The day was yet to be over. After the hectic day at the office with that photoshoot that was happening, it was finally time to attend the launch party for the brand new beauty and skincare line.
Finally, after all that hard work that was put into developing this beauty and skincare brand, we can finally catch a break.
There are so many influential figures here. I mean, that's to be expected when Xavier is also an influential figure with the company he built.
The guests seemed to be having a very lovely time. I was so relieved to see everyone enjoying themselves and appreciating the beauty and skincare products on display. I just know that Xavier is just as proud that everything is working out.
Speaking of, Xavier, who is beside me, looks so freaking handsome in the Armani suit. I can't help but steal glances at him as he converses with one of the guests.
"Is this the Kate?" The man in the tuxedo asked.
I came out of my trance to give him my full attention.
"Yes. I don't know what I'd do without her." Xavier smiled proudly at me.
It's moments like this that I continue falling deeply for him.
"I'm very flattered. Uhm, it's nice to meet you, Mr..."
"Owen is just fine." He winked at me.
I could't help but shift uncomfortably with how he was undressing me with his eyes.
"Owen, I'd behave myself if you still want my investment."
Mr Owen cleared his throat and walked away in shame.
I could finally breathe.
"You okay?" Xavier asked.
"Yes, I'm fine..."
"Xavier, come here!" Mrs Banks excitedly beckoned her son to go over where she was.
Xavier looked at me.
"I'll be fine." I assured him.
Xavier went to his Mom. Mrs Banks looked so excited as she introduced him to someone. I wonder who it is.
Alongside his parents are Mr and Mrs Sinclair. The two are family friends from what I know.
For the 3 years that I've known Xavier, he seems to be shifting uncomfortably as he indulges in a conversation with whoever it is. Oh well, it's none of my business.
I decided to go and join my work friends.
"Did you see her?!" Linda asked me, expectantly.
"See who?" I asked, confused as I took a sip of the white wine.
"The lady who's supposedly our boss's fiancée!" Emily replied, happily.
