Chapter 103: Tao's Happiness and Qian Daoliu's Late Night Visit
On his way back to the mansion, Han Li felt at ease, carrying no extra burden despite Qian Daoliu's voice transmission.
To be honest, he never expected to hide his changes from Qian Daoliu in the first place.
Even though the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings had long since perished, they were once God Kings. Regardless of their strength now, their divine rank alone was higher than the Angel God that the Spirit Hall worshiped.
Other people might not notice, as their exposure was limited to the medicinal herbs' residual aura, but Han Li's martial soul evolution was different. He had essentially extracted benefits directly from their corpses. Though he had forcibly refined and suppressed the aura, it had only been a short time.
He could fool the others, but to Qian Daoliu, a living vessel of divine power, Han Li's presence was like a blinding beacon. Being tainted with divine energy was no different from being marked.
However, Han Li wasn't the least bit worried.
The Qian Clan had a godly inheritance, and Qian Daoliu was a High Priest who had already lost the ability to ascend further.
Besides, Han Li was a legitimate member of the Spirit Hall a core member at that. If Qian Daoliu could tolerate Bibi Dong, then he would certainly have no issue with him.
More importantly, Han Li's past actions spoke for themselves.
Not only had he shared the immortal herbs' benefits with Qian Renxue through Guang Ling, but upon his return, he had also gifted each Elder a Dragon Gold Melon, even giving Golden Crocodile two extra. He had also promised to distribute rare medicinal herbs to Spirit Hall.
This was the definition of loyalty.
Other than lacking the Qian surname, his contributions to Spirit Hall already surpassed Qian Renxue's.
Under these circumstances, unless Qian Daoliu suddenly decided to become Qian Xunji, he would never harm Han Li. On the contrary, he would place even more importance on him.
This was precisely why Qian Daoliu had sent him a voice transmission before he left, saying he would speak to him later.
Of course, Han Li wasn't entirely gambling on Qian Daoliu's character. The most crucial reason for his confidence was the fact that he was already being monitored by the Divine Realm.
With Destruction God watching, if Qian Daoliu dared to touch him, Destruction would not hesitate to strip the Angel God's inheritance from him.
Thinking of this, Han Li's mood brightened even more.
He wondered what kind of expression the God of Asura was wearing right now.
Suddenly, Han Li felt something under his foot.
Blinking, he lifted his right foot to see a single gold soul coin lying on the ground.
He picked it up, tossing it in his palm, and his smile grew even wider.
His good mood inspired a change in plans.
Rushing back to the mansion, the first thing he did was find the two girls, who had already finished catching up on sleep. Without much explanation, he led them down the mountain. He decided to visit Grandpa Maxiu Nuo and Tao. After all, he hadn't seen them in months and had missed them quite a bit.
Upon arriving at the orphanage, sure enough, he found both of them there.
After some small talk, Han Li gifted Maxiu Nuo some medicinal herbs for his health and then turned his attention to the now visibly stronger Su Yuntao.
"Tao, looks like you've been doing well. That little pouch on your belt looks pretty fancy."
Han Li teased him with a smirk.
"Nice, right? Your future sister in law gave it to me. She's a steward at the library. I'll introduce you next time."
Su Yuntao had a face full of happiness when talking about his girlfriend.
Then, he leaned in and whispered to Han Li, "I absorbed a three thousand year old spirit ring for my third ring. I feel like my martial soul has strengthened. I can keep cultivating!"
"Of course. But don't rush into having kids yet. It's better to wait until your martial soul evolves again." Han Li reminded him.
"Relax, I remember everything you told me. I think I can at least reach the Spirit King level. When that happens, the Su family will finally have a breakthrough!"
He patted his chest confidently, radiating determination.
"Seeing you so full of energy puts me at ease. In a few days, I'll be moving down from the mountain. When that happens, I'll invite you over bring your fiancée, too."
Han Li discreetly slipped a small storage ring into Su Yuntao's robe before he could refuse, then quickly took off with Xiu'er and Dugu Yan.
"Grandpa Maxiu Nuo and Tao are quite interesting people," Dugu Yan commented with a smile after their visit.
"Yeah, they're good people. When Xiu'er and I were kids, they helped us a lot. I even got my master because of them. Feel free to visit them anytime they'll treat you like family."
Han Li chuckled.
"Hmm. So, what's next? Are we going sightseeing?"
Dugu Yan asked with an expectant look.
"Sure. But we need to be back before dinner I have something to take care of tonight."
Han Li agreed, setting the condition.
"Got it. Well then, what are we waiting for?"
Dugu Yan suddenly hugged Xiu'er from behind, poking her head out over her shoulder and looking at Han Li.
"Alright, let's go."
As soon as he finished speaking, Dugu Yan grabbed Xiu'er and ran ahead.
Han Li chuckled and followed after them.
At around 10 p.m., while Han Li was meditating in his room, he suddenly opened his eyes.
Rising swiftly, he walked to the door and opened it.
Standing outside was Qian Daoliu, right on time.
"Grandmaster Uncle, you're here. Please, come in."
Han Li extended his right hand in a welcoming gesture.
Qian Daoliu glanced at him with a smile, then stepped inside and casually found a seat, taking in the room's decor.
However, as soon as he turned his head, he noticed the neatly prepared table filled with fruits, snacks, and even freshly heated dishes.
He couldn't help but laugh.
"You act like I came here for a meal."
"Grandmaster Uncle, you wrong me! I just thought chatting on an empty stomach would be too dull. It's much more enjoyable with a bite to eat."
Han Li feigned an aggrieved expression.
"Alright, drop the act. It's exhausting to watch. You and Guang Ling are alike. If you were truly aggrieved, I doubt I'd even be able to step through the door."
Qian Daoliu chuckled.
"I would never! How could my master do such a thing? I'll definitely scold him for it later."
Without hesitation, Han Li threw his master under the bus.
"I expected you to bring your master along tonight, given your nature."
Qian Daoliu gestured for him to sit and continued.
"Well, you didn't mention him, so I didn't call him. But if you want, I can go get him now."
Han Li made a show of standing up.
"No need. It's better this way. Some matters don't concern him until they're confirmed."
Qian Daoliu waved him down, stopping him.
Then, his expression became serious as he locked eyes with Han Li.
"Han Li, tell me the truth have you been exposed to a divine trial?"
