The stunned silence that followed Mason's declaration was almost comical. Every face in the room turned toward me, expressions shifting from disdain to disbelief.
Mason couldn't contain his excitement. "She approached it completely differently! Instead of trying to fix the chemical bonding issues, she modeled the energy flow patterns after neural pathways!"
Miles snatched the tablet from Mason's hands, his eyes darting across the screen. The color drained from his face.
"This is..." he muttered, scrolling rapidly.
Ryan stood up. "Let me see."
Soon they were all crowded around the tablet, murmuring in amazement. I remained at my desk, watching them discover what I'd known all along.
"The efficiency increase is nearly twenty percent," Dr. Kemp whispered. "That's... impossible."
