It took two days for Bellamy and me to agree on who was going to be on our council, in the end, we agreed on.
Raven as captain of Tek Kru and a council member.
Clarke as captain of Hospital Kru and a council member.
Oliver white as captain of security kru and a council member.
Harper as captain of the resource management kru and a council member.
Stuart as captain of trade kru and a council member.
And Octavia who knows the second most about the ground and can speak fluent trigedasleng
We also agreed we would have just one vote to share. We promised that we would have to be in complete agreement before casting our vote; if we couldn't agree, our vote wouldn't count and the council's decision would stand. In the event that one of us was unavailable, the other had to trust their gut and make a decision on behalf of both of us.
Since choosing our council members and announcing them to everyone who after some explanation about why we chose everyone has agreed that these are the best people to have on our council and today is our first council meeting.
"will all council members please meet me on level 7" I announced into the microphone, a mixture of excitement and nervous energy buzzing in my veins as I switched it off, making my way to the elevator, heart pounding with anticipation.
3 minutes go by before it opens, everyone gets out and follows me as I make my way to the Oval Office
"As you can see I redecorated" I quipped, revealing the transformed space. Most of the old decorations banished to storage, the room now exuded purpose with a sleek, sophisticated table centered prominently, sporting eight chairs, I claimed the seat closest to my desk, with Bellamy settling opposite me.
"Welcome to the first council meeting" I look to Bellamy, "firstly we will be holding meetings once a week, mostly on Wednesdays with today being the exception, secondly you know which area you're responsible for but remember you also have other jobs too like harper she leads a hunting group three times a week or Clarke is our resident doctor try not to put too much on your plate and ask for help if things get too much I don't want to overwork people and thirdly i want all meeting recorded just in case one of us cant make a meeting" Grins and nods encircled the room like a warm embrace.
"I was looking over the map of our territory and found a fairly flat area where we could build our village, it has plenty of trees, a large lake towards the end of the valley and enough space for when we expand, it's about a 15-minute walk north-west of here" I bring us the map on my tablet showing everyone the area
"This area leads into Azgata" Octavia interjected, her brow furrowing as she examined the map closely, the lake turns into a river which does flow into Azgata territory
"Unless we build boats, we can't even get there, plus those mountains around the lake are very steep and difficult to climb, we share borders with Azgata, Blue Clift and trikru"
"back to the village, Orella came to me asking about building houses after the winter has passed" Raven chimed in, her mind racing with possibilities. "If we built log cabins to fit four people we can have enough built in 6 months" Even one other than Bellamy looks surprised we could do this
"This plan is for after spring is here. For now, we nitpick our resources, identifying what vital supplies we still possess and what is dwindling. Harper, gather a team of those whose talents aren't currently in use. I want a thorough inventory of everything across each level, no matter how unique or unattainable—the more detail, the better." Harper nodded, resolve gleaming in her eyes.
"Stuart talk with Monty and Jasper They have been brewing up something new we can trade with and when Harper is done with her list talk with her about what we are running out of and can get via trade"He readily agreed.
"Clarke how are we going on the bone marrow project" I inquire, maintaining my focus.
"Slowly, we have a limited supply of local anaesthetics and I do not want to extract bone marrow without it" My brow furrowed in thought.
"Just use what you've got. Extract the recommended bone marrow amount—about 2 pints or a big-syringe's worth—and inject as many people as you can before you run out" Clarke appeared both impressed and astonished by my medical knowledge.
"oliver have you made it clear to your guards that ranks have been demolished and the only ones with a rank are the leaders of Krus" He nodded confidently.
"a couple of the guys who follow me from the ark were upset as they worked hard for those ranks but after I explained to them that they haven't worked here so their ranks don't count they were more understanding although two have been bitching about a teen girl having a higher rank than they had on the ark but I've been keeping an eye on them" Oliver's gaze drifted toward a smirking Octavia, clear to everyone that she was the subject of their ire.
"Good, if they try anything or they start anything with Octavia, just know whatever comes to them they deserve it but if you do something without them starting it, I will have to punish you,"I added sternly, glancing at Octavia, whose unwavering confidence remained intact.
"I'll help oliver with their training, they won't say anything after I kick their asses," she declared, a devilish grin dancing on her lips, mirroring my mischievousness.
"Good, now in a couple of weeks after I've talked with the ambassador of Sangedakru, Raven and her team will be travelling to Sangedakru's capital city Jer and building a kiln, from there she with the books I found in the library will teach the people of Sangedakru how to make, blow and shape glass"
"why are we going this" Harper asks
"glass is hard to come by and trading for it is expensive, but if someone can make glass, its price will go down and that leads to my next project, greenhouses, they require a lot of glass but with Sangedakru making glass they won't cost us much to make"
"what do we have to trade for the glass" Stuart asks
"Our first greenhouse is going to be built near the kiln in Sangedakru, from there they can grow their own food and having taught them how to use and maintain the greenhouse, we get glass for almost nothing" Stuart looks at me with respect
"I want this project finished before winter ends" Raven nods looking determined
"anything else," I say looking around, everyone shakes their head and I look to Bellamy who also shakes his head, "Good, meeting finished don't forget what I said, we'll meet again next week on Wednesday" Everyone leaves me alone in my office
