"The news is not dying down, what do we do?" Antonio's assistant asked, knowing what they had done. It was Anderson's plan to get rid of the man she found in the hotel room. But instead of killing him, Antonio had to step in, paying a doctor to drug induced him using some sedative.
He smiled, taking a sip from his glass of alcohol. There's nothing to be worried about, but his assistant keeps repeating questions.
"There's no trace, the man will be fine. Just leave everything in the hands of the doctor, he knows what to do." He responded.
If they had not intervened, the man would have been a corpse. And there would be no way to revise his body.
"Has he called you?" He asked again, this time, lowering his head to the ground.
Antonio buried his right hands into his pants. "Is he required to before I know nothing is going to transpire?" Antonio asked, locking gaze with him.
He cast him a furtive stare. The figure took few steps back, he knows how much his Boss dislikes being asked too many questions. If he decides they do something, nobody can change that.
"I'm sorry I asked. I'm worried about you.
'Worried about me? I'm not some kid' Antonio though, taking the stairs to his room. He knew what he was talking about, but has decided to ignore, he's not ready for the conversation.
Nothing will happen, as long as they don't find their whereabouts. But what he's about to do, it will definitely put them in trouble. That's why he needs to make sure Kiara becomes his woman, so she can trust him.
"Boss!" He halted, turning to look at him. "Why her? She's not your type of lady. You remained single your whole life; what prompted the shift? Did you fall in love with her, or she's one of those lady you want to have a fling with?"
"I need an heir, she has to be the woman to carry the heir."
The figure froze, for the past five years he's never said anything about someone taking over the legacy, but over a night, a woman he met had changed that thinking.
"She will never accept who you're."
"That's left for her to decide. But trust me, she won't give it a second thought. And I don't intend to inform her."
Antonio had his plans already, he's meeting with a company owner who's facing challenges to build his brand. The agreement is to be the president, and invest in it.
"Do you still plan to invest in the company you mentioned?" He inquired, despite understanding he wasn't entitled to a response.
Antonio already made mention of meeting the current chief executive manager.
They are here for a purpose and searching for someone. Once they are done, they are supposed to leave, but if he eventually stays here, it will cause them more harm than good.
"Lucien, you don't get to inform me of what to do. You're becoming disrespectful, and I won't stand that. Whoever murdered my sister will have to pay for it. Getting a wife doesn't mean getting distracted. Do I make myself clear?"
At this point, Lucien just had to accept his fate. If he dies here, he knew he was loyal until death. The way Antonio speaks, there's no backing out, and he will do whatever he's said.
"Yes boss! I'm sorry I tried to talk you out of it. Here's the document you asked for."
Lucien handed it to him, turning to make his way downstairs. They had to prepare ahead, and he has to inform the guards. Everyone has to be ready for what comes next.
Antonio checked the documents, it was everything he asked of. Instead of striding to his room, he walked further, stopping at Kiara's room.
He knocked, patiently waiting for her to respond, but it took forever. Not so patient, he knocked again, and this time, pushing his way inside.
"You have to wait for a response. Don't act like you weren't taught." She said, but he ignored, handing her the papers.
"This is what you asked for. Just like you had requested, you need a year, it's written there. Go through it, and sign the papers."
Kiara skimmed through, while he stood there watching her. She's not even certain she can take down Anderson.
Even before she had tried to do it, he already set her up. If Antonio had not intervened, she probably would have been on her way to the penitentiary and she's certain her father won't come for her, not even his assistant who cared when she left home to be with him.
"Yes. I need a year, I will go through it, sign and bring it to you tomorrow morning."
"Take your time." He added, about to turn when she stopped him, mouth slightly agape.
"The News?" She began, her gaze shifting to the screen in her room. He followed her gaze, and soon reached for his phone.
He dialed a contact, the recipient picked up.
"Hello Mr. Antonio! How are you enjoying the city?" The recipient asked.
"Not so good. Why is there too many noises? Why don't we close this case before the end of tomorrow?"
The recipient needed no explanation, he got a hint that it's involving him.
"Consider it done, I will look into what happened tonight, by tomorrow it won't be on the news." The recipient assured him, not a word from him, he ended the call.
""Don't forget to read the documents." He reminded her, striding out of the room.
Kiara stood there, mouth agape. She couldn't believe what had just happened. He had request for the news to be taken down, and just like that they are going to do it?
'Who is this man?' She thought, still in great shock.
She's never met someone as arrogant, and commanding like him. She sat on the bed, their conversation crept back into her head.
Kiara couldn't help but think about his sister he had mentioned. Does it mean he also wants revenge? But from who?
