Y/n POV
Kelly: "So, my name is Kelly."
She smiled warmly.
Y/N: "Hmm, hello. I'm Y/N."
She nodded and smiled back.
Kelly: "You're beautiful."
I smiled, a little surprised.
Y/N: "Well… same to you."
She laughed, and I glanced at the bags beside her.
Y/N: "Ooh, let me help you."
I reached for the big one, but she lifted it like it weighed nothing.
Kelly: "I'll take this one. You grab the small one."
I stared at her for a second.
Y/N: "Wow, you're strong!"
She just laughed casually.
Kelly: "I work out."
Y/N: "Oh… I'm starting today. Carrying this bag is step one."
We both laughed as I opened the door for her. We placed the bags inside like a mini workout session.
Kelly: "It's small, but okay."
She shrugged, and I smiled.
Y/N: "Alright, you can change now. I'll be in my room—and if you need anything, just call me."
She nodded, and I headed to my room, pulling out my phone to call Emma.
Y/N: "Hey Emma, did you send Kelly?"
Emma: "Send? Kelly who?"
Y/N: "Uh… this girl showed up this morning saying she's here to live with me."
Emma: "Okay, weird. But Y/N… I didn't send anyone."
Y/N: "Oh, don't worry. I'll just ask her myself. Anyway, how's your day?"
Emma: "Great! Y/N, I wish you were here. Everyone misses you."
I smiled at her words.
Y/N: "I miss you guys too."
Emma: "By the way, Max and I are coming to see you in five days!"
Y/N: "Really? That's awesome!"
After chatting for a while, I hung up and went to the kitchen. To my surprise, James was there made pasta I look at it, then Kelly walked in, now dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants, looking completely at home.
Y/N: "Hey, I was just about to call you. Let's eat something."
She nodded and sat down.
Kelly: "Really? Let's eat!"
I pulled out a chair and sat across from her.
Y/N: "Hey, I forgot to ask… who told you I was looking for a roommate?"
She suddenly coughed. I handed her a glass of water and she took a sip.
Kelly: "Oh yeah, it was Coel—the actor, you know?"
Y/N: "Oh…"
My expression dropped a bit.
Kelly: "You know him?"
Y/N: Sighs "Unfortunately, yes."
She burst out laughing.
Kelly: "You're something, Y/N. I mean—I love him. Like, crazy love. Every girl out there is obsessed with him!"
Y/N: "Yeah… I wouldn't know about that."
Kelly: "Well, he told me not to tell anyone he sent me here."
"O-oh." I nodded casually, even though my brain already started connecting dots.
Kelly: "So, are you working with Coel—?"
"No, no. I'm an assistant at CS Company." I answered quickly.
Kelly: "That's Kayden's, right?"
"Yeah." I gave a polite smile.
Kelly: "Well… you should probably stay away from him, you know."
"What?" I raised an eyebrow, pretending to be confused but keeping my tone light.
Kelly: "He's a total playboy. Didn't you know?"
"Playboy?" I repeated, tilting my head slightly. My stomach dropped, but I kept my face neutral.
Kelly: "Mhm. He's always super sweet at first—like really nice to girls. And once he's done, he just walks away like they never existed."
"Oh… I-I didn't know that," I said with a small laugh, brushing some imaginary lint off my shirt to avoid looking at her too long.
Kelly: "Yeah, I used to work for him. He's super flirty. Touchy too. Like always in your space."
I nodded slowly, lips pressed into a casual smile, but inside my head was buzzing.
Don't show it. Don't react. It's fine. You don't care. Right? The doorbell rang
I got up and opened the door—only to see Kayden standing there, dressed like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
Y/N: "W–fuck!"
My brain short-circuited. I totally forgot I had to go to the office today.
Kayden: "Don't worry. I'll wait."
He said it so calmly, like catching me mid-crisis was normal.
Y/N: "Sorry! Just—give me one minute!"
I dashed to my room like a cartoon character, throwing on jeans and a crop top in record time. My hair? Eh, close enough. I grabbed my stuff and rushed out, nearly tripping over my own bag.
Kayden was still standing by the door, probably wondering how I survive daily life.
Y/N: "Hey, come inside."
I looked around—Kelly had disappeared. Hopefully not into the walls.
Kayden: "Are you ready?"
I nodded and bolted toward him. He chuckled as I grabbed his hand like I was about to drag him to a fire.
Y/N: "Let's go!"
Kayden: "Slow down, Y/N. I'm not a racehorse."
We slid into the car. I was about to lecture him on how we were late—
Y/N: "What are you doing? We're gonna be la—"
He suddenly kissed my cheek. My brain stopped working. Again.
Kayden: "Don't worry, I'm the boss, remember?"
I sighed. Oh yeah… he is the boss.
He leaned over to help me with the seatbelt. Smooth as always. Then he started the car.
Kayden: "You're cute, Y/N."
I squinted at him.
Y/N: "Cute? I just had a heart attack two minutes ago!"
He laughed like that was the reaction he was aiming for.
Kayden: "Aww, my poor baby."
I rolled my eyes dramatically.
Y/N: "I'm fine now, thank God."
Kayden: "So… who was that girl? I saw her peek at me, then she disappeared like a ninja."
Y/N: "Oh, you mean Kelly?"
Kayden: "Kelly?"
Y/N: "Yeah. She's my new roommate."
Kayden: Frowns "Roommate?"
Y/N: "I was living alone, so I thought—"
Kayden: "I told you you're supposed to move in with me!"
His voice rose in frustration.
Y/N: "Ahh, don't worry about it now."
I waved it off casually, though his sigh was heavy.
Why is he so annoyed? I mean, does he really want me to live with him or… what? And if I did, then what
*Why he desperately want me to move with him * Kelly words hit in my mind *Playboy*
I slowly turned my eyes to look at him. He looked calm… too calm. Damn it. What is he up to?
Kayden: "Y/N, we're here."
We stepped into the office, and I quickly settled in, arranging my things and pulling up the schedule for the day.
Y/N: "Hmm… sir, we have to visit some sites today."
Kayden glanced at me and gave a small nod.
Kayden: "Yeah? Alright, let's go then."
I grabbed the file and my tablet, and we headed back outside. This time, a driver was already waiting for us. Kayden slid into the back seat—the spot I usually took.
I opened the front passenger door, ready to sit up front like a good assistant, but—
Kayden: "Y/N, sit here."
He patted the seat beside him like it was some kind of royal invitation.
I sighed internally but obeyed, walking around the car and sliding in next to him.
Kayden: "Can you check the contractor's name and confirm the schedule?"
I nodded and got to work, flipping through files like a bossy secretary from a drama series.
---
The rest of the day was a blur—site to site, meetings, inspections, and more. Kayden was totally in work mode: eyes sharp, suit perfect, and surprisingly focused. I took notes like a machine, jotting down important points as we walked through construction zones like we were filming a business documentary.
---
Kayden: "Let's eat something. I'm starving."
I shook my head, offering him a polite smile.
Y/N: "Don't worry, Kelly must be waiting for me."
He sighed—big, dramatic sigh—but nodded like he was letting me go on parole.
The driver dropped me off, and Kayden didn't say much as I stepped out. I gave him a small wave.
Y/N: "Thanks for the ride, sir."
And just like that, I was back home… and somehow still confused about this man.
