Chapter 11 - Chapters 11 : when eyes remember

Next Day

Aanya's POV

It was an ordinary afternoon. The classroom buzzed with lazy chatter, lectures dragging on, Meher half-asleep beside her. Nothing seemed out of place.

Until the door clicked open.

Aanya didn't even look at first.

But then… everything in the room shifted.

The quiet hum, the sleepy faces—everything seemed to freeze as footsteps echoed from the hallway.

He entered.

Wearing a black denim jacket, confidence in his posture, eyes full of mischief. His presence wasn't loud—it was effortless. He didn't need to try. The energy just followed him.

Whispers broke out instantly.

"That's him…"

"He's actually cute."

"Finally, the mystery boy shows up."

But Aanya didn't hear them.

Because his eyes met hers.

Across the room. Brown to brown.

Time stopped. Her breath caught. The world around her blurred.

For a second, everything else faded. The noise. The people. Even her thoughts.

It wasn't recognition of a face. It was something deeper.

A pull.

A whisper from the soul.

Then someone called out—"Aarav!"—and the spell broke.

He blinked. Looked away. Walked to the back row like nothing happened.

Aanya sat frozen.

She didn't even realize she hadn't blinked.

She didn't know his name until someone said it aloud.

But her heart… it knew.

It had known the moment their eyes met.

Aarav's POV

So she's the one.

The girl I brushed past on the stairs yesterday.

Back then, I didn't look. Didn't stop. Just walked.

But the second our eyes met today, I felt it again. That exact tug in my chest. Like my heart paused to listen.

I wasn't expecting her to look at me like that.

Like she'd seen me before.

Like she was afraid to believe what she felt.

I was going to smirk. Say something maybe.

But for some reason… I didn't.

I just stared.

And for a moment—God, it felt like everything went silent inside me.

I've met a lot of girls. Some pretty. Some clever. Some curious.

But she felt different.

Not because she looked at me… but because she didn't try to.

She just felt.

And now I know—

She's the one I wasn't meant to miss.
