When Yunyun saw the little loli, she immediately apologized.
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault for saying those weird things and making Megumin worry about me!"
"That's right! It's your fault for saying such nonsense and scaring me so much that I didn't sleep all night."
"Really? Really?"
"Of course! I spent all night thinking—if Yunyun doesn't come anymore, where will I get my lunch box? I'd be hungry."
You don't care at all!
Children always speak without filters, and Megumin's worries were especially confusing this time. Yunyun didn't argue; she just smiled, as if she truly considered Megumin a friend.
"But since Yunyun's my competitor, maybe it'd be better if you were gone?" the little girl teased.
"That's not good!" Yunyun cried, finally giving in. She promised to come every day and told Megumin to wait for her here.
And so the days passed, little by little.
Though peaceful, the lively presence of Megumin and Yunyun kept things far from boring. Before long, harvest time arrived.
"There really is strength in numbers," Zunzun said, hands on his head, surveying the golden cornfields. The yield was far better than last year, and he felt proud.
The little girl was moved to tears.
Yunyun, however, remained composed.
After all, she was the clan leader's daughter and had a broader vision. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been teased by the runaway clan elder for 'playing house.'
This time, Sister Soketto came to help with the harvest, along with the trio.
"You… you're the clan leader's daughter, right?" one of them asked.
"Yes, yes! I'm Yunyun. Please, please, please… give me more advice!" she responded nervously.
Though it was a simple greeting, Yunyun's nerves showed clearly. Apart from Zunzun and Megumin, she struggled to communicate with others. Her extreme shyness hadn't changed.
"The clan leader's daughter?" Hua La La said.
"Yes. She definitely looks like a future clan leader!"
As heir to the clan leader, Yunyun was highly anticipated. But instead of joy, she wore a heavy pressure on her face.
"It's really strange," Hua Lala mused, glancing at Yunyun's silence. "Shouldn't you be proudly introducing yourself, showing off the Crimson Demon Clan's signature style?"
"What a wasted opportunity," Hu Lulu and Hong Longlong chimed in.
Their conversation reached Yunyun's ears. She'd heard this all her life and, over time, had come to be seen as a freak.
She lowered her head deeply.
Oh no!
I'm going to feel inferior again!
It wasn't really her fault. As a 'normal' in the Crimson Demon Clan, surrounded by members suffering from the infamous 'second-year syndrome,' normalcy was freakish.
We have to change this!
Zunzun gave Sister Soketto a secret signal. She nodded knowingly, stepped forward, and stretched out her right hand, calling to the three little girls:
"Who are you!?"
"Huh? What?" The trio blinked, surprised by the sudden shout.
Zunzun took a left bow step, raised his hands high, and shouted:
"Since you asked sincerely!"
"Then I will tell you mercifully!"
Little loli Megumin matched him perfectly with a right bow step, hands raised, her expression serious:
"To protect the world from devistation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the star above!"
"Zunzun!"
"Megumin!"
…
After their dramatic introductions, they turned to Yunyun, who was standing shyly in the middle with a left and right bow, blushing and unsure.
Under the watchful eyes of Zunzun, Megumin, and the expectant Wind, Rain, and Thunder trio, Yunyun hesitated, face flushing and trembling, but then closed her eyes, opened her arms—and made a golden rooster stand.
"Yun, Yunyun!"
Seeing her announce herself, Zunzun and Megumin nodded with satisfaction.
"Crimson Demons blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Yunyun, that's right!"
The three struck a final pose.
"Oh oh oh——!" The trio and Sister Soketto cheered and applauded.
"Great, great!"
"So that's how it is—a group introduction! Really unique!"
"Right! The Crimson Demons always boast they're the best, but there's never been a group intro like this."
They agreed enthusiastically with the self-introductions of Zunzun, Megumin, and Yunyun.
Compared to solo intros, this combo was much more impressive. The trio quickly copied the idea and made their own introductions, ready to perform for their physical education teacher.
"But Zunzun, why do you say you're a villain?"
"To respect the original work."
In truth, Zunzun just felt that the Crimson Demons seemed more like villains than the Demon King's army—always finding fault and being persecuted.
Sister Soketto found it odd but didn't ask. After all, the Crimson Demons loved to self-set, and maybe Zunzun was just too young to be rigorous about it.
Yes, that must be it!
Seeing them lost in their introductions, Zunzun quickly reminded, "Sister Soketto, you three, aren't you here to help with the harvest? Hurry up! If we don't harvest fast, we won't finish today."
"Yes, yes! I forgot. The blood of the Crimson Demon Clan is already affecting me!"
Hu Lulu, as a mature Crimson Demon Clan member, still found ways to be immature and make excuses.
"By the way," Hua Lala looked at the cornfield and asked, "Zunzun, did you expand the land you planted?"
"Yes, yes."
Zunzun didn't tell them he'd been motivated by the other Crimson Demon Clan members to plant such a large field.
For three kids, the field was a bit too much work, and they toiled daily. But the rewards were generous, and with good weather this year, the harvest would surely surpass last year's.
"Okay! Yunyun, then let's compete to see who harvests more!"
"No, no! I won't be tricked again! Megumin always says she wants to compete on planting more land but does nothing—just lazy!"
"But didn't Yunyun end up winning? Didn't I get to punish you?"
"Huh? No, that never happens…"
Yunyun thought carefully.
There was no cheating after losing—at least not in farming.
"Hehe—Yunyun, you still don't get it! I was lazy in the past to build up strength! Now is my prime! I've been enduring humiliation just for this day!"
"What?! I know! I won't lose this time either! I'll give it my all!"
"Then let's see who's the true farming king of the Crimson Demon Clan!"
"I don't want such a lame title!"
Though she said that, Yunyun was clearly fired up by the challenge. The two little lolis ran off toward the fields, eager to begin.
