He was at the last arc lf novel where actions scenes were so packed. His anticipation grew even more but his body gave into fatigue despite his efforts to read all the chapters in one sitting.
He fell asleep on phone open the novel connected to big power bank to keep phone battery going.
Phone malfunctioned for some reason as it blew up second before power bank blew up as well. This ended up killing him in his sleep.
Just then a screen appeared in that room and all cameras got fried by mysterious force.

"Diver code 096134" they both said in unison as door opened.
When he entered a old man was sitting using a transparent floating screen and recording many things.
"Orion, a diver. You time have come, please receive the association data and start your dive. Try to gain a good rating so your can retain some power from your dive. "Old man didn't looked up and said without any glance at Orion.
A screen appeared in front of him as many notifications appeared on it. Everything was just happening too fast that he couldn't even understand what is happening with him.
[ Ding! Diver have chosen. ]
[ Ding! Please roll the draw for obtaining character to possess. ]
[ Ding! Draw have automatically started. ]

Notification pop up windows filled the screen as ton of data was loaded in his soul. His soul fell into a cocoon like state where something latched itself onto him so it can be merged perfectly. This latched thing was the standard system of the association mixed with unique aspect of Orion's soul.
Soul of Orion was travelling through boundless void as he entered many universes trying to find one where host's task is assigned to.
Orion couldn't feel concept of time as his state was still of cocoon and many concepts of Diver association along with system theory.

In a building which was shabby looking and needed some repairing to get into good condition, was sleeping a boy on a good bed. This was Orion who was side character in this novel who died just in line of novel without even being introduced to main story line. He died in the attacks of beasts while MC just system to power levels in this world.

In sleep, Orion experienced the memories of Orion that he had possessed while this soul was used as the nourishment for system and his soul as travelling through void have taken some toll on both of them.
Memories wasn't anything special to begin with as this guy didn't lived relying on himself and only leeched off from his parents but now that they have died a year ago, original Orion was ill equipped to survive in the real world that his parents shielded him from.
Orion woke up gasping for air because memories have been experienced. He was in trance for few minutes before collective shock of everything hit him.
"You damn Diver Association, couldn't you have sent me to some other novel. I mean, I did loved this novel but it isn't one where you want to live at all."

Orion headed using his own two feet as city was dead silent due to transportation not being available at night as this city wasn't much better than slums of compared to city where MC live and still that city is considered only average.
His steps were quite and careful but he could see that in front were two shady people with overgrown beards.
He wanted to change his route using phone maps, but when turning he stepped on something which made a sound and it was heard by both of them in this silent night.
