Chapter 29
Blood-red bubbles of chakra boiled up from Kirabi's dark skin, one after another, until they wrapped him in a transparent cloak of Tailed Beast chakra.
Kisame's expression shifted instantly.
"What the hell…? I'm fused with Samehada. Just touching me should be draining his chakra, not giving him more! So where's he pulling this much chakra from!?"
Crack! Crack!
"WEEEEEIIIII—!" Kirabi's arms flexed. His muscles bulged with raw power, and the chains binding him groaned before snapping apart one by one.
Kisame's face hardened. "Wait a second… Did Samehada give him chakra on purpose?"
A sharp vibration buzzed through his body, then—
Rustle!
Kisame stumbled back a step as Samehada jolted out of sync with him. Their fusion abruptly unraveled. The sword rejected his body, shot away, and bounced several meters off the ground. Their chakra link severed completely.
"Tch—damn it!" Kisame gritted his teeth. "You traitorous fish-stick! You even took some of my chakra on your way out?!"
He barely had time to steady himself when the massive water dome, no longer fueled by his chakra, began to collapse. It thinned, swirled, and broke apart in crashing waves.
Outside the water prison, Raikage gasped as fresh air hit his lungs again. "Hoo… finally."
Samehada flopped happily to Kirabi's side like a loyal pet returning home. Its scales twitched with excitement as it released the stolen chakra it had absorbed from Kisame, transferring it directly into Kirabi.
Kirabi grinned and gently patted the sword, already cradling it like an old friend.
"Yo! Yo! Lucky in life, lucky in love—my new partner fits like a glove! Samehada, you're mine now, don't you see? I'm your godfather, and you're my godkid, wee~!"
Kisame stared, dumbfounded.
"You little traitor… You really just love his chakra that much, huh?"
Kirabi didn't even pause. He tossed the sword onto his back, broke into a full-body groove, arms flailing in rhythm with his beatboxing.
"Betrayal in the afternoon, shark's sorrow in monsoon, sashimi blood drips in tune~! Twilight's gloom, battle's boom, Rappin' Bee brings the doom! Charm on fire, I still inspire, bi-tailed beast with bars so dire! Yeah! Ah! War's begun and about to end—time for the beat to transcend~!"
Seeing his brother alive, rapping, and dancing, Raikage couldn't help but break into a rare smile.
"Hmph. Damn idiot can't sit still for a second. Bi! Stop messing around! Use that move—it's time to end this!"
"Roger that, Bro!"
A surge of chakra flared around Kirabi. The swirling red cloak condensed, tightening into a jagged chakra armor, complete with thick bones forming over his shoulders. The raw intensity of the Eight-Tails boiled through his body.
On the other side, Raikage was already wrapped in his signature Lightning Release Armor, lightning crawling wildly over his skin, crackling with dangerous tension.
Darui squinted from a safe distance, hand resting on the hilt of his blade.
"Lost his sword, completely surrounded, and now he's facing the full power of the AB brothers… Kisame, this is probably the end of the road for you."
Kirabi tightened his stance. "WEEEEEEEIIIII—!"
"Drink!"
With a powerful shout, both brothers charged, perfectly coordinated, coming at Kisame from opposite directions—one a thunderous juggernaut, the other a beast cloaked in chakra.
"—Double Lariat!"
Kisame's eyes widened. He exhaled, a mixture of regret and acceptance in his gaze.
"I guess this is it. Betrayers always get betrayed in the end. Is this what it felt like for you too, Itachi?"
But just as the brothers were about to collide with him—
Snap!
A hand burst from the ground beneath Kisame and yanked him down hard by the ankle.
"Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu!"
"Wha—!?"
Raikage and Kirabi blinked. Their target had just vanished from sight. But they couldn't stop themselves in time.
BOOM! BOOM!
Both thundered forward—straight into each other's arms.
"Urgh…!"
"Oww…!"
They locked necks mid-air, arms around one another like unwilling lovers, and slammed into the ground, twitching violently from the sheer power of their own attacks.
Darui, watching from afar, instinctively clutched his own throat. "Oh, damn. That looked painful..."
Kisame, still half-buried in the dirt with only his head above ground, chuckled weakly.
"Well, that did look like a decapitation. Nice touch… And now that you've saved me, mind showing yourself?"
Rustling noises came from the soil beside him.
A young man in a familiar orange cloak rose slowly from the earth, dusting himself off with a grin.
"Not exactly my preferred way of making an entrance, but hey—against the AB brothers, you play it safe."
Kisame blinked. "It's you?"
Naruto turned around, smiling brightly. "Long time no see, Mr. Kisame. No need for introductions this time, right?"
