Dr. Alrin said nothing.

He pulled out a knife from his coat.

With a sharp swing, he cut the air in front of him—

—but it wasn't just a slash.

He stepped through the rift.

To where?

No one knew.

But what waited there...

wasn't just a monster.

It was family.

A reinforced bunker door hissed open.

"Where is he?!"

Eon burst out, panting, eyes wide.

> "Your brother is being treated. He's safe for now," said a soldier.

"…Thank you."

As he walked past, Eon heard two soldiers whispering behind him.

> "He's reckless… Honestly, kid's got guts."

"Shut up. Kael told us not to say anything before he wakes up."

Eon didn't respond.

But then—

a voice echoed from a broken alley nearby.

A voice filled with pain.

With something wrong.

> "Hello...? Who's there?"

Eon walked into the alley…

and found a boy.

No—a beastkin, with sharp ears, strange markings, and trembling eyes.

> "Where is my father?!"

"I— I don't know. Who's your father?"

> "He was a scientist… from the year 2578... what year is it now?"

"This is 2674."

The boy's eyes widened.

Suddenly, a pressure crushed the air.

A clawed hand grabbed Eon by the throat and lifted him up.

> "No... you're lying... YOU'RE LYING!"

> "Please—let me go—!"

> CRACK.

His neck snapped.

Eon's body fell lifeless to the ground.

But seconds later—

it twitched.

And glowed.

> "I… I'm alive…? But… how?"

No time to think.

A siren blared through the compound.

Soldiers scrambled.

But Eon stood in the alley—

still gasping.

And the beastkin… was gone.

But not alone.
