Cherreads

Chapter 4 - Signatures & Sabotage.

📍Kim Corporation Tower – Private Legal Lounge

The air inside the room was thick with silence. No noise. No distraction. Only the sound of a fountain pen gliding across expensive paper.

Lee Yuvan sat upright in a crisp black button-up — a rare upgrade from his usual hoodie and denim. He looked neat, professional, and slightly nervous. Across from him sat Jennie Kim, exuding cold elegance in a deep navy silk blouse, sleeves rolled halfway as she read the contract for the final time.

Her diamond-studded pen tapped once, twice.

Then she signed.

JENNIE KIM — a name that echoed through Seoul's business world like thunder.

She slid the folder across the table. Yuvan picked up the pen. His fingers trembled slightly — not from fear, but from the surrealness of it all.

One signature, and his life would change.

Not in love. But in leverage.

He signed.

LEE YUVAN

Jennie closed the folder with a soft thud.

"It's done."

"Are you sure… this will work?" Yuvan asked, his voice calm but unsure.

"It already has," Jennie replied coolly, standing up. "Starting today, you are officially my husband. Legally." 😶‍🌫️💍

"But... no one even knows who I am," he said.

Jennie paused by the glass door, turning just slightly.

"Exactly how I want it."

📍Later That Day – Kim Corporation Press Room

Cameras flashed. Reporters scrambled. The giant LED screen behind the podium now glowed with a headline that stunned the corporate world:

> BREAKING: KIM CORPORATION CEO JENNIE KIM TIES THE KNOT IN PRIVATE CEREMONY

Husband's identity kept confidential at request of the family.

Jennie stood alone at the podium in a sleek white blazer dress. She looked like a queen making her royal announcement — calm, collected, untouchable.

"Yes, I've married. It was a private decision made with full consent. My personal life remains personal. But rest assured — my position, my dedication, and my leadership remain unchanged." 👑📰

The reporters buzzed with questions, but Jennie left without another word.

Social media exploded.

#JennieMarried trended worldwide.

Everyone wanted to know: Who is the mystery man?

But Jennie didn't care. It was noise.

And she had bigger problems to deal with.

📍Boardroom, Kim Corporation – That Evening

Unbeknownst to her, a storm brewed within the glass walls of the executive boardroom.

Chairman Do Jae-wook — one of the oldest board members, grey-haired and sly-eyed — smirked as he placed a document folder on the table.

Beside him sat his niece, Minji — ambitious, polished, and always watching Jennie like a hawk.

"She's lost her mind," Jae-wook whispered. "Marrying secretly? Refusing to introduce him? This... weakens her position."

Minji crossed her arms. "The shareholders are already gossiping. They're saying she's distracted. Emotional."

"Perfect," Jae-wook said with a snake-like grin. "It's time we challenge her leadership. Bring a vote of no-confidence. She won't see it coming." 🐍📉

"And if she resists?"

"We expose everything. Find that boy. Leak his name. Ruin her image."

Their laughter echoed through the quiet room, but the danger had just begun.

📍Jennie's Penthouse – Same Night

Yuvan stared at his phone, watching the headlines spiral out of control. He sat on the far side of the penthouse, still unsure how to behave in a place that smelled of luxury and lavender.

Jennie poured herself a glass of wine, looking tired but unreadable.

"You okay with being a ghost?" she asked casually.

He looked up. "I've always been one."

Jennie let out a breath. Not quite a laugh, not quite a sigh.

"Good. Because the sharks are coming."

"What do you mean?"

She turned, her eyes darker than usual. "The board. Some of them want me gone. They're using this marriage to build their case."

Yuvan frowned. "Can't you just tell the truth?"

Jennie smirked coldly. "And admit I paid a stranger to be my husband?" She sipped her wine. "That would be blood in the water."

He stayed quiet. He didn't know this world — suits, secrets, and saboteurs. But something in her voice... something in her fire... it stirred something inside him.

He stepped closer. "So what do we do?"

Jennie looked at him.

A moment passed.

Then she handed him a watch. Elegant. Designer.

"You play the role. You become my husband in the public eye. Appearances, events, dinners. The full illusion."

He took it slowly, fastening the watch on his wrist.

"If that's what it takes."

Jennie studied him. For a moment, something softened in her gaze.

But it vanished as quickly as it came.

"Then let the game begin." 😈🕰️

The contract was signed.

The media was silenced — for now.

But betrayal whispered through the halls of Kim Corporation…

And the wolves were circling. 🐺🔥
