Nobody volunteered so this led the instructor to pick 6 people. Among these 6 people he chose, there was Tian Liu.
'Shit. I didn't want to show my skills too early. But I can't let Gao Wan win, that'd be wrong.' Tian Liu still had a deep hatred of Gao Wan, But he decided to just hide it.
Tian Liu walked up to the stage relaxed as ever while the other 5 were timidly walking up after witnessing the previous fight.
"Even though talent beated experience, just know that numbers beat talent," the instructor said on his knees panting. He still tried to keep up the strong middle aged man after he lost to some talented individuals with zero experience.
"Let the fight begin!"
This time all three of the talented cultivators fought from the start. Immediately 3 weaker cultivators were knocked out. That left Tian Liu and two other cultivators. It shouldn't normally be like this. Realistically if all 6 cultivators were as calm as Tian Liu they'd be able to win the fight, but they weren't. Tian Liu was just in the back doing nothing while the other two also got knocked out while fighting.
The crowd was quiet as they thought the fight was already over. One cultivator with 15 percent qi purity versus three cultivators with above 70 percent qi purity, it was clear who was going to win. There was also some young and older kids who joined the audience, wanting to see the fight.
Among them was Yang Mei.
The 3 talented cultivators all charged at Tian Liu but Gao Wan stopped them. He noticed Yang Mei in the crowd and thought this was a good chance to impress her.
"Leave the rest to me," Gao Wan pointed at himself.
Gao Wan charged at Tian Liu with all the hatred he had for him. Though this was only a fraction of the hatred Tian Liu had for him.
Gao Wan went in for the finishing blow, seeing Yang Mei in the crowd with a shocked face covering her mouth but Tian Liu just calmly took one step to dodge his hit.
Gao Wan tried to land another punch and another punch and another punch but Tian Liu dodged all of them with just one step.
"Hurry up and finish him!" Hao Zhao shouted.
Gao Wan repeatedly striked Tian Liu but Tian Liu calmly dodged all of it. The truth was Tian Liu could do all of this in his sleep. The Immortal Demon King was a much stronger opponent than Gao Wan.
Gao Wan noticeably getting angrier and angrier kept continuing to charge at Tian Liu with all his strikes but Tian Liu dodged all of it.
The crowd was shocked seeing how someone with that little talent was doing against someone with a once in a lifetime talent.
This went on for a few minutes until Hao Zhao and Wei Lang decided to step in.
"How hard is it to kill someone this weak?" Hao Zhao asked.
"Let's hurry up and finish him, we're embarrassing ourselves," Wei Lang added.
All three of them charged into Tian Liu and everyone in the training grounds expected this was where Tian Liu lost, but he dodged all of it, with just one calm step.
They kept repeatedly charging at Tian Liu but Tian Liu continued dodging all of them with one step. This lasted for an hour until 2 talents got tired and fell from exhaustion. Even though Gao Wan and Wei Lang fell from exhaustion, Hao Zhao kept going.
He kept attempting to go for the finishing shot at Tian Liu with his beast like instincts but the finishing shot just never landed. After another hour the crowd watching got even bigger and Hao Zhao fell asleep from his exhaustion.
The instructor watching was in awe and everyone watching was in awe. A way below average cultivator just defeated 3 talented ones without even attacking. Tian Liu wasn't even breathing that hard. It was like he just finished a light 1 mile jog.
After the fight Tian Liu walked out, everyone making space for him and went back training.
