Chapter 19 - Selene Lunaris

2 humanoid figures stood in front of me.

The first figure was a girl with striking features.

She had smooth white skin that was glowing like a moon.

Her long silvery-white hair cascaded over her shoulders. Her Silver moon-like eyes gleamed with a faint glow.

Two vertical silver horns rose from her head, sharp and gleaming as if carved from crystallized ice. She had a pair of sharp wings in her back, they were covered with what looked like silver scales, showing high durability and strong presence.

She was wearing what was supposed to be a white dress, but it was tattered and riddled with old burn marks.

In the middle of her chest there was a razor sharp white crystal gleaming with a faint light, but it was covered in cracks, as if it would shatter with a touch.

She was standing while raising both her hands, one of them was holding a small piece of paper. Her lip curled into a calm soft smile that made the situation unnatural.

From seeing her glowing body and silver eyes, I had an idea of who she was.

'No way… '

The second figure was Alfred. He was standing behind her. His sharp green blade was barely touching her throat, as if he would cut her head if she made one wrong move.

"What are you?" He suddenly spoke without the usual warmness in his voice.

Her gaze landed on me and Aria."F–first, thank you for everything. I will pay you for your kindness someday."

Alfred's grip loosened a little and his eyes widened—as if he understood the situation.

"Second, add my number and I will explain everything."

Once she said the last word, she vanished like she had never been here.

No light. No sound. Just... Disappeared.

The only proof of her existence was the piece of paper she left behind, which Alfred catched instantly.

"...."

For a moment we just stared silently.

I scanned the room and confirmed my suspicion.

"She was Silva...right?"

Aria was still trying to process what happened.

Alfred chuckled."So you both were sleeping with a dragon. Though it's my first time seeing one, I can't mistake their unique wings...I don't know if you are lucky or not."

I knew he was trying to light the mode, but after thinking about what we did in the past 2 weeks and the fact that she was a dragon girl only made my mood worse.

"I'm an idiot."

After reading all those novels I should have known this!

Magical world.

The main character meets a random cat.

The cat turned out to be magical too.

He becomes friends with the cat.

Then it's either a dragon or spirit.

It was always something similar in most novels .

I should have known this, but after all those peaceful years, I let my guard down, and I thought that I won't encounter these types of clichés before the academy arc.

I brought shame to all the novels' readers!

"What's written in the paper ? " Aria suddenly asked, immediately, Alfred opened it and started reading.

He exhaled. "It's just her number, looks like her real name is Selene Lunaris."

'Wait, isn't Lunaris the vice principal surname?'

For a moment, I thought it was a coincidence, but I learned my lesson. Everything was possible now.

We took the number from Alfred and added it to our bracelet.

Alfred told Zephyr and Celestia what happened, then Zephyr decided to form a chat group and invite all of us.

Now we were just waiting for Selene to accept it.

[Selene pov]

'I will miss them.'

I looked at the paper in my paws then at the sleeping figures of Ray and Aria.

'It's almost 12 am now, the disguise effect will end, my bracelet will turn on again and the teleportation crystal should send me back to my father.'

I had…complex feelings about this.

On one hand, I really missed him. I couldn't have asked for a better father. But on the other hand, he would lock me in the home again, and after the latest attack he would be even more protective.

But I couldn't blame him.

If the people saw a half dragon girl like me, they would sell each part of me separately. I was like a walking treasure, waiting to get looted.

And the last attack was so dangerous that he had to gamble and use an artifact that sent me to a random place. And even after falling in a safe place, I almost died because no one tried to help me.

If not for them…

I walked to Ray to give him the paper, but a red light suddenly covered me.

'Did it end already?!'

That wasn't good, the disguise effect ended before the teleportation activated.

When the light disappeared, I was back to my half humanoid form. And as expected…

I felt a cold, sharp blade touching my neck.I raised both my hands slowly to show my surrender.

'Please don't cut my head, I just got it again.'

The next moment, an overwhelming aura fell on me.

I knew only one person with a scary aura like this. He was Raylin.

My lips curled into a smile.

For some reason he woke up instantly.

"Aria, WAKE UP! "

His gaze locked on me through the mask , he looked at me with his sharp purple eyes, the same eyes that always showed me warmness now looked at me with coldness and threat, which only made me a little sad.

I didn't even need to use my aura to resist him. My mind was just that strong.

I was happy that we were seeing each other face to face now, but it wasn't supposed to be this way. But I knew this moment would come eventually.

"What are you?" I heard Alfred's voice, making me remember the current situation.

I thought for a moment about what I should say, then opened my mouth.

"F–first, thank you for everything. I will pay you for your kindness someday."

"Second, add my number and I will explain everything."

Then suddenly my vision changed, turning into a big white room.

I took a deep breath, touching my neck that was safe now.

"Selly?"

I heard a familiar voice, then I shifted my gaze towards its source.

In a big white bed, there was a man that looked in his late thirties.

He had messy blue hair that reached his shoulder, bronze skin, dark blue eyes and a small blue beard.

Of course, I knew him.

How couldn't I?

After all, he was the man who always took care of me despite not sharing the same blood.

"Dad!"

I rushed towards him immediately, falling in his embrace, but then I noticed it.

His right arm was missing. A pipe in a device behind the bed was pumping a green liquid into his veins.

'So he was really injured.'

I saw him in worse conditions many times, but I still hated seeing him in pain.

I felt his gaze examining my clothes. Immediately, guilt and regret appeared in his face.

"I'm sorry, it must have been hard for you. If I was stronge—"

"I was fine." I cut him off. "I got saved by some elves after I got teleported. I had some fun with them actually."

His expression softened after hearing my words, though there was still some concern on his face.

"Oh, that's good." He sighed in relief before opening his bracelet to send a message to someone.

Then he asked me: "Well, tell me everything from the start."

I nodded and started telling him everything that happened in the past weeks.
