Ken opened his eyes only to be greeted by bright sunlight that covered his eyes . The sky was as clear as day. The birds were chirping a lovely melody filling the area with an almost unreal peace.
"Am I in heaven? Did I really kick the bucket? He thought. "
But suddenly remembered his sister
"Wait! Hinata, where is she ?"
He looks down to see a familiar face laying on his lap, her chest slowly rising and falling.
He took a breath of relief. "Hinata you really scared the crap out of me you shouldn't do that ". He whispered gently, rubbing his hand on her head.
Hinata's eyes burst open and she was gasping for air, panicking and sweating . "Ken help me I'm going to burn " she screamed her eyes filled with terror.
"I'm right here Hinata" he held her head against his chest. "You are OK, just breathe" he said gently, giving her a tight hug as she calmed down.
A few minutes after Hinata calmed down they both stood up from under the tree they set under. They felt the wind gently passing by. They brushed the bust on their clothes as they stood.
"Brother where are we? " Hinata asked with a face full of fear and tears about to burst. "I'm pretty sure I was in a closet".
Those words from his sister triggered Ken to remember he was reaching for the closet door where Hinata was when the computer where he was working on KAI exploded in his face and he faded.
"I don't know Sunshine but it's safe to say we are not in Japan anymore." Ken says that with a smile on his face as a way to show Hinata that there is nothing to fear.
As Ken tried to analyze the situation in his head he spotted a giant creature in the distance in the sky.
"What is that?" As he looked closer he realized that it was a dragon. "... Is that…a dragon?"
Ken grabbed Hinata's hand and ran as far as possible. Until they came to a stop to cache some air.
"Brother was that a dragon I saw back there?" she asked Ken with a look of both fear and confusion.
Ken was in a state of confusion himself wondering where the hell they were and what happened to the fire? "where exactly are we? What is going on here?" he said to his mind as he was looking up at the sky.
"I don't know Hinata, maybe that was a dragon, I'm not sure myself." He looked down, putting his hand on his head wondering. "Did we die? I bet it is one of those isekai I used to read in the light novel. That means we have been reincarnated in another world."
Hinata consented about Ken's silence "what is wrong brother." She asked him gently. rubbing his head gently.
Ken looks at Hinata with the eyes of a person with bad news. "Hinata, I think I need to tell you something. I think I know what happened…. We…might have died and were reincarnated in another world.
Hinata looks at him with scared but calm eyes. "I expected as much as she said no one can survive being burned in a closet. So what should we do in the meantime?"she said wiping tires in her eyes.
Ken stood silent for a while thinking of a way to cope with this. "I know we should find a town, maybe we can find a place to sleep."
Ken and Hinata begin their journey to the nearest town. They traveled for 4 days straight with no food, only water. Antil they pushed out in the middle of the road .
A carriage was passing by. It was the royal prince of Benvill prince Vegon Benvill. He thought of just passing them by but just one glance of Hinata's face he was started. He took them in his carriage and left for the castle.
A few days passed by. Ken woke up in a room he did not recognize. "when am I". He said, holding his head.
He got out of bed and started walking around looking for Hinata. "Hinata, where are you?" When walked until he stumbled upon a door. He slowly opened the door and there she was. "Hinata, I finally found you. "
She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. "Ken is that you?" she said with a soft voice.
"I'm here Hinata don't worry everything is fine." He gently rubbed his hand on her head making her giggle a little.
Hinata started to look around, gazing at every corner of this room. "By the way Ken, where are we?" The room was beautiful and quite colorful.
"To be honest I wish I knew but I have to say it is quite pretty". Ken said with a smile of comfort.
Soon after a maid walks in the room. Immediately after she walks in she walks back out. Ken and Hinata are sitting there confused about what is going on.
A few minutes later the prince along with 3 guards walked in. "I am the first prince of the Benvill empire, prince Vegon Benvill and you should bow before me."
Ken and Hinata were still confused about what was happening. Ken, with his otaku knowledge, decided to play along. "Thank you for your humble presence my prince. Would you mind telling us how we came to be here?"
"What insolence" he said "is that how you talk to your prince. Gourds take him away at once. He said with a wicked smile. "And you pretty thing, you belong to me now" He said to Hinata.
Ken was taken to a prison cell in the castle. He screamed his sister's name as they dragged him away. "stop…Please stop.. Hinata… HINATA!."Hinata screams Ken's name as he is dragged away. Prince Vegon looks at him with a nasty smile waving at him. That smile locked in Ken's mind. He wondered what they did wrong.
"is this how my second chance is going to be. I vowed to protect Hinata and I couldn't, but not this time not in this life".
