Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Harley had already caught the eye of several men, but one—Vincent "Vince" Navarro, a charming and overly confident businessman with more money than sense—decided to make his move. He was tall, dressed in a sleek black suit that reflected under the neon lights, and his smile was more calculated than warm. His eyes locked on Harley as she swirled her drink, her lips curving up into a playful grin as she turned to him.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" Harley's voice was sweet as sugar, but her eyes gleamed with mischief. "Don't think I've seen you around before, handsome. What's your name?"

Vince leaned in, his breath lingering in her space, a smirk dancing on his lips. "The name's Vincent. But you can call me Vince. You must be Harley Quinn, the infamous Queen of Gotham." His eyes ran over her outfit—shiny, tight, and perfectly chaotic, just like the woman herself.

Harley's grin widened. "I like that you know who I am. That's cute." She took another slow sip of her drink, her finger tracing the rim of her glass in a deliberate, teasing motion.

"I've heard a lot about you," Vince continued, his voice low and silky. "But I gotta say, seeing you in person? Incredible." His hand casually brushed against hers as he leaned even closer, his body language oozing confidence. "You must get a lot of attention. But, hey—don't you ever get tired of the same old thing? The same guy?"

At this, Harley raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a slow, almost amused smile. "Oh, you mean Puddin'?" She threw a quick glance over her shoulder at Joker, who stood across the room, surveying the crowd. His face was unreadable, but the muscles in his jaw twitched in irritation.

Vince, sensing an opportunity, took a step closer, lowering his voice. "Look, I'm not saying he's not a big deal, but don't you want more? Something… different? I've got everything you could want, Harley. Power. Money. No rules. All the fun, without the strings."

Harley's smile didn't fade, but the playful light in her eyes shifted. She leaned in close, her lips just inches from his ear. "Mmm, tempting," she purred, her breath warm against his skin. "But the thing is… Puddin' and I? We have this thing, you know? He gets me, Vince. He's the only one who can keep up with all my crazy."

Vince chuckled, clearly pleased by the tension he was building. "But what if… just what if he couldn't? What if I could give you something—someone—who actually appreciates you, Harley?"

Harley took a step back and looked him up and down with feigned interest. She gave him a flirtatious little wink, then tapped her finger against her chin like she was seriously considering it. "Hmmm, maybe you're right." She looked over her shoulder again, her gaze intentionally catching Joker's steely eyes across the room. Joker was now glaring at them, and Harley noticed the familiar flicker of jealousy in his expression. A glint of mischief sparked in her own eyes.

"But you see, Vince," Harley continued, her voice sultry as she took another deliberate step closer to him. "What you don't get… is that when it comes to me and Puddin', it's never just about the money or the power." She ran her fingers down the front of his suit, then slid her hand down to rest on his chest. "It's about the chaos. And baby, you just don't have the crazy to keep up."

Vince was almost lost in her, his breath hitching as Harley's playful fingers traced the line of his jaw. But then, he noticed it—Joker's icy glare, burning a hole through him from across the room. The Joker was watching.

A shiver of uncertainty ran through Vince. He pulled back slightly, his confident smirk faltering as he realized the kind of danger he was playing with. But Harley wasn't done.

She moved even closer, her breath teasingly close to his ear as she whispered, "You're cute, Vince. But I've got a bigger fish. And you're way too small-time for me."

Vince's grin faltered as he straightened up, realizing the game was up. He took a step back, his eyes flicking nervously toward Joker. The Joker's expression had shifted—his cold, calculating gaze locked on Vince, a subtle fury simmering just below the surface.

Harley let out a small, almost innocent laugh. "You know, Vince, there's something about a guy who thinks he can steal my attention. It's cute… in a desperate way."

Before Vince could say another word, Joker calmly walked over, a dark smile forming on his lips. "Well, well, well," he purred, his voice thick with mock sweetness. "What do we have here? Someone trying to seduce my girl?"

Vince's throat tightened as Joker leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "I gotta hand it to you, man. I've seen some bold moves in my time, but you're really trying to make your play, huh?" Joker's hand casually brushed the handle of the gun tucked in his holster. The air seemed to freeze. Harley, ever the spectator of her own drama, grinned wide, leaning against the bar as if enjoying the show.

Then, with a sharp, piercing laugh, Joker snapped his fingers. "But here's the thing, Vince… You don't touch what's mine."

Without a moment's hesitation, Joker pulled the gun from his side and aimed it with perfect precision. The shot rang out, loud and brutal, silencing the surrounding chatter. Vince dropped like a ragdoll, blood splattering across the freshly coated wood floor.

"Oops," Joker said with a twisted grin. "Looks like he got a little too handsy."

Harley's laughter echoed through the space as she winked at her puddin', clearly entertained. "Always keep 'em on their toes, right, Puddin'?"

Joker didn't respond. Instead, he grabbed Harley's hand, his fingers tightening around hers possessively. "Let's get out of here, babe," he said with a voice full of venom and anticipation. "This party's over."

The two of them strutted toward the exit, their chaos-fueled exit as grand as it had been dramatic. The crowd parted like the Red Sea, and the sounds of whispers filled the room as Joker and Harley made their way to the waiting limo outside.

With a final glance at the wreckage they left behind, Harley slipped into the car with Joker right behind her. The door slammed shut, the noise of the city night covering them as they sped off into the night.

And somewhere, in the distance, the sounds of chaos continued to echo.
