Axel's voice hit like a loaded gun with no safety. His smirk was crooked. His eyes were glowing with that signature Nova madness.
Brohn and Yulian took a single step forward then vanished from the battlefield like someone had hit CTRL+Z on reality.
Two hits.
That's all it took. One moment they were flanking. The next, they were knocked out cold.
"What…?" Maxi gasped.
"I didn't see anything"
Jennifer's eyes widened. "Speedster-class… no….that's something more."
Axel cracked his knuckles, his avatar's feet humming with blue lightning, and laughed.
"Weaklings are always like this. They believe in strength in numbers."
Then his gaze snapped toward Jennifer.
A chill crept up my spine.
His lips curled.
"Ohhhh...the infamous Jennifer. Daughter of the Irish Valley warlord, right? Such a prize. She is too much for a weakling like you, Contrario."
