Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5:MAGIC

Alex took CID out of the cottage to demonstrate how magic works.

Alex was confused as even the kids know how the magic works and use it on a regular basis but CID much older than him is asking to learn magic from someone younger than him. But still Alex was happy to demonstrate his magic skills.

"Magic starts with an enchantment ,"Alex explained ,

"But that's not just words. It needs imagination. You have to see the result clearly in your mind, or the spell collapses."

CID nodded.

"And you need mana. It's inside you. Some people are born with more, some have to dig deeper to find it."

Alex raised his hand slowly. His fingers trembled slightly, not from fear—but focus.

"There are many elements. The ones beginners start with are fire, water, and earth. My affinity is water.

Then the chant came—not in any recognizable language, but pure resonance. To CID's ears, it sounded like cracked glass and thunder braided into speech:

"#𝛗∴⎈→⚡@%#Δ⟢≡⌘…...."

The space between Alex's palms shimmered—humidity gathering like breath over water.

A soft light pulsed. Then—water began to form.

Water spiraled around Alex's fingers, forming a tightly compressed orb of water—a shape more solid than liquid.

Alex took aim at a nearby tree.

FWUUSH!

The water shot forward like a bolt, slamming into the trunk with a heavy impact. Bark cracked. A visible dent carved itself deep into the wood.

CID blinked.

Alex lowered his hand, exhaling calmly.

"That," he said, "is what focused imagination, precise mana, and a clean chant can do."

Now it your turn....CID.

Though the chant was in an alien language he understood it completely...he whispered " Must be some trait for understanding language for this isekai world, he also remembered Alex was speaking an another language which he never heard but was able to communicate with each other"

After Alex's demonstration, CID stepped forward, eyes narrowed, still unsure of what stirred inside him. The air hung thick with moisture, responding—not to a chant, but to his very presence.

He raised his palm, recalling the shape of Alex's water orb—but his mind didn't focus on forming a ribbon or a stream.

It imagined pressure.

Speed.

A wave.

No chant. No guiding words. Just intent.

The moisture around him twisted, spun, and then erupted—not as a spell, but as a force of nature.

FWOOOOOSH!

A compressed surge of water launched from CID's hand like a cannon blast. It hit the same tree—and obliterated it. Bark split apart, the trunk snapped in two, and the wave kept going.

Three more trees behind it were crushed into splinters.

Leaves scattered like ash.

The ground trembled.

Silence followed.

Alex stood frozen, mouth slightly open, eyes wide with disbelief.

CID blinked, stunned himself.

"I—forgot to say the chant," he said, voice guilty. "I didn't mean to destroy so much. Sorry…"

But Alex couldn't even speak.

He'd never seen spellcasting without a chant. Never seen pure intent turn into elemental destruction. Not from a beginner.

Not ever.

Alex swallowed hard.

"That wasn't magic."

He looked up at CID, almost whispering.

"That was something else."

And in that moment, the forest felt smaller—because the power inside CID had just begun to wake, and the world was no longer ready to contain it.

Alex stared at the shattered trees, the damp soil still rippling with the aftermath of CID's spell. He turned, eyes wide with disbelief, then rushed toward him.

"What was that?! You didn't chant anything!"

"How did you form the water so fast?"

"Are you even human?"

CID looked down at his hands, still dripping with remnants of the spell. His expression was blank, unsettled.

"I just… thought of water pushing out. I imagined it hitting something. Hard."

Alex blinked. "That's all? Just imagined it?"

"Yeah. I didn't mean to destroy all of that."

Alex knelt and touched the cracked tree bark.

"But that's the kind of result you get from intermediate compression magic. You haven't trained for that. You didn't even chant."

CID scratched his head, confused.

"Maybe I forgot. Or skipped it? I'm not sure how it works."

Alex narrowed his eyes.

"Where did you learn that trick?"

CID hesitated.

"I didn't learn. I just… did it."

Alex whispered under his breath.

"This shouldn't be possible…"

Alex asked "Was you this strong from the birth?"

CID replied "No, it took me a lot of effort to just kill a level 10 fish, how can i be strong..."

Alex asked " Level.....what is level?"

CID asked "You dont know?,Do you know about status window....?

Alex said"I think you lost your mind after using that much mana hehhe"

CID knew from Alex comments that status window was something special to CID but even that special thing was snatched away from him making him to suffer.

CID told Alex that he might be right.....closing this story forever , it was a secret that CID could not tell to anybody.

"CID," he said, voice firm but not angry, "you need to learn to control your mana. That kind of power—unfocused—it can hurt people. Not just monsters. People."

"You don't understand. Magic isn't something you throw around like wild instinct. Without control, mana can harm others. It can even harm you."

CID frowned slightly, glancing at the shattered bark.

"But I didn't feel drained. It didn't hurt me."

Alex crouched near the fallen tree, running a hand across the damage.

"That's what scares me. You're pushing out huge amounts of energy without even knowing how. If your emotions twist in the middle of a cast… it could kill someone."

He stood, meeting CID's eyes.

"You need to learn control. Not to get stronger—but to stay safe. To keep others safe."

CID held his breath for a moment, then nodded slowly.

"Then teach me. I'll learn. Just… don't let me hurt anyone."

Alex gave a small smile.

"Alright. We'll start with mana breathing."

And so began a different kind of training—not for power, but for discipline.
