In Shiro's small house, Shiro is working on some plans for a settlement renovation.
"Great Sage, can you help me improve these plans?" I say in my mind, as he devours the plans with Gluttony, taking it to the stomach space, a different space connected to my stomach.
[Yes, just wait a few minutes, sir.] The Great Sage says.
While the Great Sage analyzes and improves the plans, there's a knock on my door. I walk slowly toward it.
When I get to the door, I open it and find some children outside my house. They were between 6 and 10 years old.
These children are naturally my friends, but I don't normally play with them much. I'm too busy with technological research and how to create artificial spirit circuits.
I asked the Great Sage, but the Great Sage said I need a living being with Spirit Circuits to analyze. Even so, the estimated time for analyzing Spirit Circuits alone is 120 years; as for creating artificial Spirit Circuits, it's at least another 200 years.
The Great Sage said that the evaluation of the unique skill [Great Sage] is necessary so that the analysis can be faster.
I plan to become the [Demon King] when I'm about 11 years old. For this to work, I have to choose the world sheet [tensei shitara slime datta ken] and choose [Demon Lord's Seed] and the [Demon King] evolution ritual. Then, choose the [Rimuru Tempest] sheet and choose the 20,000 souls that Rimuru used for his own evolution to Demon King.
"Hey, Shiro, you're so dizzy again, you're always thinking," said one of the children.
"Come on, Shiro, it's time to play." A girl said, taking Shiro's hand and pulling her out of the house.
"What are we going to play today?" I said calmly.
"Let's play tag," said a girl with pink hair.
After an hour of playing tag, the great sage finished analyzing and improving the plans. I returned to my small house.
[The plans have been analyzed and improved,] said the great sage.
"Great sage, can you explain the steps necessary for the renovation?" I told the Great Sage. Although I have a genius intellect, I am not an architect, nor am I a builder. That's why I asked the Great Sage to help me plan the necessary steps for the renovation.
[Right away, sir.]
About 5 minutes later, the great sage finished planning the renovation steps.
[Sir, the steps for the renovation are ready.]
"Explain the steps to me one by one," I said to the great sage.
[First, we need to build mining tools. Second...]
In short, we need to dig underground and hollow out a portion of the mountain, creating a 1-kilometer square in the middle of the mountain.
The mountain where our human settlement was established measures at least 8 kilometers in diameter and 4 kilometers in height, and our tribe's location is approximately 957 meters above the ground.
The process of creating the 1-kilometer square took at least a year. This year, I had to draw a template twice, and I chose [Yoriichi Tsugikuni].
I chose the Five Attributes breathing technique he developed. I created masks that would allow people to breathe only with the breathing method; otherwise, they wouldn't be able to breathe.
Because of the breathing techniques, the expansion of the cave to 1 kilometer was only completed in a year, faster than estimated.
I didn't help them with magic myself for a simple reason. I haven't caught any race with spirit circuits, nor have I done so artificially.
If I did it with magic, it might raise suspicions among others, making them believe I'm a different race masquerading as a human.
Until I can create artificial spirit circuits, I won't show off my magic, just science.
And the second template was [Shigure Kosaka], and I chose his forging technique, [Master Smith], a secret forging technique that allows ordinary steel to be forged to the hardness of tungsten.
I taught this skill to all the blacksmiths in our tribe. With this technique and the breathing method, we were able to build a hollow one kilometer wide and 200 meters high in just one year.
Right now, I'm standing at the entrance to the vast expanse, waiting for Albedo with some construction plans for wooden houses. The plans are from the modern era.
Although I would like it to be made of concrete or cement, unfortunately, these days, none of that can be built. I can only settle for well-built, modern wooden houses.
I'll have to build an underground laboratory myself. With the help of the Great Sage, it won't be a problem to build it in a day or two.
At that moment, Albedo arrived and said, "Good morning, little Shiro. How may I help?" Albedo said firmly.
"It's been a month since we finished building this space. Everyone should have had enough rest by now. So, take these plans. They're for building better, more comfortable, and more durable houses." I hand the plans to Albedo, and he takes them respectfully.
"I understand. I'll take them to the carpenters immediately." Albedo heads up the stairs to the tribe above.
"This is quite troublesome. I didn't know it took so much time, effort, and oversight for an advanced civilization." I sigh, a little tiredly. "I think I need a break of at least a month."
In just two months, the carpenters built several houses. There are only over 100 carpenters in this human settlement, but with the help of others, nearly 1,000 two-story houses were quickly built.
"Miss Leader, the houses have already been completed. The building called 'school' has also been completed." One of the carpenters approached Shiro.
"I understand. Tell Albedo to call everyone in the tribe to gather at the plaza." I tell the carpenter in a calm voice.
The carpenter nods and turns around to find Albedo.
Two hours later, everyone in the tribe is in the plaza, ready to move to the new tribe base in two days." I say nonchalantly, holding an electronic speaker. "That's all. You can return to your business."
Everyone nodded and returned to their business.
I, on the other hand, returned to my small house and entered my room. A room filled with blueprints, glass cylinders, keys, toolboxes, and a messy room.
I threw myself down on the bed and fell asleep.
About 15 hours later, there was a knock on my door, causing me to wake up.
Knock, Knock, Knock
"Boss, wake up, it's time for breakfast," says one of my assistants. I have two assistants, a 17-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman. Their names are Olivia and Manuel.
Olivia is a woman with a slightly better-looking appearance than average; she has red hair down the middle of her back and green eyes. Her chest is average. Manuel, a man with a serious face and a little more handsome than average, has honey-colored eyes and brown hair.
They are my two assistants. They are mechanical geniuses and can help me build things. I just have to draw some plans and give them to them, and then they can assemble them.
I get up sleepily and walk unsteadily to the door, a strap of my dress slipping off my shoulder.
I open the door while squinting up and say "good morning." I say sleepily and, as I raise my hand, I say, "Breakfast."
They look at each other and then at me, handing me breakfast: some potatoes with boiled eggs and a glass of milk.
I eat breakfast and then invite them in. Today we have to finish inventing the communication network.
After breakfast, I say to Manuel. "We have to finish the communication network in a few days and then install it in the tribe's new location."
I say indifferently, while experimenting with a machine and a motherboard I made with the help of the [Great Sage]. I haven't yet demonstrated the technology to create the motherboard. Because everything has to be done gradually and continuously for better acceptance.
"I understand, boss. You just give the order and we'll execute," Manuel said firmly.
"Yes, boss, just tell us what to do," Olivia said with a cheerful smile.
I nod and then continue working on the [motherboard]. While I tell them. "Your work is on the table in the right corner; it's some plans that explain how to create communication devices."
Manuel and Olivia walk over to the corner table, and he begins to build the walkie-talkies.
Two days later, he finished creating the communication network and was ready to install it.
The communication range between the walkie-talkies is about 16 kilometers, twice as far as normal walkie-talkies on Earth.
The communication network is to intercept all walkie-talkie conversations. After all, you never know when you'll die in the outside world.
In the large space, several people can be seen carrying their luggage to their new homes. Everyone seems quite happy about their new homes.
1 Day Later
In the largest house, in one of the closets, Shiro can be seen sleeping on the floor, curled up in a blanket.
Manuel and Olivia are searching everywhere in the house for Shiro.
"Olivia, you still haven't found the boss," Manuel shouts loudly to Olivia.
"No, I still haven't found her. We've searched everywhere and we can't find her," Olivia says with tiredness in her voice.
"We haven't seen her since yesterday at noon," Olivia said with concern in her voice.
But at that moment, a knocking sound came from the closet.
Manuel and Olivia stared at each other. They walked to the closet and opened the door. They found Shiro sleeping curled up in a blanket on the floor.
"So that's where she was, Boss," Manuel said with relief in his voice.
"Boss, wake up, wake up, it's already very late," Olivia said as she gently shook Shiro by the shoulder.
"5 more minutes," I said in my sleep.
"Boss, if you don't get up, I'm going to eat your breakfast," Olivia said with a playful seriousness in her voice.
"Breakfast, don't eat my breakfast, I'm already awake," I said as I slowly opened my eyes and sat up, still sleepily closing my eyes.
"Breakfast, please," I said, half asleep.
"Not yet, boss, you have to brush your teeth. You said so yourself when you invented toothpaste and toothbrushes. You have to brush your teeth before going to sleep and when you wake up. Those were your exact words, so you can't not do what you said," Manuel said as he picked me up and carried me under his arm to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
'This is quite troublesome, because I have to brush my teeth before breakfast,' I think as I brush my teeth in a daze. 'I don't know, but since I was reincarnated and have Shiro's body, if I fall asleep I'm pretty lazy when I get up.'
Gargle gargle gargle.
I spit into the wooden sink. Sinks made of wood are coated with something similar to resin to prevent them from decaying and make them last longer.
On the dining table.
"Is this breakfast?" I say as I look at the mashed potatoes, a piece of cheese with fresh cow's milk, and a chicken thigh.
"Yes, boss, this is what you like," Olivia said affirmatively.
"Even though I like this breakfast, it's good to change the menu from time to time," I said with a tired voice.
"I'd like to have more breaks from eating, but in this war-torn environment, you can't grow much of anything. Like wheat, fruit, etc.," I thought to myself.
After breakfast, I said, "Afterward, let's install the communications network. We'll go out and test if everything is working." Manuel and Olivia were excited to try out the fruits of their labor.
The installation of the communications network took about a week.
We had to ask the carpenters to create a small, one-story building to house the control center. This is where any chatter and the location of the walkie-talkies would be received.
I walked slowly toward the house of one of the scouts. She knocks twice.
Knock knock.
Just 30 seconds later, a pregnant woman opens the door. She looks down and says, "Oh, boss, what brings you here today? It's almost noon and dinner is almost ready. Come in," the pregnant woman says.
As I walk into the house, I say, "Thanks for the invitation, Selena. I'm here to find Rei, and also to congratulate you on your pregnancy. How many months are you pregnant?" I say calmly, as I walk into the dining room.
"Oh, thanks, boss, for your congratulations. He's only 4 months along. As for Rei, he's in the back of the house putting some things away. If you want, I can go call him," Amy says with a cheerful and excited smile.
"Don't worry, you're pregnant. I could look for him myself. You shouldn't move around too much, and stressing yourself out could harm the baby," I tell Amy as she walks out of the living room and goes to the back door.
I open the back door and see Rei, a hot, red-haired man. Olivia's older brother, packing tools in a small metal box.
Rei notices me and speaks, "Chief, what a surprise to see you in my house, what brings you here?" Rei said with curiosity and joy in her voice.
"I came because I wanted to go out and explore the outside world, to test out my new invention. But it seems you won't be able to because your husband is pregnant." I say with a calm voice.
Rei pauses for a moment and says, "Don't worry, Chief, I can go out and explore without any problem." He says nonchalantly.
"No, you have to stay in the village until May, when your child is at least two years old. The outside world is too dangerous, and you can die at any moment. I'll make a new law in the village: any man who has a pregnant wife and children under two years old cannot go out and explore the outside world. You have to spend more time with your family, because you can die at any moment." I say firmly, without the right to refute.
Rei slumps his shoulders and nods, resigned to my words. "I understand, Chief, so what do I do if I can't get out of the traps anymore?" Rei said, somewhat worried.
"Don't worry. In the meantime, practice the breathing technique I taught you, [Breath of Fire], and work your way up to [Total Control Breathing]." I say to Rei.
"I understand, Chief. Your words are orders." Rei says firmly, with determination in her voice.
"Chief, are you staying for lunch?" Rei asks.
"No, I'll go back to my house to write the new law, but I want you to go to the homes of five scouts and tell them to meet at my house tomorrow morning for an exhibition and testing of long-distance communication equipment." I say to Rei as I walk toward the courtyard exit. "Oh, and congratulations on becoming a dad!" I say as I leave the courtyard.
"Yes, boss, I'll do it right away, and uh, thank you." He says, initially enthusiastically, and finally a little shy and embarrassed.
