They crossed into a Divine Domain by accident.

Instantly, the land twisted to reject Liss.
Books tore themselves apart. Quills turned into blades. The air turned to ink.
"You don't belong here!" the Domain screamed.
But Liss stepped forward—
and the laws of that place unraveled just by her breath.
"You shouldn't exist," the God of Scripture snarled, appearing as a glowing monolith of words.
"I don't," Liss whispered.
"And now... neither do you."
She touched its heart.
The letters fell off its body, and it crumbled into nothing.
They fled before the other gods noticed.
