Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Fury

"Hell yeah! I’ve been craving Oden made by Oden for ages—it’s been too long!"

Doringo cheered, spinning around the bar in excitement.

"Yeah, I really miss that bastard. When we see him, I’m challenging him to another fight," Jabba grinned, taking a swig of liquor.

"Hahaha! Oden’s the only samurai on the crew. I can’t wait to see him again!" CB Gallant chuckled, his eyes drifting upward as if reminiscing.

Despite the cheerful mood, Roger’s expression darkened.

"Ah… Right. We need to get to Wano quickly—otherwise, Oden won’t make it."

The moment those words left his mouth, the atmosphere in the bar froze. Aside from Roger, Reid, and the already-informed Shanks and Buggy, everyone else paled in shock.

"Cap… Captain, what do you mean Oden won’t make it? What’s going on?" Doringo was the first to react, his face twisting in disbelief.

"Roger, that can’t be right. With Oden’s strength, very few people could even challenge him," Rayleigh said, his usually calm demeanor cracking slightly. The idea was simply unacceptable.

"Roger, explain." Jabba’s voice was grave.

The entire crew sat in tense silence, desperate for answers.

"It’s the absolute truth—and it’ll happen within the next few years."

"Roger, then what the hell are we waiting for?! Let’s go save Oden right now!" Muret Pein roared, smashing his mug against the table. His thick beard bristled with rage, veins bulging on his forehead.

"I’ll smash whoever dares touch Oden into paste!" Nozdon slammed his fists together, his body radiating a furious red aura.

"If anyone so much as lays a finger on Oden, I’ll split them in half with my axe!" Jabba snarled.

"Captain! Let’s go now! If we wait any longer, Oden’s in danger!" Yamato drew his sword, itching to cut down anyone who threatened Oden.

Momora poured himself another drink and downed it coldly. "Roger, give the order. We’re with you."

"Captain…" Shanks stared at Roger intently.

"Captain…" Buggy clenched his fists, grinding his teeth.

"Calm down, everyone. We’ll wait a few months—just until Rouge gives birth to Ace. Then, we’ll set sail for Wano together."

Roger turned to Reid.

"Reid, tell them. Who’s trying to kill Oden?"

Reid nodded and faced the crew.

"Kozuki Oden is the son of Wano’s shogun. One of the Kurozumi Clan—a family that once served the Kozuki—has conspired with a man named Kaido to seize power. By now, Wano likely no longer belongs to the Kozuki family. And in a few years… Oden will be boiled alive in a pot of oil before being executed by gunfire."

The moment Reid finished speaking, the entire bar fell deathly silent. Every face was frozen in shock—then erupted into fury.

"Reid, how do you know all this?! These are events years in the future!" Yamato demanded, struggReidg to believe it.

Rayleigh frowned. "Reid, explain."

"I can’t reveal how I know certain future events. Even Roger kept it quiet—probably to protect this secret."

Just as Reid hesitated, Roger placed a hand on his shoulder. "Reid, tell them about your ability to foresee the future."

"Roger… Alright."

The crew gasped in unison.

Rayleigh’s eyes narrowed. "Reid… is this true? You’re a prophet?"

"My epithet is ‘Child of Fate.’ I know fragments of the future, but not everything." Reid rubbed his neck awkwardly.

"Incredible…" Shanks’ eyes sparkled with admiration.

"Holy shit!" Buggy’s body split apart in shock.

Reid fReidched. "So this is the power of the Bara Bara no Mi… Damn, that’s terrifying."

"Keep Reid’s ability a secret. Once the others arrive, make sure they understand too," Roger ordered.

"Don’t worry, we know how serious this is," Momora said, adjusting his hat after the initial shock.

The others nodded firmly.

"Captain, then why are we still waiting?! Let’s charge into Wano and slaughter everyone who dares threaten Oden!" Yamato brandished his sword, ready to storm out.

"I’m coming too! I’ll crush them all!" Muret Pein stood, fists clenched.

"Yamato. Muret." Roger’s voice stopped them.

"Captain! Every second we waste puts Oden in more danger!"

"Yeah, Captain Roger! We can’t wait any longer!"

"I want to save him more than any of you—"

"But Captain! Even if you say Oden will be safe for a few years, Rouge only has a few months left before giving birth. Can't you all wait just a little longer?"

Yamato and Muret Pein hesitated, their anger cooReidg slightly. Rouge was still heavily pregnant and needed their support.

"Roger, I'll be fine. With Elio by my side, and Shanks and Buggy staying behind, the rest of you can go to Wano first."

Though Rouge had only been with Roger for a short time, she understood how deeply he valued his crew—they were his family. She didn’t want to hold them back from saving Oden, knowing it would weigh on her conscience.

"Yeah, Captain. I’m not that strong anyway. I can stay behind and take care of Rouge," Shanks offered with a nod.

"I’ll stay too!" Buggy quickly added.

"Everyone, just hold on a few more months. I promise—once the time comes, we’ll storm Wano and wipe out that Kurozumi Clan, along with that bastard Kaido!"

"No, Captain Roger! KilReidg them outright is too merciful!" Nozdon growled, his massive frame trembReidg with rage. "They want to throw Oden into a boiReidg pot? Then we’ll toss them in one too! Let those scumbags taste their own medicine!"

"Big guy’s got a point!" someone shouted.

The crew roared in agreement, their bloodlust palpable.

Roger grinned, his eyes sharp. "Then it’s settled. We wait—but when the time comes… Wano will burn."
