Chapter 1 - Epilogue - A mother to a child.

‎Nothing is much more important for an elder than to witness their creation bear fruit at the pinnacle of their age. As it would be for a cattle to care for their offsprings, so it shall be for a human to nurture theirs. A mother embraces their child not the moment after their first breath, but at the very moment of their conception. They embrace them since the beginning of their heart beat and so does the child listen to their mother's laughter.

‎In a field of grass, a mother prepares supper while the child tinkers with his toys. She called to him and her child, with obedience, followed her mother's voice. And then the child asks of her mother, "Mom, if your birthday comes, what would you want as a birthday present?"

‎And the mother replies as she arranges the flowers on their table,"Whatever you bring, I know that I would love it. Since it was given by you—my beloved son, with thought and heart. Therefore, I will love everything that you will have."

‎Then the child asks, "If it were a bad present, would you still receive it?"

‎She looks unto her child but instead of feeling dread by his wonder, she was joyful by his neverending curiosity. She then answers,"A bad present? There's no such thing. If I were to perceive you as my son, whom I love in the entire universe, nothing that you give that I receive will be bad. However..." the child tilts his head, wondering about her mother's hesitation. She gives him a gentle smile and continues on saying,"However, should you be astray from love, then always remember that your mother still loves you and wishes to embrace your lost soul. So that you would come back from the loathsome solitude to the warmth of love and companionship."

‎The child gazes at her mother, not by how beautiful her face was nor how her speech was poetic enough to have a bard be swoon over to her. But because it didn't follow his sense of logic.

‎"Your heart spoke louder again, mom."

‎Her mother chuckled at his comment and replied, "And that's why you're the brain within this household, Andrew." She then ruffled his head.

"But following your logic and by analyzing your favorite things to do, I think I should give you an invention which would allow your garden to grow into a much healthier one and to have much more stable plants! An enhanced fertilizer kind of present!

"Hm...I prefer them natural, dear. Besides, it's not just by one external source of energy that one existence is able to grow, correct?"

‎The child grunts in disappointment as he sits down on his chair and says, "I guess you're right..."

‎The mother looks at her child once more before handling to him his cutlery. Her heart warms everytime she reminisces about how he's growing at such a fast pace. She hands to him his cutlery and says, "The best thing that a mother would love to have as a birthday present...is for their child to grow into a dependable adult, whose strength is sought out for and their wisdom are greatly asked by individuals who yearn for the truth. And like you, my beloved son, who loves to seek the truth of our world, I wish that you would grow into such a man so that you can help others just as much as I've loved and cared for you."

‎The child gazes at his mother. He gazed at her smile that gives warmth to the heart, her gentle eyes that sees through the goodness of everyone and finally, he embraces her. The embrace that lets him listen to her mother's heartbeat, to make sure that she's in much greater health than yesterday. And indeed, she was.

‎But then, that very sound of heartbeat echoed throughout a cold room, every 1.5 seconds. The very heartbeat that he only hears during their embrace is now displayed and being monitored by a device to keep track of her health. She sleeps as if she's never had a sleep in her lifetime and she breathes as if her troubles have finally been released. The cool atmosphere produced by the air-conditioning makes his nerves uneasy and the silence of solitude gets his mind anxious. The embrace that he craves, for how long will he wait? The eyes that sees the goodness of all, when will it awake? The smile that gives his heart warmth, how much longer until she speaks again with her poetic speeches? The mother that he always cherishes, for how much longer until she's recovered?

‎The child has finally grown into a man, but the man questions during her sleep, "How am I supposed to be dependable for other's sake...when I can't even aid my own mother?"
