The moment Kai screamed, the air twisted around him, as if bending to his rage and will. Trees bent. Winds rose. The ground shook. It's like everything was responding to his anger.
The men immediately stopped what they were doing, all of them turning in the direction of the scream. They could feel the bone chilling aura erupting from behind the large rock.
"W—what is that? A beast?" One of the men questioned, his eyes shaking.
The leader of the group didn't reply, instead he grabbed the hilt of his sword tightly, his eyes squinted.
Kai slowly walked out from behind the large rock. His eyes glowed a golden hue, the already thin slits within becoming thinner. His fangs grew longer, the tattoos on his arms glowed a darker shade.
The short horns that protruded from his fore head grew longer. Air twisted as the chaotic aura he was releasing exploded.
"That's it boy! Show them the monster within you! You are no longer the weaklings you used to be. You have power! Use it!"
The strange voice echoed in his head once more causing him to hold his head in pain.
The leader of the group's face scrunched in disgust, "What a vile creature! We shall cleanse it in the name of Altherion! Grab your weapons! We shall purge this disgusting thing!"
He signalled with his hand and the rest of the group instantly drew out their weapons. They took their stance, divine energy erupted from their bodies enveloping their body like a coat of armor. "Don't waste time! We need to hurry up and take the body to our god!"
The words echoed in Kai's head like poison
He clenched his jaw, his eyes glowed with fury.
"Touch that grave again!" He growled, stepping forward, "and I will show you what real wrath feels like!"
The leader of the group laughed maniacally, "So the vile creature actually has some sanity left in it! you are clearly an abomination! This is just back up our claims! You have to be destroyed!"
He raised his hand once more and one of the group members shot forward, his sword suddenly glowing with a golden light. As he drew closer, his and Kai's eyes met.
Looking at Kai's cold eyes sent shivers down his spine, beads of sweat formed on his face, he halted a little, shook his head, then slashed downward.
He grinned maniacally, expecting to see the blood of his enemy, but he saw nothing.
Kai had caught the golden sword with his bare hand, his blood trickled down the edge of the blade. He looked at the man dead in the eye, "This energy!" He spat, squeezing his fist, "It disgusts me!"
He squeezed harder, nets of cracks began forming on the sword before it finally shattered like glass. The man's eyes widened in shock. "Huh!"
Before the man could react, Kai's arm whipped forward grabbing the man's head and slamming him down to the ground with one swift motion.
The impact caused the man to cough out air, his body rebounding from the ground. Kai let go of the man's head, before he could recover once more, Kai stomped his head, the force bursting the head like a balloon.
The rest of the group flinched on seeing this, their eyes widened with shock and terror. Just what type of monstrosity were they facing.
"You monster! You cannot be allowed to roam this world! We shall cleanse you right here and now! Get him!" The leader screamed.
They hesitated for a while, before rushing forward, screaming with passion.
Kai kicked the ground, rushing to meet them, his moves like a blur, reaching them in an instant.
He twisted his hip and threw a punch. His fist moved as if it was breaking the air. His fist instantly penetrated through one of the men's abdomen. He instantly slumped, his body only hanging by Kai's arm that was still lunged in his body.
One of the other men tried to slash at his head, but Kai turned and grabbed it with his teeth, before smashing it as he bit down. The man flinched backwards due to the impact.
Kai's arms whipped forward as he grabbed the man by the man's head and smashed it in with his knee. The man recoiled back once more, blood spewing from his nose. Another one of them came to Kai's side, trying to gut him.
Kai reacted instantly, on instinct, like he wasn't in control. He grabbed the man he had used his knee on by the arm, then with his free arm, brought it down on him with sharp precision, tearing the man's arm from his body.
He spun around, and whipped the arm at the other's face causing him to crumble to the ground, coughing out blood with some teeth mixed.
Another instantly rushed him from behind and slashed diagonally at his back. A large smile formed on his face, "I got him! I was able to strike the abomination—"
His smile slowly disappeared as he watched the wound he had just caused close back up. He began to shake as Kai slowly turned, his golden eyes staring at the man as if peering into his soul.
"Have mercy on my soul, O Almighty Altherion!" The man muttered, tears dropping from his eyes as Kai's fist connected with his face crushing it in as he was sent flying.
"Kai! Please never forget who you are!" A voice whispered in his head. He held his head, gritting his teeth. It was like a thousand needles were piercing his head.
"Remember boy! Remember why you received these abilities! Don't you want revenge, boy?"
He gritted his teeth, his hands clutching his head, "Shut up!" He screamed once more, his aura exploding once more.
Suddenly, mid scream, a glowing sword pierced through his abdomen, the leader of the group grinned wistfully as he raised his head and twisted the sword. "I thank the rest of you! your sacrifices have allowed me to cleanse this abomination! For Altherion!"
He tried to pull the sword out of Kai's abdomen, but found it hard to. It was like the sword was stuck within his stomach.
He looked up slowly, and saw Kai's cold dead eyes staring down at him. He shivered slightly, beads of sweat formed on his face.
"My God will judge you! Whether you like it or not, you shall be cleansed!" The man spat, laughing maniacally before Kai grabbed him by the head, and used his other arm to cleave it right off.
The body collapsed to the floor with a thud. Kai pulled the sword from his abdomen, before falling to his knees. He collapsed on his knees, his breathing becoming ragged and forced as his body reverted back to normal.
His hair grew shorter, his fangs went back to normal, the tattoos on his body slowly disappearing.
His eyes darkened as he saw the dismantled parts and dead bodies scattered around. His body grew cold as he stared at his bloody palms. His heart thumped so loud it felt as though it would pop out of his chest.
"Just what have I become!"
