When Nick Fury saw that S.H.I.E.L.D. ranked only tenth, he felt a bit of satisfaction; at least, S.H.I.E.L.D. had made it onto the list.
Still, he couldn't hide his disappointment at the ranking. S.H.I.E.L.D. was known as the Shield of All Humanity, the strongest defense organization on Earth—yet it barely made it into the top ten.
It's important to note that this ranking didn't include countries or civilizations—only organizations.
In other words, excluding nations and civilizations, S.H.I.E.L.D. just barely deserved tenth place? What the hell is going on?
One must remember that S.H.I.E.L.D. was backed by the World Security Council, which represented nearly all of humanity.
So how could S.H.I.E.L.D. be considered "weak" to this extent?
As disappointment filled him, Nick Fury began pondering the reason behind S.H.I.E.L.D.'s low ranking.
Could there really be an internal threat within the organization?
Fury's brow twitched. He started to realize that the possibility he had been most reluctant to accept... might actually be true.
There was indeed some hidden force infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D.
Otherwise, there's no way the organization would've received such a low evaluation.
As his thoughts spiraled, Isaac Leclerc's chilling words echoed in his mind:
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is always under my surveillance!"
A shiver ran down Nick Fury's spine. If S.H.I.E.L.D. truly had internal issues, this situation could turn catastrophic.
And for some reason, Fury didn't associate this threat with "Hydra" anymore, but directly with Isaac Leclerc.
In his eyes, the danger posed by Hydra was far less than the threat Isaac represented.
[Human Torch]:Shield of Humanity? Your world seems a bit fragile. Are you sure something isn't seriously wrong on your end? The whole of humanity relies on this 'broken shield'? It's backed by every nation, and still ends up at the bottom?
Clearly, the fiery Human Torch couldn't comprehend how a global organization could be so weak.
[Isaac Leclerc]:That's to be expected. S.H.I.E.L.D. has always been full of holes. The so-called "Shield of Humanity" is nothing more than a self-appointed title. It's time we officially introduced the true protector of mankind... @Kamar-Taj.
Isaac had no intention of hiding anymore. Sooner or later, the Marvel List would expose him—better to stir attention toward other organizations that might obstruct him.
But his actions undoubtedly stirred up some anger—especially from a certain prince of Asgard...
[Loki]:You insolent wretch! What are you talking about? We, the Asgardians, are the ones who protect Midgard from invasion, you ignorant mortal!
[Isaac Leclerc]:Haha!
[Loki]:Are you mocking Asgard, you fool?!
When Loki saw that simple "Haha" appear in the chat, his fury erupted. In Asgard, that stupid brother of his always stole the spotlight.
Why—even when he came to Earth—did mortals still mock him? What right did they have?
Meanwhile, Nick Fury was reading the conversation with confusion. Kamar-Taj? Asgard?
Asgard sounded somewhat familiar—it was the mythical land of the gods from Norse mythology. But Kamar-Taj? He'd never heard of it.
For the first time, the ever-confident Nick Fury—who prided himself on understanding the big picture—felt lost.
"Seems like I don't understand this world as well as I thought anymore..." he muttered.
Before he could speak, another unexpected voice entered the chat:
[Hawkeye]:What Asgard are you talking about? I've never even heard of Kamar-Taj. All I know is that S.H.I.E.L.D. protects this world from the shadows. My teammates and I travel the globe dealing with countless supernatural events.
Isaac was a bit surprised to see Hawkeye able to speak in the global chat.
This guy can talk here? Is there an error in the Marvel List system?
Is Hawkeye seriously considered a supernatural being?
With that thought in mind, Isaac posted a question:
[Isaac Leclerc]:Hawkeye, you can really speak in here? Seems like there's something wrong with the criteria of this Marvel List. Are you really classified as a supernatural entity?
[Loki]:I agree with the mortal this time. I just saw your footage, Hawkeye. You're a skilled archer, sure—but to be called a supernatural being? That's absurd!
[Hawkeye]:...
Hawkeye felt insulted. True, he didn't have superpowers, but he was a combat expert and strategist—capable of taking down an entire elite unit on his own. Why was he being treated like a mere ordinary human?
[Hawkeye]:Isaac. Loki. You two, right? Just wait. When the time comes, I'll make you taste my arrows—and shut you up for good!
He was furious. In the world of espionage, Hawkeye was at the top of the game!
[Magneto]:You're not even a mutant, and you dare call yourself a supernatural being? Ridiculous. Just as I thought—your world is pitiful. The fact that Hawkeye is considered exceptional proves it.
Magneto's words stirred the anger of many, including the gods of Asgard themselves.
[Odin]:Even the weakest soldier in Asgard has three times the physical capability of a human from Midgard.
[Wong]:As a sorcerer, I believe I represent the supernatural in our world. Mutants, huh? Why don't we have a little spar when the time comes?
[Stryker]:Mutants? Supernatural beings? You look down on humans, huh? Funny… When your people were strapped to lab tables sobbing, they didn't look so 'super'—more like little white lab rats.
