Vaela's back hits the wall with a soft thump, and her hands curl around Kai's collar as he presses his lips to hers again and again, like he couldn't get enough. She tried, half-heartedly, to pull back.
"Kai," she murmurs against his mouth, "wait—"
But he kisses her deeper, and her words melt in her throat.
They stumble through the suite in a flurry of limbs and stolen gasps, knocking over a vase and toppling a decorative pillar as they crash onto the couch in a tangle of heat and hunger. Kai's hands fumble at her waist, then pause as his breath hitches and his mind finally catches up to his body.
He pulls away.
"I… Vanessa, I-I'm sorry," he stammers, breathless. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I shouldn't have… I just… I couldn't hold it in anymore."
Vaela looks at him, panting, pupils wide. She reaches out, takes his face in her hands, and kisses him softly before sliding her hands down to undo his belt.
