Nell, Lois, Jasmine, Saya, Cera, Saeko and Racherna with James all left the dungeon and headed towards the town once again.
"James, is there anything special today?" Jasmine asked.
"In town?" James asked back.
"I don't know," Jasmine responded. "You just seemed more eager," she said.
"You also made us have all our weapons," Lois added as she held her M4W.
"Yes Master," Cera said as she held Custodire. Racherna looked at Ulticurse.
"Well I have a feeling something might happen in town today so better be prepared," James responded.
"What will happen?" Nell asked. She had to find out. She thought as the hero she could save lives.
"I am not sure, maybe nothing, maybe something," James said. He did not want them to worry too much.
Saya thought he knew something. "Will it be okay with Cera and Racherna here?" Saya asked. She looked at the half horse girl and half spider girl. She thought if she had seen them a few weeks ago she would be terrified but after all the things she had seen. This was normal, she thought.
"There are humanoids here so they should fit in," James responded. "We also have Nell here," he added.
Nell frowned. She thought James was abusing her authority. Despite her hesitation, they approached the gates once more. As they neared, Nell took the lead, stepping forward. She addressed the knight on duty. It was the same knight as yesterday. "They are with me," she said.
The guard studied the group, sweat forming at his temple. His eyes flickered between Nell and the two humanoid figures behind her. For a moment, uncertainty clouded his face. Then he hesitated. Then he nodded and went inside to get the paperwork.
James smirked. "That was smooth," he said.
Nell shot him a glance as she crossed her arms. "For you," she said.
Cera tilted her head. "Is it okay for us to be here?" she asked. Her ears flopped down.
James gave a reassuring nod. "It'll be fine," he responded. "If anyone says something, I will kill them," he stated.
"Master," Cera said as she blushed.
Nell straightened. "Dont," Nell said.
"Danna-sama might or might not," Saeko said.
"I need to go to the Governor's Mansion," Nell said.
James gestured forward. "Alright, we'll come with you. Then we'll make sure Cera and Rachnera get their passes," he said.
Nell considered briefly, then nodded. "Okay," she replied.
With that, they moved toward the Governor's Mansion. They arrived at his Mansion and saw Leillo standing near the entrance.
James approached with ease, raising a hand in greeting. "Hey, Leillo," he said.
Leillo's expression darkened instantly. His hand clenched into a fist. "What are you doing here?" he asked. He looked behind James and saw two new humanoid figures.
The guards reacted immediately, shifting into defensive stances, fingers hovering near their weapons.
"They are with us," Saya said.
Leillo eyed them carefully and signaled his men to stand down. "What can I help you with?" he asked.
James wasted no time. "I want to ask about cursed weapons," he responded.
"Cursed weapons?" Leillo asked. He looked nervous.
James gestured towards Rachnera's axe. "Like the one she carries?" he asked.
Leillo narrowed his eyes, studying the weapon carefully before shaking his head. "That is not a cursed weapon," he replied.
James smiled. He thought the Ultimatrix removed the curse entirely. He thought what would have been a dangerous weapon, now seemed like an ordinary weapon. James knew there had to be more to it. He looked closely at her double headed axe and the Ultimatrix symbol.
Leillo sighed. "Cursed weapons have a unique presence. They unsettle everyone around them. My men aren't reacting to that axe, which means there's nothing sinister," he responded. He crossed his arms. "True cursed weapons have the ability to take over their users, to amplify their strength, making them more dangerous," he added.
"So my weapon isn't cursed?" Rachnera asked. Her fingers tightened around the axe's grip.
"No. Otherwise, you'd already be under its control unless you have exceptional will," Leillo responded. "Please, try not to cause trouble while you're here," he added.
"We'll try," Lois responded.
Leillo exhaled. "Do you have any business here?" he asked. He wanted them to go.
James crossed his arms casually. "We plan to explore a bit, then return home before coming back later," he responded.
Leillo gave him a long stare before muttering, "For a human, you are more dangerous than a demon lord," he stated.
Saya murmured under her breath, barely audible. "He can be a demon."
James chuckled lightly before turning to Nell. "Did you need to ask anything else?" he asked.
Nell shook her head. "I've already gotten what I needed," she replied.
"Alright. We will be heading off," James said as they took their leave. They walked towards the town centre.
"He seemed pathetic," Racherna said.
"He might be under great burden," Cera said.
"He is," Nell said.
He turned toward Nell again. "Nell, can you take Cera and Rachnera to get their ID cards? We'll meet up later," he asked.
Nell hesitated briefly, then nodded. "Okay," she replied. She and the others headed off, leaving James and the rest standing in the streets of the town.
"Shouldn't we go with them?" Saya asked.
"They are only down the road and we all don't need to go back," James responded.
Jasmine stretched her arms. "So, what now?" she asked.
"There's a weapon shop right there," he noted, nodding toward the building.
"We do have plenty of weapons," Saya asked.
"I wonder what else they have gotten," Lois responded.
The group made their way toward the shop, the worn sign above the entrance displaying crossed swords and a shining shield. The stone walls and iron-trimmed windows gave the store a classic medieval feel.
James stepped forward, pushing open the heavy wooden door. They saw a number of axes and swords. "A medieval store," Saya remarked.
"It has a different feel," Saeko added.
They walked in and looked at the different weapons. James walked to a barrel and saw a bunch of swords. He saw a rusting sword and picked it up. He looked at the handle and smiled.
Saeko walked towards him. "Danna-sama what have you found?" she asked. She looked at the rusty blade.
"This is a sword used by an ancient hero," James responded. "It is rusty for now but I wonder if we put in the Pack-A-Punch Machine it would improve," he added.
"We can try Danna-sama," Saeko responded. She smiled and looked at him.
"Did anyone else find anything interesting?" James asked.
"Not really," Lois responded. "I prefer shooting," she added.
"If it's not by you then I wont accept it," Jasmine added.
Saya stayed silent. She also would only use weapons given by James like the Ray Gun. She had no real interest in getting these ones. They had much superior weapons.
"Okay, let's leave," James said as he purchased the sword and left. He thought it was cheap for the potential value it could bring.
