Chapter Thirteen — It Will Be One of My Strongest Techniques in the Future
Somewhere...
The same person who gave "Unknown" the gift scratched his head and said:
> "I forgot to tell him that... Well, it doesn't matter, now that I think about it, it will be more fun this way."
He said that, and his face, from the moment he scratched his head until the end of the sentence, was filled with a look of mischief.
> "Hahahahaha, don't blame me, it has to be hard... what's the fun if it's easy?"
---
In "Unknown"'s room
"Unknown" was trying to remember what happened to him.
> "What is this strange dream? Three gifts? A dream world?"
True, "Unknown" did not remember that area full of lines, he only recalled the things that happened in that place that was like a dream, where he heard a voice... or a meaning? He does not know exactly, but he also understood what the voice meant.
---
Back to "Unknown"'s thoughts:
> "So according to that voice: my ability is divided into three groups: creating techniques – and it seems I already have that – developing techniques, and understanding techniques.
There is something strange about this pattern... it seems that if we look from a bigger perspective, it is one ability. So why was it divided into three groups?"
Then he stopped and thought:
> "But wait, why should I believe this? After all, this is a dream, and dreams can't be true, right?"
---
Ibrahim looked at "Unknown," whose face showed signs of sleepiness, then said to him:
> "Repeat what you said from the beginning."
So "Unknown" told him everything he remembered about what happened, the voice that gave him three gifts, the explanation of his supposed abilities, the first gift: "the dream," and about a reason pushing him to become stronger.
---
Ibrahim looked at "Unknown," his face full of complexity.
Ibrahim's mind filled with questions about "Unknown," but even "Unknown" himself knew nothing.
So Ibrahim sighed and said:
> "Listen, 'Unknown'... what do you think if we try those abilities you claimed are (supposed abilities)? Let's try them. There are many ways I thought of, but there is a way that can show us the truth... prove it to me."
---
They went to Ibrahim's backyard.
Ibrahim said, searching in a closed box with a hint of recalling the past on his face:
> "When I was young, I tried many things, and one of those things is... this!"
Ibrahim took out a wooden sword that had been thrown somewhere inside that box.
> "I was interested in these things in my youth, so I decided to enroll in a club that teaches swordsmanship.
Although some people might say it's useless – what's the use of a sword in front of a gun? Even a small child with a gun can kill the best swordsmen – but I didn't care about that and joined. Don't expect anything extraordinary like in comics or the novels I gave you... what we learn is just the basics."
Ibrahim said that while picking up another wooden sword, then turned and gave one of them to "Unknown," and said:
> "Follow me."
---
They went to an obstacle-free place.
Ibrahim said to "Unknown":
> "You said the groups have branches that stem from them, and you said the voice told you that (copying techniques) is part of (understanding techniques). Let's try that.
True, I haven't trained in years, but who do you think I am?"
Ibrahim said that with his eyes full of confidence, preparing a training dummy.
Then he performed the simplest strike: a chopping stroke from top to bottom...
And... well... all that was heard after this strike was the echo of "Unknown"'s laughter.
---
> "It seems my muscles have aged after this age..."
Ibrahim said, with some other justifications, while covering his face in embarrassment – which, by the way, did not work on "Unknown."
As for what happened...
The move Ibrahim wanted to perform was very simple, realistically anyone could do it – even the untrained.
And since the target was fixed, directly in front of the person... no one can miss, right?
And expectedly, for an "ex-expert" with eyes full of confidence, he would do it easily... but the result?
The sword got stuck in the grass, right behind the dummy.
---
"Unknown" said, unable to contain his laughter:
> "Wow, what a strong move! I will practice it in the future, and make it one of my strongest techniques."
---
Ibrahim heard that, and remembered the confidence that was in his eyes a little while ago, so he said – changing the subject:
> "Well, you don't have to see someone perform the technique in front of you... you can simply see it on the phone."
Ibrahim said that while running into the house.
He did not know that "Unknown" had realized and recorded something in his mind.
