Kara looked up. "Then we go after him—together."
Aria met her gaze. "Together."
But behind her green eyes, something flickered.
Something… fractured.
