Chapter 7 - conflict

In the second week of school, I had basically adapted to school life. I went to class on time, ate on time, and went to bed on time every day. Life was regular and monotonous. But the peace was soon broken.

That night, when I just returned to the dormitory from the library, I saw that Lucas and Henry looked unhappy.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"A few seniors from the second year of high school came to see you." Lucas whispered, "They told you to come to the woods behind the playground at 7 o'clock tomorrow night."

"What's up?"

"I don't know, but it's definitely not a good thing." Henry pushed his glasses.

"Have you offended anyone recently?"

I shook my head. Since I came to school, I have hardly had any conflicts with anyone.

"Forget it, let's talk about it tomorrow." I lay on the bed and closed my eyes.

The next day's classes went on as usual. But I could sense that someone was watching me from behind. During breaks, there was more chatter in the corridor than usual.

"I heard someone wants to teach the new guy a lesson."

"Who is so bold?"

"It seems to be someone from the senior high school sports department."

"That freshman is done."

After dinner, I went back to the dormitory to rest. Lucas and Henry were not there, and Noah was reading.

"Aren't you going?" Noah asked without looking up.

"Where are you going?"

"Behind the playground."

I checked the time. It was already 6:50. "I don't think it's necessary."

"It will be more troublesome if you don't go." Noah put down the book and looked at me.

"In school, there are some rules that cannot be broken."

"What rules?"

"Rules made by the strong."

I thought about it, stood up and walked to the door. "Then I'll go take a look."

The grove behind the playground was very quiet, and the moonlight shone through the leaves onto the ground. I walked to the agreed location and saw that there were already five people waiting for me.

The leader was a tall boy with well-developed muscles and looked very strong. Behind him stood four equally tall boys, all of whom had the physique of an athlete.

"Are you the new one?" The leading boy walked towards me. "My name is Daniel, the head of the sports department in the second grade."

"My name is Liam."

"I heard that you are very arrogant and don't even take the seniors seriously." Daniel stopped in front of me and looked down at me.

"I don't understand what you're talking about."

"Don't understand?" Daniel sneered, "Then I'll make you understand."

He suddenly struck out and punched me in the face. It was fast and powerful, but in my eyes, the punch was as slow as a snail.

I dodged sideways, and Daniel's fist grazed my cheek. He was stunned for a moment, obviously not expecting my reaction to be so fast.

"Interesting." He moved his wrist, "Let's do it again."

This time he used a combination of punches, a left hook followed by a right straight punch, his movements were smooth and coherent. It was obvious that he had indeed practiced some fighting techniques.

But it's still too slow for me.

I took two steps back to avoid all his attacks, and then I punched him in the ribs the moment he retracted his fist.

"Bang!"

A dull crash sounded, and Daniel stumbled back a few steps, his face turning pale in an instant.

"You..." He covered his ribs and gasped.

When the other four people saw this scene, they immediately surrounded them.

"Dare to hit Daniel?"

"court death?"

"Let's go together!"

Four people rushed towards me at the same time, punching and kicking me in various parts of my body. In their eyes, I was just a skinny freshman in high school, and four people were more than enough to deal with me.

But they were wrong.

My body shuttled between the attacks of the four men, and each dodge was just right. My counterattacks were simple and effective, and each punch hit their vital parts.

In less than a minute, all four of them fell to the ground, groaning in pain.

Daniel looked at everything in front of him, his eyes full of shock and fear. "Who are you?"

"I'm your father." I brushed the dust off my hands. "If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."

"Wait." Daniel stood up with difficulty, "This matter won't end like this."

"Whatever you want." I walked out of the grove without looking back.

When I returned to the dormitory, Lucas and Henry were both in bed. When they saw me come in, they immediately sat up.

"How is it? Are you okay?" Lucas asked nervously.

"It's okay." I lay on the bed, "I'm going to sleep."

"Are you really okay?" Henry couldn't believe it.

"It's really okay."

Noah poked his eyes out from behind the book, looked at me deeply, and then continued reading.

The next morning, the whole school was talking about what happened last night. Various versions of the story circulated among the students, becoming more and more outrageous.

"I heard that the new guy beat down five people from the sports department by himself."

"That's impossible. He looks so thin."

"It's absolutely true. My friend saw it with his own eyes."

"The people in the sports department are all trained martial artists. How could they be defeated by a freshman?"

During the break, many people were secretly observing me. Some people were curious, some were in awe, and some were afraid.

Ariel also looked at me strangely. "Did you really defeat them all?"

"Just good luck."

"Are you lucky enough to beat five people?"

"Maybe they didn't have enough to eat yesterday."

Ariel laughed at my answer. "You have a sense of humor."

But I know that this is far from over. The Sports Department has a special status in the school, and they will not give up easily.

Sure enough, after school that afternoon, as soon as I walked out of the school gate, I was surrounded by a group of people.

This time there were more people, about a dozen or so, and not all of them were students, some of them looked like people from society.

"That's him." Daniel pointed at me, with a bandage on his left chest.

The leader was a young man in his twenties with blond hair and tattoos on his arms. He was smoking a cigarette and had a fierce look in his eyes.

"Boy, I heard you're quite good at fighting." He exhaled a puff of cigarette, "I'm Daniel's cousin, just call me Brother Tiger."

"What's wrong?" I asked calmly.

"It's nothing serious." Brother Hu put out his cigarette, "I just want to communicate with you."

"I don't think there's anything to communicate."

"You think not, but I think so." Tiger's eyes became dangerous. "In this city, there are some people who cannot be offended."

"Like you?"

"Like me."

The crowd around him began to disperse, and passers-by kept a distance from him. Obviously, everyone knew this Tiger Brother and knew that he was not someone to be trifled with.

I looked around and saw more than a dozen people, some of whom were strong and looked very experienced. If we took action here, it would definitely cause a big commotion.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"It's very simple." Brother Hu took a step forward, "Kneel down and apologize to my brother, and then people who see us in the future will have to take a detour."

"What if I say no?"

"Then we can only solve it in other ways."

I thought about it and nodded. "Okay."

Brother Hu was stunned for a moment, obviously not expecting me to give in so easily. "Very good, it seems you are a sensible person."

"But not now." I continued, "There are too many people here today, it won't have a good effect."

"So when do you say that?"

"Tonight at ten o'clock, still in the woods behind the playground."

Tiger and Daniel looked at each other and finally nodded. "Okay, tonight at ten o'clock."

"Remember, you are the only one allowed to come."

"That's what I meant."

The crowd dispersed and I walked towards school with my schoolbag on my back, but my heart was full of anticipation.

For seven years, I have been controlling my power, my desire to kill. But now, it seems that someone has offered it to me.

The blood wolf was stirring inside me, and it also felt my excitement.

"Master, are we going to fight?" The voice of the Blood Wolf sounded in my mind.

"Yes," I answered in my mind, "it's time to fight."
