Riley coming back is not good for me, for the boundaries I set ever since we both decided to go our separate ways. Her reappearance after all these freaking years brought up the emotions I'd rather they remain hidden.
How can I not be swayed even if it's a tiny bit when Riley was my first love and first everything just like I was hers. We were so in love and devoted to one another that we never saw it coming.
I guess life just happened that in the end, going different ways was the best possible decision for the both of us. When I recall how we split up and the hurtful words we told each other, I can't help but want to go back to that day. To just go back and take back the hurtful words I said but didn't mean.
George entered my office after I let him in. To bring us lunch.
"Thank you, George." He nodded his head and made his way out.
I got up from my seat and carried the food bag to my private bedroom. Riley was sleeping soundly like a baby. She looked so carefree and peaceful, different from when she's wide awake.
Riley's actually the first person apart from me to ever use this room. I guess she's still special?
I woke her up. She looked so freaking adorable being confused and all after the nap she just took.
After serving her her portion, we both digged in. Sitting in comfortable silence for once.
