"Be quick dear, we will be leaving for your grandad old house tomorrow by morning " my dad said as I packed my clothes in the box with his help.
We had to move over to my grandparents old home because dad sold our home to be able to afford mom hospital bill.
" sweetie promise me you will be fine"
mum's worried voice filled room when when we visited mom at the hospital.
I kinda understood my mum more than anything else, she was worried and scared at the same time because we were leaving town without her.
" you know we want nothing more than to be there with you but I have to recover first she added
" yeah sure "I hugged her "I hope you get well soon mum"
Dad took in a deep breath before speaking "Em take care of yourself, make sure to take your medication, I would come see you from time to time" he told my mum before leaving the hospital with me.
The next day reached, we arranged our boxes into the Back of the car and before time we were our way to my grandparents house, the journey was long and hectic and finally reached in the middle of the night. The building was old and was some kind of dark arua surrounding it.
Dad held my hand as we walked into the building
I held my dress in fear as I started into the house, the interior design had some weird vibes,it wasn't like our old house, everything here was old it would seem I was living in the nighties.
"maybe being here isn't too awful."
"if it was the price I was going to pay to see my mum get better then I'm willing to do it" I said silently with a low hiss.
I found my way into the living room, there I found pictures of my grandparents and dad when he was little.
Dad showed me to my bedroom. We couldn't arrange the house because we arrived late and needed to get rest.
Dad showed me to my room and instructed I should go take a shower and join him downstairs. After taking a shower I ran downstairs to meet dad already preparing something to eat before going to bed. I ate only a little before going back to my room, laid on my bed watching videos before I finally drifted to sleep.

I woke up in the the middle of the night from a bad dream I saw myself walking in the woods and I could see lots of bright eyes staring at me from the bushes.
I made a noise when I woke up from the dream and I guess it woke my dad beacase he came rushing to my room, he meet me sweeting profusely and asked what was wrong. I told him about the dream I just had and he hug me and told me all was well, I was just having those nightmare because of the new environment.
After assuring me that all was well, he left for his room. He wanted turning off the the lights but I begged him to leave the lights on which he did. I laid on the bed distracting my self with videos on my phone before I finally slept off.

I woke up the next morning to my phone buzzing, it was a call from my best friend Anita. I quickly picked up the phone call, without even greeting me she told me to go check Wechat. I opened her message on Wechat, and saw the pictures and videos she sent.
The pictures were of my boyfriend back at heaven city, I couldn't believe what I just say. I called Anita back "where and when did this happen '' I asked.
" well you know the party xavier invited us to but you couldn't go because you were travelling with your dad that same day" Anita said over the phone.
"yeah, i know about the party" I replied.
"well yesterday at the at the party, your boyfriend Calvin professed his love to Emily and even kissed right at the party" Anita added.
I couldn't believe my eyes, it wasn't even up to a day that I left town and Calvin was already cheating on me and that to with Emily my arch enemy. I was speechless less, I informed my best friend that I was going to call her back, I needed to call Calvin.
I called and called him till he finally picked at the fifth ring. "hey babe, did you get to your grandparents home safely yesterday night" he said over the phone.
"wow, how nice of you to still call me babe after replacing me with someone just a day after I left town" I said to him angrily.
"oh you must have already seen the videos or that long mouthed Anita must have shown them to you" he said.
"babe you see I wasn't the one at fault here, Emily had been asking me out even before you left town but I only accepted her proposal only after you left town because I don't want disrespect you" he added.
"you accepted her, the same day I left and you call that not been disrespectful? I said angrily.
" Emily is the most beautiful girl in school and the most popular, any guy would die to be closed" Calvin added.
"you know what? You and Emily can go to hell for all I care but I want to tell you that Emily is only with you because of me and with time she is going to show you her real colours" I added and immediately ended the call.
He called me back but I never answered them. I took a moment to digest all that has just happened.
Calvin and I had been friends since childhood, ever since we were five and his parents moved to heaven city. We did virtually everything together, my parents and his's were good friends and usually have small family picnic. Everyone calls me and Calvin a couple ever since we were a little and then finally along the line he asked me out which I gladly accepted. Then Anita joined our school and we became inseparable, we were always seen In halls and classrooms together.
I was good in all subjects, Calvin was very good in sports and Anita was good in art and music.
But Emily? She was our enemy or maybe mine because she was always taunting and and raiding me with insults, calling me names and I always wonder why.
Emily was the most popular girl in school and also very rich. Infact her dad was one of the biggest doctors in town and her mom has the biggest law firm in the city. She wears the most expensive clothes and accessories and even has her own personal driver who drives he around.
I have knewEmily way before I knew Anita and Calvin. Even tho Emily's parents were friends with mine we never shared anything in common. She would always taunt me and Calvin would sometimes warn her never to mess with me again and sometimes I stood up for my self.
Now guess what? Calvin was now with that same girl. I sighed. Maybe I wasn't cut out for this world or maybe I don't deserve good things. Emily alway has everything and now a handsome boyfriend while I'm her in this old house, my mom is laying on the bed sick,my dad is just a construction worker and has sold everything we have just to pay mum hospital bills.
After thinking for some time, I decided to go for
a quick jog. I went over to dad but he was still sleeping he must have had a stressful day yesterday.
It was already morning so I could see the whole house properly, the living room was old with rusty chairs and tables lying around. It was like I went back in time but anyways it was our new home now and maybe when mom recovers, dad could renovate the house or maybe get a new one. When I get back home from my morning jog, I'm going to tour the whole house and make videos to post on my tiktok page.
I finally left for my morning jog but while I was at it, i noticed the houses on my way, they were all similar to that of grandparents but with little maintenance while grandparent's house was really old was because it has long be forgotten. Also while I was jogging I noticed people staring at me from their windows and the few people I met on the street were all looking at me strangely without even blinking an eye. I found it weird and after some thoughts decided to shove it off maybe they found it strange that I was jogging and has never seen anyone do so before.
After jogging for a little more time, I headed home. I meet dad already waiting for me at home, he looked really worried "where have you been dear, I was worried" he asked.
"I'm sorry dad, I only went for a morning jog. I apologized.
" I wanted to inform you but you were fast asleep when I came to your room "I continued.
" it's fine come in sweetie I've already made breakfast for us, next time inform me before going out for your own safety" he said.
I quickly informed Dad of how every one were looking at me strangely while having my morning jog. "they must have been amused by you or they haven't seen a new face in the town for a long time" Dad assured me.
I went back to my room to have a quick shower before coming coming down stairs to eat the breakfast fast dad prepared. I was eating my breakfast fast of bacon and eggs but my thoughts were still going back to the whole senerio with Calvin and Emily. I didn't even hear dad when he called out to me.
"what's wrong Irena? He asked
" dad it's nothing serious "I replied.
" dear, you know you could tell me anything, I'm your father. Hearing that from dad I couldn't help but burst into tears. I began explaining the whole thing to dad, about how Calvin had moved on with Emily not up to a day I left town, he could not even wait for a day or even a month before moving on with some on else, he threw all we had for years. After hearing all I had to say, Dad give me some fatherly advice "we don't really have control of things and one day your going to realize the people come into our lives and also go" he said. "but I want you to know that your mum and I would always be there for you whenever you need anyone" he assured me.
After a lengthy talk we continued with our breakfast, after eating we headed over to bring our supplies into the house, I went over to my room and began arranging it. I neatly folded my clothes and kept them in the wardrobe and also my books were neatly arranged on the table. I took out some stickers and placed them on the wall. When I done with my room it was now looking like my room back at heaven city.
I went up to dad to help him fix the kitchen, we were not able to bring chairs for the living room so it was still look old and shabby. Dad was able to fix the lights in the house So now I was able to charge my phone.
After resting for a while, I decided to give my little followers on tiktok a tour of my grandparents house, people stated commenting saying it was giving haunted vibes.
Well I kinda fell that way to but I was going make my stay here worth it.
