Surrounded by flames and the bodies of who he thought where his guardians, a 16 year old boy is held at sword point by one of the Kings men. The knight realizes that he is not an enemy and takes the boy in to present him to the King.
15 years later.
Within the Boreal Forest, underneath the moonlight, Roman polishes his blade after another encounter with a group of Dark Elves. As soon as he finishes cleaning his sword, he hears rustling noise nearby.
"Who goes there!?"
No response. He draws his blade as he asks once more. Alas, silence once more, until a figure sporting a black cloak appears behind him. He turns around and puts his sword to its neck.
"Well hello to you too, Roman"
"Who are you and how in the hell do you know my name!?"
"I am a messenger of the abyss and I am here to warn you about your Lord. You see, your King has built and kept his image off of lies and deceit. He wants you to exterminate the Dark Elves because they know the truth"
Roman sheaths his sword. "What proof do you have to back up such a claim!?"
"Follow me", he directs. "You're out of your mind, there's no way I would turn my back on my Lord!" "Suit yourself", the messenger says as he walks off into the night, banishing from from plain sight.
