Chapter 13 - CHAPTER : 13 : Meet The Fleet

War, war never changes no matter, what era.

The age of discovery Humanity set sail into the oceans with adventure and in their hearts.

But soon, those hearts were filled by a different desires, to conquer the seas.

However, the true enemy appeared from outside the world.

The Sirens.

With their vastly superior technologies, the Siren pushed humanity out of the ocean.

There was no longer any place in the seas for mankind.

To counter this unprecedented threat, humanity with the help of the Guardian, humanity organized a global alliance named Azur lane.

A fleet consisting of 8 Battleships, 4 Fleet Carriers, 3 Light Carriers, 10 Light Cruisers, 5 Heavy Cruisers, and 15 Destroyers could be seen sailing toward Azur Lane Base Pearl Harbor. Some of the Escort Ships were battered and lightly damaged; some had charred burns on their decks and superstructures.

A woman with long white hair, wearing an Admiral's cap and jacket, was standing on the flight deck of a Yorktown-Class Carrier. The carrier was badly damaged; the second elevator was stuck in the middle, and the bridge had burn marks from a previous fight.

The said woman was slowly approached by a Maid with purplish hair, and spoke, "Is there a problem, Miss Enterprise?"

The woman with White Long Hair wearing an Admiral's Cap and Jacket is USS Enterprise CV-6.

Enterprise-6 turned around and faced the Maid and spoke, "It's nothing, Belfast. It's just that... according to the transmission I received earlier from Pearl, we need to introduce ourselves to this newly joined fleet that just arrived at Base..."

The Maid was HMS Belfast, or Belfast.

Belfast spoke, "I see, we just need to meet these newly arrived ships, right?"

Enterprise-6 spoke with curiosity, "I didn't know that we commissioned new ships this month?"

Belfast held her chin and pondered, "That's quite odd."

4 F4F Wildcats flew overhead the Carrier and soared into the sky uncontested as they provided air cover for the fleet sailing closer to the Hawaiian Territorial Waters.

Cafeteria, Azur Lane Base Pearl Harbor

June 7, 1942

8:00 AM

At the Cafeteria, the Enterprise Strike Group, including Enterprise herself, was holding a tray and lining up alongside the Azur Lane shipgirls. This unusual sight caught the other Shipgirls' attention; murmurs and chattering rose about them.

At the waiting line, it's now their turn to be served, but Lafayette is at first in line in the Group. He's the first one being served by the server.

"My, my, are you the little brave one who faced an Elite Siren in the battle?"

A Brownish Hair Woman wearing a Wild West Outfit with an apron spoke in a somewhat cheering tone while serving food on Lafayette's tray.

Lafayette nodded slowly while blushing at the sight of the older woman. "Ye-Yes, Ma'am..."

Lucas frowned and let out a groan after hearing that, as he remembered his failed interception. "Shit, not that again."

Arizona at the rear was intrigued by the outfit of the brown-haired woman serving at the counter table. "A Wild West outfit? Maybe one of the Midwestern States," he said, his voice sounding intrigued.

"Whoa, she looks pretty good," Denver said; her commentary reached the brown-haired woman's ear.

She let out a laugh at the chaotic group of Modern Kansens and their commentary. Lafayette flushed red in front of her. She then introduced herself to them.

"By the way, my name is Nevada, or USS Nevada." She then smiled as she greeted them.

Lucas, Essex, Denver, and Arizona greeted Nevada in unison. "Howdy."

William tipped his cap. Maya did a Japanese bow. Belfast bowed her head in courtesy.

Enterprise, Bunker Hill, and Laffey just casually greeted, "Hello."

"Dude, what time did you fall asleep?" Lucas asked.

"Three and woke up at five," Arizona casually said as if it were military matters.

William chimed in, "Good for you two; I overslept at six."

"Well, at least I had a beauty sleep," Essex jumped into the conversation.

"Why would you need that for? You're barely as proper woman," Denver said.

"I don't need that; my charisma with men is high."

"Don't get your chances that high," both Lucas and Arizona said.

"I agree with them," William agreed with the two.

Enterprise was having an annoyed look on her face; her brows twitched as she heard a chaotic conversation engulfing behind her.

"It's early in the morning; could the five of you lower your voice to less than a goddamn rooster?" she said in an annoyed tone.

Silence permeated as Lucas, Arizona, Essex, Denver, and William shut their rowdy conversation. Early in the morning, their voices were booming in the Cafeteria.

After they all had been served, the Group then found an empty table to sit. They sat at two separate tables; the Girls at one table and the Boys at the other opposite table.

Before they could eat, Enterprise made a little announcement to the group. She announced to them what Adm. Nimitz said to her.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a little announcement. According to Adm. Nimitz, we have to properly greet and introduce ourselves to the returning Fleet at 10:00 AM. And I want all of you to be on your proper behavior." Her tone got serious at the last word.

Lafayette, Essex, Lucas, and Arizona sweated extensively after hearing that last part; they knew they were not going to be behaving properly.

The Shipgirls at the cafeteria chuckled a bit at the sight of the Men sweating in fear. Lafayette could now see where this was going; he feared the most was to catch most of the attention that he didn't need.

"Don't do anything stupid. Especially you two, and you," William spoke, pointing his spoon at the last person.

Lafayette shrieked, "Why me?!"

William took a bite of his sandwich and spoke, "You quite intrigued the girls here, Sheldon."

"You said I should be making friends," Lafayette retorted.

"Well, at least we're not making commotions," Arizona uttered.

"Oh, you're not safe."

"What???"

"You're all talked about among the Eagle Union Girls about your name and looks," William mentioned.

"Yeah, I know... I'm named after Arizona and closely resemble Pennsylvania," Arizona said, his voice low.

"Precisely, and by the sound of Miss Enterprise's address, we would meet these two."

Arizona's curiosity peaked as he guesstimated at the Battleship Pennsylvania Sisters.

Lucas spoke, "By the looks of Arizona's face, I believe this Pennsylvania is a hard one."

"Let's just hope she's not as dry with humor as you did," Lafayette aimed that at Arizona.

~Time skip~

After eating breakfast at the cafeteria, Bunker Hill and Laffey were sitting on one of the benches right next to the walkway at the Azur Lane Academy.

Azur Lane Academy is made for the Shipgirls to learn and create tactics on their own. The Toddlers or the Destroyers used the Academy for learning and development. Some of the Veteran Shipgirls teach the next generation with battle experience and tactics.

At the bench, Bunker Hill fiddled with her laptop as she was tasked with making a schedule of every ship's deployment and availability. Laffey is Laffey; she's currently lying there asleep or drunk (IDK).

At the entrance of the Academy, A Green Hair Girl with Glasses and wearing a Typical Teacher Outfit walked out, papers in hand.

As she walked down the walkway, she found some familiar faces. The Small Green Hair Girl went to where Bunker Hill was and spoke to her.

"I didn't think you'd arrive sooner, but I need your help at the Academy right now," The Small Green Hair Girl said.

Bunker Hill stopped what she was doing and looked at the Small Girl in confusion. "Sorry, I'm not the person you were looking for."

"I'm not playing games with you, 'Bunker Hill'," The Small Girl said in a somewhat angry tone.

"Sorry, but I am not the 'Bunker Hill' you speak of," She said to her with an unreadable face.

The Small Green Hair Girl yelled in anger, "Are you having the same brain as your sister Essex, because I don't have any time for this nonsense!"

Frustration could be seen on the Small Green Hair Girl's face as veins could be seen popping out. Bunker Hill only gave her an unreadable face.

Laffey woke up from the shouting and quickly drew her Desert Eagle as fast as lightning and pointed it at the Small Green Hair Girl.

The Small Green Hair Girl shrieks "EEKS" at this, as sweat drops like a fountain from her forehead; her two pupils were looking directly at the hole of the barrel.

Laffey looked her in the eye like a cold killer ready to pull the trigger. "Please shut up; I'm sleeping..." She said in her typical groggy voice.

Cmdr. Thomas just strolled by and heard some shrieking voices coming over at the walkways of the Azur Lane Academy. He quickly checked if some Girls were in trouble; he could see Laffey seconds away from blowing Langley's head off.

"Miss Laffey, don't...!" Cmdr. Thomas shouted while running as fast as he could to stop the impending doom.

He quickly pulled the Small Green Hair Girl out of the end of the barrel. "Miss Langley, those are not our ships..." He said as he pointed at the two.

Langley's eyes widened at the mistake she just made; she was seconds from meeting Jesus at that gun point. "Wait—What????!!!"

Bunker Hill apologized. "I'm very sorry for the misconduct of my subordinate." She said, as she placed her hand on Laffey's Desert Eagle and slowly lowered it down.

"N-No need to apologize; I'm the one who made the mistake first." Langley was flustered at her mistake that almost cost her, her life.

Azur Lane Shop

Maya was looking through the Merchandise that was placed on the store shelves; she then sighed, letting out some of her frustration, and spoke in a somewhat irritated voice, "Do you really have to follow me all day?"

She then turned around and saw Lucas was just standing there, still. He'd been standing there and following her to every corner of the Base, excluding the Girls' Restroom.

"I'm just doing my job," Lucas responded, not minding her irritated looks plastered on her face.

"It's a bit annoying being followed by someone... you know?" She said, eyes on him.

~Flashback last night~

After their introduction that almost started a commotion, Enterprise ordered Lucas to accompany Maya 24/7 at the Azur Lane Base after the debacle that just happened.

"Ma'am, why me? Why not the others?" Lucas asked, somewhat uncomfortable with his new task.

Enterprise spoke, "Bunker Hill is busy acting as my Secretary. Belfast will be assisting me in any negotiation, and also as my maid. Essex is responsible for keeping an eye on our Ships. Arizona would have caught some of the girls' attention. And Laffey will just straight-up shoot everyone who would act with ill intent toward Maya."

"What about... Lafayette?" Lucas asked again.

"Well... Lafayette is... I doubt he can't handle such crowds."

Lucas let out a frustrated groan after hearing that; he really had no choice but to follow orders and tail Maya 24/7 around Azur Lane Base.

Enterprise then left the two; the whole scene had been awkward by the minute passed. The two had dumbfounded faces, as they could not believe they had to be this "close" to each other for 24/7.

~Flashback end~

"Do you find something interesting... Nya...?" the Manager of the Shop at the counter asked. The tone of her voice was ominous.

"Umm... we're just... looking around..." Maya replied, somewhat creeped out by the owner's voice and intent.

She then returned the merchandise to the shelf. She sensed something wrong with the Store Owner's voice; it sent shivers down her skin that she couldn't fathom.

"I think we should leave... we... got some appointment," Lucas said, also sensing some absurdity with the Store Owner.

"Ye-yeah... we got some appointment to attend," Maya said, following Lucas's excuse to leave the Store.

"Hope you return, dear customer, Nya...." the Store Owner said.

The two then slowly left the shop. They both checked their wallets in their pockets to see if they were gone. Luckily for them, they were still there.

Lucas thought, "I'm sensing my wallet leaving my pocket as long as I stay inside that shop."

Shivers ran down Maya's skin. "That store owner is... bad. Totally bad," She said while shaking.

USNS William McLean

William, Belfast, and Enterprise were standing on the deck of the Cargo Ship for an hour. They were all looking at the open Cargo Bay as they were anticipating something magical would happen at the sight.

"Are you sure this will work, William?" Enterprise asked in irritation, as her shoe was tapping the metal deck each second passed.

"I don't know, Ma'am... I'm not a fortune teller to find out if it will work... or not," William responded as he prepared himself for a disappointing result.

Belfast noticed Enterprise's excessive tapping of her shoe on the metal deck. "Patience is a virtue, Miss Enterprise," She said.

"Sorry, Belfast, it's just that I'm bored standing here under the punishable summer sun," Enterprise said.

"I thought you were used to this humid climate?" Belfast asked.

"Yes. As a ship back in our world. I'm still not getting used to this human body," She said, as a cold breeze of air passed through her.

"Oh... I see." Belfast understood her predicament, as she, too, was having a hard time being a Maid.

William looked at his wristwatch. "Alright, time is up. Let's see the magic," He said, raising one finger.

The Cargo Bay then lit up in bright Blue lights; the three on deck waiting for a miracle covered their eyes from the blinding light coming from the Cargo Bay. As the bright light subsided, 24 Tomahawk Canisters materialized, and this made the three flinch at the sight.

"I can't believe that works!" Enterprise said it with a hint of relief in her voice.

Belfast was so happy that buckets of tears fell from both of her eyes. "Thank God."

William shouted, hands raised, as he was like the happiest man alive. "YEAH! BABY!"

Enterprise spoke in a serious tone after recomposing herself. "Now, I want you to order a strong Satellite Dish Antenna."

William stopped what he was doing. "WHAT?"

"You heard me. You will order one, or you will build one, from scratch!"

William nodded. Because no one in their right mind would build a strong Satellite Dish Antenna in the 1940s. Even if you had the materials and funding, it would never be enough to match the latest technology and power output of Satellite Dish Antenna needed in interstellar communication.

The Satellite Dish that Enterprise wanted was the one that was capable of deep space connection that NASA, a US Government-founded Agency, and Space Force uses. They were in another world or dimension; Satellite Communication made from scraps wasn't going to work.

As William pondered and murmured to himself, saying the material components and technology needed in interstellar communication, Enterprise then noticed a silhouette of the incoming Fleet at the distant horizon.

"Gather everyone, Belfast; the Fleet has arrived," She said.

"As you wish, Miss Enterprise," Belfast bowed and left to inform everyone about the incoming Fleet.

The Fleet

A Yorktown Class Aircraft Carrier was entering the harbor entrance. A bunch of Shipgirls gathered at the port side of the Carrier's Deck to look at the wonder that moored at the Harbor. The angular and futuristic design of the Modern Warships differed from ship to ship. Their appearance held bewilderedness and amazement.

The three AEGIS Destroyers that were moored at the starboard side of the Nuclear Cruiser were facing the bow of the Super Carrier. The two Submarines were moored at the Super Carrier's portside. At the stern of the Super Carrier, two Frigates were moored on the portside of the Amphibious Assault Ship, and the Cargo Ship was docked alone at the back.

Enterprise-6 was looking at the various Jet-Planes that were parked in line on the deck of the Super Carrier and Amphibious Ship.

"So, these Carriers are using an Iron Blood tech? What a shame," She said with a hint of disappointment in her voice.

Belfast heard it. "Indeed, but the design did not resemble any Iron Blood design, and they are much bigger and unique, similar to a Siren Plane."

Belfast then looked at the Frigate that was waving a Royal Navy flag. "Although... their ship design is quite unique and a bit more angular and holds sophistication to it."

"You know, Sis. It's good to see some new faces around here in the Base for once in a while," A Yellow Hair Cowgirl said in a joyful voice and smiles.

Enterprise-6 nodded. "Yes, it's quite refreshing to see some new faces around here."

"Hey Sis, look at the aircraft." She pointed at the parked F/A 18 Super Hornet Block III. "Isn't that a bit bigger than our Planes? It is the same size as an Army-Air Corp. Medium Bomber."

"Yeah... you're right, Hornet. That Plane is way too big for a Fighter. The weight and size could hinder its performance in flight. I wonder how it would perform in a dogfight against an F4F Wildcat?" Enterprise-6 said.

The Cowgirl is USS Hornet, or Hornet.

"But the size of it means it can carry more bombs," Hornet interjected.

"Miss Hornet was right; maybe that plane is meant only to carry bombs and not as a Fighter," Belfast said.

"If that's a Bomber? Where is the Fighter?" This question puzzled the two, as Carriers often carry Fighters on board their decks.

"Maybe it is hiding in the hangar." Hornet pointed at the closed hangar doors. "See... the Hangar Doors are closed, so that means there's something inside."

"It is possible that she's hiding it for a reason," Enterprise-6 said.

"Maybe Adm. Nimitz ordered her to hide her plane so that a spy could not see it," She thought.

A Purple Hair Girl with a Small Crown pointed at the AEGIS Destroyers and spoke in amazement. "Look at those Ships, Unicorn, Laffey. New Shipgirls, maybe we should be friends with them?"

Laffey spoke in somewhat drowsy. "Look. Laffey saw two new Destroyers." She points at the two Frigates docked at the Harbor, while keeping herself awake.

Unicorn was hugging her plushy Unicorn and nods. "Let's be friends with them."

A Red Hair Girl holding a microphone was pointing at the flag that was waving in the morning wind. "Hey guys, look at their flags."

They looked at the flag; the flag was similar to an Eagle Union flag and Royal Navy flag, but then, they saw a rising sun flag; this caused gasps among the shipgirls.

"Why is there a Sakura Empire Shipgirl doing here?" a Tomboyish Girl asks.

"But, there are no Sakura flowers in the flag, and it only has a red circle and red rays," Another Tomboyish Girl spoke.

"They were too lightly armed for a Cruiser. Why did we even make these ships?" A Pink Hair Girl wearing a School Girl Uniform said.

"That is a weird design for a ship?" a Blue Haired Girl commented as she stared at the Modern Warships.

"The Eagle Union Flag is all wrong. What's up with 50 stars? It should be an Eagle in the canton," A Black Hair Woman wearing coveralls with revealing cleavage said.

King George V Class Battleship

A short Hair Blond Woman wearing an Officer Dress of Grenadier Guard spoke. "I can't believe Eagle Union built such a big ship. It even dwarfs Graff Zeppelin. But the other one is similar to the size of an Essex Class?"

"If it belongs to Azur Lane, I wouldn't have to worry about it, Wales," a Woman wearing Edwardian Fashion Clothing with a British flag on her left shoulder spoke and walks toward her.

The short-haired blond woman wearing an Officer Dress of Grenadier Guard is HMS Prince of Wales, or Wales.

"If Eagle Union built this Massive Carrier, why does it lack a smoke stack? – and the other one has two smoke stacks?" A white-haired woman wearing a White Dress and Summer hat spoke as she looked at the Super Carriers.

"I think the same thing too, Illustrious," Wales spoke as she lowered her 'fancy binocular'.

The white-haired woman wearing a White Dress and Summer hat was HMS Illustrious, or Illustrious.

"But, the ones that puzzle me are... those planes on deck. They looked like Siren Planes to me," Wales said as she looked at the MQ-28 Ghost Bat and MQ-25 Stingray that were being towed by Pushback Tugs.

"It also bothers me. How did Eagle Union get this kind of technology?" Illustrious said in concern while looking at the parked F/A-18 Super Hornets.

"I've only heard rumors around the Base that Eagle Union is making a jet engine technology to compete with Iron Blood. I don't know if it's true," She then sips her tea.

"But, if you said so, the rumors are correct. Those are the planes with jet engines that Eagle Union developed," A Woman with Edwardian Clothing spoke.

"I also heard that rumor not so long ago... Maybe you're right, Lady Hood," Wales said.

The Woman wearing Edwardian Fashion Clothing with a British flag on her left shoulder is HMS Hood, or Hood.

The Fleet then docked at the Harbor; the Shipgirls onboard started walking down the gangway that the Manjuu had prepared.

"Umm... Enterprise. I need to leave. I have to deliver this report to Miss Yorktown," A Blue Hair Girl asks.

"Yes. You're free to leave, Helena. You can introduce yourself to them later," Enterprise-6 said.

"Thank you." Helena then sprinted towards the Office Building to deliver her report to Yorktown about the battle that occurred at Midway Islands.

"Is everyone ready to meet these new Shipgirls?" Enterprise -6 asks her subordinates.

"Yes/Yeah."

"Alright, let's meet them," She said.

~a little few moments later~

The Shipgirls who just stepped down on the docked Ships were all surprised and shocked, specially Enterprise CV-6, Cruiser Belfast, Laffey DD-459, and a Cleveland-class Cruiser Denver, to see the faces of the new Kansens.

Their expression was mixed, but one expression was certain: Confusion. After the life-and-death battle with Sakura Empire forces at Midway Island and Mirror Sea, the Azur Lane Shipgirls were tired of any surprises.

At the Harbor where. The Modern Kansens on their respected uniform, Enterprise-80 in her Admiral Outfit with sunglasses obscuring her gaze under. Bunker Hill in her pronounced Navy Blue Drees and Light-Blue Coat and sharp reading glasses. The two Marines on their Dress Blues Uniform. Maya and Lafayette on their Naval Officer White Uniform, William in his Lab-Coat and Capt. Cap. Arizona wore his Navy Summer White Uniform with sunglasses, armed crossed. Laffey on her Jacket and bunny ear headphone.

Hornet looked at Enterprise-80 and looked back to Enterprise-6, back and forth. "Sis... why are there two of you?"

"I-I-I don't know...." Enterprise-6 stutters in pure shock, as she didn't expect to face herself.

Enterprise-80 saw the bewildered expression plastered on her counterpart's face and smirked. "That's quite a priceless reaction."

Belfast was looking at her counterpart as she tried to read her body movement and face expression.

Frigate Belfast was doing the same thing; she was also looking at her counterpart and reading its body movement and face expression.

'She's good. She didn't show any reaction or any slight concern.... Who are you?' Belfast thought.

'Trying to read me based on my reaction. Not bad. And the way you read me like I'm a... spy.' Frigate Belfast thought.

Denver CL-58 was looking at her counterpart's chest area and returned to her chest area. 'She has a bigger chest than mine.' She thought, as a defeated look could be seen on her grim face.

"Who is she? Why does she look like you, Denver?" a Tomboyish girl beside her spoke.

"I-I-I don't know..." She said in confusion.

"Well, hello there...." Denver-856 said, trying to mimic Obi-Wan Kenobi's voice.

"Ehhh.... Why are there two Laffey?" Javelin exclaims in her typical noise.

Laffey-459 lost her drowsiness as she stared at her counterpart. Laffey-200 stared back at her.

*insert Cowboy Stand-off SFX for the two*

The two bunnies imagined themselves in the middle of a wild west town and surrounded by Modern Kansens and Azur Lane Shipgirls wearing wild west outfits.

Laffey-200 mutters, "Noisy."

"A Male-Kansen... that's a new one," Illustrious said as she glanced at them. But, one caught her eye and attention. A kid in Naval Officer Uniform. "Oh."

"Why are they looking at me like that, especially that lady with big tits?" Lafayette mumbles to himself, sweat dropping like a fountain at his forehead, as every Royal Navy Shipgirl is staring at him.

Arizona's attention is fixated on the two brunette women in their coveralls; the glasses on his eyes obscured his purpose of attention.

Lucas beside him leaned in. "That one, she looks like you," He whispered.

"I know; I also had a feeling she's looking directly at me," Arizona whispered back.

Arizona then shifted his gaze to the person he presumes is his counterpart; by studying her face, he now had a clue as to why they all reacted to him after knowing his name. That woman, his counterpart, wouldn't have the ability to hurt a fly, let alone bring an incinerator to kill one.

"She looks like a cinnamon roll," He commented.

Their invisible staring contest continued, as the two brunette women in coveralls eyed him with suspicion and apprehension. The connection they felt feels foreboding.

But a Stoic Maid amongst the returning Shipgirls caught his posture and concealed purpose; she sensed something off with that man's gaze under the shades of sunglasses.

JS Maya felt the glares carrying hate towards her. They all saw her as an enemy in their eyes. She didn't speak and only looked down to avoid their gazes.

Adm. Nimitz greets the returning Shipgirls and introduces them to the newly joined Kansens to their Fleet and Ranks.

"Ladies, I know all of you are tired from the recent mission. But, today I want you all to meet the new Kansens that joined Azur Lane recently... I know many of you have questions; before that, let them introduce themselves first."

Adm. Nimitz thought. 'I hope this goes well, as I planned. I hope.'

He then signaled the Modern Kansens behind him to come closer and introduce themselves. One by one, they came forward in line and introduced themselves; Enterprise-80 went first.

Enterprise-80 removed the sunglasses obscuring her eyes as she introduced herself. "Hello there... my name is CVN-80 USS Enterprise."

Before she could finish her introduction, the Shipgirls screamed in pure shock.

"EH!!!!!!!"

"Great, it didn't work," Adm. Nimitz mumbled to himself, shaking his head in disappointment.
