Satoru Gojo was too stunned to say or think anything of the situation that he was in right now. Just a moment ago, he was very much dead in the battle of Shinjuku against Sukuna. But right now, he was suspended inside some glass tube, floating in the water, an oxygen mask attached to his face.
Even with his eyes closed, he could see what was in front of him. He was in some high-tech white room, wires and tubes attached to the glass tube that he was in, and several people in white coats worked on the consoles and computers that were on one side of the room.
He heard one of the women speaking in English, reading out a report about him to a middle-aged man with dark-grey hair, wearing glasses. "Subject S-007, a full scan of the subject has been completed. Monster genes- none. DNA reports show that he is completely human, but even with our specialized tools, we've only been able to extract a minimum amount of DNA samples."
"His skin, muscles, and bones are unprecedentedly tougher, close to that of a high-level Supe. However, no Compound V has been found in his system. Lastly, his exceptional healing capabilities. That too was a significant obstructor in the sample collection, every scratch heals in seconds."
She then handed over the tablet to the man, who just scrolled for a moment. Satoru thought to himself, 'Humm… Seems like they haven't noticed the Cursed Energy yet. Or they don't even know about it.' He decided to wait a few more minutes, eavesdropping on what they were saying. This whole thing screamed shady, rather than just some scientists curious about a handsome specimen, so Satoru was curious too.
He was still alive, and that was a plus point for him. Once he figured out what was even happening, he could go wherever he wanted. But there was something strange here.
Even though the surroundings and the people had some amount of Cursed Energy in them, there were no Cursed Spirits even within miles from this place. He couldn't sense a single cursed spirit within that area. That meant that either he was far from Japan, too far, or…
The man holding the tablet spoke again. "Humm… Strange, we found him along with that red-haired woman in that heap of the monster corpses. Have you found anything in either M-007 or S-007 that relates them to each other?"
"None, in fact. M-007 is neither human nor a monster. Her appearance is that of a female human, but she's far from it. Something we've never come across," she replied.
"Humm… Good, compile me a comprehensive report for both of them. Mr. Edgar needs to know about this," he ordered the woman. Before the woman could take the tablet back, a loud crack echoed throughout the room. It was the tube that Satoru was in.
The glass broke outwards, spilling all the water. Satoru was on the floor, fully naked, the oxygen mask still attached to his face. He slowly got up, his athletically muscular features looking more defined under the white light of the room, water slowly dripping off of him.
"Ugh, my whole body's sore," Satoru muttered, stretching his back, removing the mask from his face. The woman from earlier quickly dashed towards the nearest console and clicked a button, which started a loud emergency alarm.
The man was asking for some backups in the transponder that he had on his ears. All the white coats had already retreated to the back of the room. The secure glass panel closed in, isolating Satoru.
After finishing his stretch, Satoru looked at the scared white coats and spoke in perfect English. "Yo, got any clothes for me?" Seeing that nobody was responding to him, he just sighed and walked towards the nearby table.
Since the drawer was locked, he just ripped the metallic cabinet out. There were some light green gowns, and he chose the longest one, then quickly covered his body with it.
He then looked back at the people, who seemed scared of him for some reason. 'Too scared even. Do they know me or something? My face is still the same, right? Well whatever.' He just shrugged and walked towards the glass panel and knocked on it.
"Ah, do you mind opening this? I'm getting suffocated in this place, wanna get some fresh air," Satoru said. But instead of replying to him or his request, the man, who seemed like the senior of this place, said, "Don't worry, that glass panel is not something even a military facility would have. It's a high-grade defensive shield developed for situations just like this. So, unless some high-level Supe comes here, there is no way-"
Before he could finish his boring monologue, Satoru, bored and annoyed, just walked through the thick glass panel, tearing through it as if it was a piece of paper. He just scratched the back of his head, ignoring the looks, and walked towards the door.
Before he could touch the handle though, the door got pushed open and out came several armed soldiers. High-tech guns and electric batons in their hands, some with shields.
"Wow, someone had too much money to spare, huh," Satoru said.
"On the ground! Hands in the air!" Every one of them was shouting the same thing. The scientists were watching the scene unfold with tension rising.
The leader shouted, "Wait! Don't kill him!"
That made Satoru chuckle a bit. He just gave a little laugh and said, "Don't blink."
'Huh?' Everyone thought in confusion, and when they blinked, a loud boom echoed throughout the room, Satoru disappearing and reappearing at his position. But now, it was a completely different scene.
Satoru was standing still with a soldier unconscious in his grip, the rest of them were scattered throughout the room, some still writhing in pain while some were just out cold.
Satoru looked back at the scared group of white coats and said, "You, old man… Come with me. The rest of you can do whatever you want."
The leader reluctantly walked towards him. Satoru saw the name tag on his shirt, "Dr. Desmond, huh. So, tell me, Dr. Desmond, where are we? Before that, kill that camera on your shirt button."
"Wha- I don't-" Before he could reply, Satoru just came close and crushed the small camera with his fingers. With a smirk, he started walking through the hallway that came after the room.
"So, where is this place?" Satoru asked again.
"We- We're in a secret facility." He just went silent after that, and Satoru looked back at him with a dumbfounded expression.
"Wow, thanks for that incredible information, which I never would have deduced myself, Mr. genius. The location of this place!" Satoru said, his voice full of sarcasm.
"Oh, we're in the middle of the Brazilian rainforest," he replied, and they continued walking.
"Why here?"
"This is Vought's off-the-record location. We conduct- This is a secret research facility." He was almost about to reveal what they actually do in this place.
"Vought?" Satoru muttered in confusion, then asked, "Humm… Do you know about Cursed Energy?"
The doctor just tilted his head, and Satoru didn't need any answer. 'Humm, that's interesting.' "What were those monsters you were speaking of?"
"How did you hear-"
"Just answer the damn question."
"We frankly don't know," he replied.
"Huh?" Satoru looked back, not believing him one bit, since they were speaking like they knew something of this.
"In a broad term, yes. Monsters appeared out of nowhere, right after the second world war. And we've been able to study their cells to some success. They are a life form made up of similar composition to ours."
"Maybe aliens?" Satoru asked curiously.
"No, we've long since ruled that out. It's just that we came to know them in the 20th century, but they are very much the product of Earth."
"Sigh, alright, take me-" Satoru was about to say something when the door on the other side of the hallway was smashed open, and in came more soldiers, now every one of them armed with guns.
The doctor behind Satoru shouted, "He's here! This is the one! Take him down." Satoru just gave him the side eye, rolling them afterwards.
Their leader quickly ordered, "Shoot them all. Leave no one alive." Hearing that, Satoru just smirked and looked back. "See that? Snitches get done like bitches."
The doctor was wide-eyed. Why the fuck would Vought suddenly want all of them dead? Before he could close his eyes, the rain of gunfire started.
In a few seconds, the bright flashes of bullets coming out of the nozzles were the only thing lighting up this entire corridor, except for the few dim lights here and there. Both Satoru and the doctor were directly in front of the line of fire.
After a full minute of shooting and the doctor clutching himself, screaming in pure horror, the firing stopped. As the smoke cleared and some of the lights flickered back, one of the soldiers, seeing the scene in front of him, muttered, "What the fuck…"
Satoru was standing still, hundreds of bullets suspended in front of him, flickering with something that was stopping their momentum as some were still spiraling but not even moving an inch closer to the white-haired man.
"I- I'm alive?" Desmond muttered, looking up at Satoru. He was wide-eyed, seeing the bullets stopped by some kind of barrier. 'Telekinesis?' he thought.
"Quite the lucky man you are…" "Not so sure about these fodders though," he added.
"Reload! Reload!" They started barking like distressed little pups. But Satoru was already standing between them. He disappeared with a small whisp of implosion in the air, and a soldier's head exploded, another's limbs got crushed; a frenzy of screams and cries of horrors exploding afterwards. What followed next could only be described as carnage.
There were a few dozen more soldiers that came afterwards, but one by one, each one met the same fate as the others. Their advanced gear, weapons, nothing mattered; Satoru tore through them like an unstoppable bullet, painting the whole corridor in blood and gore.
After a few more seconds, the doctor stood still, his legs shaking in fear, sweat streaming down his spine. The speed, precision, and sheer madness with which that man just unleashed that slaughter.
'Just a human? What a load of crap…' He thought, as Satoru slowly walked back to him. The doctor was wide-eyed again. While it was evident that the man wasn't even slightly out of breath, there was one other scary thing: not a single drop of blood was on him.
There was a smirk on Satoru's face. "Sigh, as I was saying… Take me to that red-haired woman you were talking about," he said.
Desmond had said that they found him with her, so that meant he could have met her before. He was interested because, as far as he knew, he'd woken up right after "dying" in Shinjuku.
But there was a black spot in his memories. 'Maybe seeing this woman would clear some of it,' he thought as they continued walking.
After a while of changing corridors and rooms, they finally stood in front of a room separated by another one of those thick glass walls. "She's on the other side," Desmond spoke, standing in front of the door.
He looked back at where Satoru was standing. His expression was serious this time. His face was neutral, but those eyes that were literally staring into his soul were sending shivers down his spine.
Satoru looked at the floor with a frown for a few seconds. Desmond, getting impatient, asked, "Uh, any problems-" To his horror, before he could finish speaking, Satoru took a single step and appeared right in front of him, grabbing him by his neck and lifting him up in the air.
"I'll ask you this one time. No lies, no bullshit… What's in the deepest part of this facility, right below this room?"
"What-" Desmond just choked that out when Satoru tightened his grip. Feeling his head about to explode, he finally relented and shouted, "It's a dumping site. We dispose of useless dead bodies of humans and monsters."
Satoru released his grip, letting the man fall on the floor. "Cough! Cough! Cough! Haah, haah, haah…" His breathing became normal after a few moments. He looked up, only to see Satoru standing in the middle of the room.
"What are you-" Before the doctor could finish asking, Satoru raised his right foot, bluish-white energy flaring out from the sole of his foot. With a frown, he slammed the foot on the floor.
"BOOM!" A loud explosion rocked the entire facility, and the floor that took that kick caved down, Satoru falling down along with the floor, Desmond falling down along with him. His body suddenly got enveloped by a blue shimmering energy, much like the one that Satoru had just used to break the floor.
They crashed into another room below, and the floor of that room too caved in, going through another. After about twenty-five floors down, they finally reached the lowest pit. Satoru was now standing in a dark square room, closed from all sides; it probably had some kind of connection with the upper room, but that was all destroyed now.
What he was most focused on was the pile of dead and mangled bodies that he was standing on right now. Desmond was lying on his back a bit ahead.
"Ugh… My back…" He muttered, as the blue energy surrounding him finally dissipated, and he got smacked down on the dead and decayed bodies. He writhed in disgust, sliding backwards, but there was no empty space in this absurdly large room.
Satoru could count a few thousand dead and decayed men, women, and children. Then there were creatures that he'd never seen before. 'Monsters, huh? How ironic.' Satoru looked back at the doctor.
Enveloped in Infinity, he hovered towards one of the large monster bodies and examined it closer. 'Humm, not like those Cursed Wombs… Chemical and biological composition is the same, but the anatomy. Adapted for water movements, this one seems like some kind of water creature…'
Satoru turned back to the doctor again, who was just shaking in one corner of the room, most likely because it was very dark here, and he was the only one who could see clearly.
He just appeared beside him and grabbed him by the back of his neck, then warped back just outside the room of which he'd broken through at first.
He was levitating in the middle of the big hole, pointing his hand at the glass wall, another grabbing onto the man like a bag of trash. They suddenly went through the glass panel, breaking the wall completely and into the room where the red-haired woman was kept.
Satoru threw Dr. Desmond on one side of the room and looked straight at the big glass tube, inside which was the woman, kept suspended just like him. That smirk from before came back to his face, and he said, "I know you're awake. And I'm pretty sure you don't need my help."
To the doctor's surprise, the glass tube broke down, spilling all the water out, and the naked woman with long auburn hair, water dripping down her curves, now stood in front of the broken tube, slowly removing the oxygen mask.
While the doctor was shamelessly glancing at her tits, Satoru was busy looking at something else; her golden eyes with hypnotic circular patterns.
Satoru suddenly had a flash of memory, a scene that just resurfaced after seeing those eyes. The woman and he were fighting hundreds of monsters, both gleaming with excitement.
"Sigh, that's not how you save a damsel, you know," the woman spoke. Her voice was strangely seductive, not suggestive, but something that would melt the hearts of even strong men.
"Well, if you're a damsel, then I must be a helpless princess," Satoru replied with a chuckle as he walked towards the table on the side of the room, taking out a blue gown from the drawer.
He handed it to her without taking his eyes off of her eyes and asked, "Do we know each other?"
She smoothly put on the cloth, replying, "No, but I remember fighting along with you. My memories are hazy, but those were not devils. Strange, that hasn't happened before." She muttered at the end and thought, 'I remember Denji-kun killing me, but… Sigh.' She was slightly irritated by that slight pain in her chest. She knew it wasn't anything physical, and that frustrated her the most.
"Huh? You alright?" Satoru asked, and she replied, "Yes." She then looked at the doctor and said, "Have you planned to do something to him?"
Satoru just shrugged. He'd have killed the piece of shit anyway. "Then, allow me." She walked towards him and pointed her hand at him. A greyish-black steel chain flew out of her hand and attached itself onto the man's head. She stayed like that for a while. 'Is she reading his mind? Creepy,' Satoru thought and waited for a while.
After a while, the chain detached itself from the man, and she pointed her finger at him. "Bang!" she said in a low voice, the man then got a giant hole punched through him, killing him on the spot.
"So, what did you find from him?" Satoru asked. Without turning around, she replied, "Who said I'd share anything?"
Satoru just tilted his head and replied, "What are you doing right now, miss damsel?" The same chain was hovering right in front of his forehead.
"Strange, it usually works this way," she said without a change in her expression.
"Meh, technical problems. Happens to the best of us-" He couldn't finish saying when the woman pointed her finger at him and said, "Bang! Bang!" twice.
Satoru's eyes followed the two blasts of telekinetic force that got stopped by Infinity, the force rippling backwards, destroying the back half of the room and the kinetic energy ripping through several other rooms.
Just a second later, dozens of weapons; swords, great-swords, knives, halberds, battleaxes, all hovered above Satoru's head, "Cool." Satoru said with a smirk.
An outward force made all those weapons fly back to her, while Satoru stood still. 'That's not just a simple barrier; I don't think physical attacks are going to work' She managed to deduce that much and was about to make another move when something suddenly jolted her towards Satoru.
She was slightly surprised, trying to whisk away, but Satoru, as soon as she got near, grabbed both of her arms, raised his knee up, striking her chin.
She was disoriented when he let her go; he then quickly turned around, executing a back kick that landed square on her abdomen, making her squint.
'This isn't just a normal strike… It's being amplified by something,' she thought as she crashed through the wall, ripping through several rooms, until after a few seconds, she finally came to a stop. She tried to get up but suddenly got on her all fours, as a jolt of dizziness hit her. That kick had rattled her bones.
'Is this… Pain?' she thought. An actual physical pain. How long had it been? She didn't know the answer to that. Though, before she could get up, she felt a sudden weight on her back. Satoru was now casually seated on her back, resting his chin on his palm.
"So, miss damsel. Shall we start from new?" he asked. He was only giving her a chance because she was in the same circumstance as him.
As of right now, for whatever reason, Makima couldn't feel her contract with the Japanese government or any other people except the devils, anymore, and even using the future sight from the future Devil, all she could she was her mangled dead body, in every scenario. So drawing out this fight could prove fatal, specially if her attacks aren't even reaching the man.
She'd hoped she'd be able to control him but, "Sigh, alright… Can you get off of me first," she said, accepting it for now. 'Strong and fast, and some abilities he didn't even use…' she thought to herself.
"I'm Satoru Gojo, by the way." Satoru spoke, getting off of her and leaning on the cracked concrete wall with his arms folded.
She got up, wiping the blood from her nose and dusting off the hospital gown. "Makima, just Makima," she replied.
