Chapter 10 — Run If You Hear Singing
The district's quiet… for now. Word's spreading: two nobodies just claimed a whole chunk of city like it was lunch money. Kaito's bored again. Cainen's hyped on his own fumes. DMK keeps pacing, like something's wrong.
DMK (low growl): "I smell iron… but not blood. Something twisted."
Cainen (eye twitching): "You always smell some shit."
But then—
Huuuum... la la laaa... huuummm...
The sound creeps through the broken alleys like a ghost with rhythm. Off-key. Delicate. Too soft for this city. Too deliberate.
Kaito (stops mid-chip): "Fuck."
Cainen: "What now?"
Kaito (standing up, chain sliding loose): "You hear singing… run."
Too late.
From the rooftop — a blur of pink and bat.Lilith flips down in a ballerina spin, landing with her toes pointed like she's on stage.
Four gang members who tried to sneak back into the district are frozen behind her, caught mid-run.
She hums again.
"One's for the scream,Two's for the snap,Three's for your skull going clap clap clap~"
CRACK.
She hits the first with her barbed bat. His head folds like wet cardboard. Blood hits the concrete in a perfect spiral.
The others scream and scatter. Doesn't matter.
She dances through them.Smiling. Twirling. Each swing is art.
Cainen (eyes wide): "She's not just crazy… she's practiced."
Kaito (already moving): "She's obsessed. Obsessed is deadly."
Lilith finishes the fourth victim by stabbing them with the end of her bat — just the blunt end. No reason. Just fun.
Then she looks at Kaito. That smile again.
Lilith: "Kaito~ You didn't invite me... So I made my own entrance."
Cainen (stepping in front): "Back. Off."
She stops. Looks at him. Slowly tilts her head.
Lilith: "Aw. You're adorable. You think he's yours?"
Silence.
Lilith (serious now): "You'll die last."
And just like that, she skips away, singing again.
"Ashes, ashes, the city falls down~"
Gone.
DMK's breathing heavy. Kaito's staring hard at the spot she vanished. Cainen?
He's shaking.
Not with fear. With rage.
Cainen (growling): "She thinks she can just walk in and kill whoever she wants?"
Kaito: "She's not thinking. She's playing. Like a cat with a burning mouse."
They look at the blood-soaked street.
This district ain't safe.
Not from the government. Not from the gangs. Not even from their own side.
And Cainen knows something now:This "Deadly Six"... is gonna need rules.
