Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The man behind the silence

POV: Bunny

The next morning felt like a victory lap. Bunny walked into the office with a confident smile. People who had barely acknowledged her before now gave her nods of approval. Compliments drifted toward her like confetti.

But something was off.

Bunny (thinking):

"Why are people looking at me like that? What are they whispering?"

She reached her desk and found a folded note waiting for her.

> "Meet me in the conference room in 5 minutes. – A"

Bunny (muttering):

"A? Aarav?"

Her heart skipped a beat. Was she in trouble?

---

POV: Aarav

He paced inside the empty conference room, fists clenched. His usual calm demeanor had cracked after reviewing the CCTV footage. He had seen it all—someone deliberately delete Bunny's project.

He had already spoken to HR. Action had been taken. But his anger hadn't simmered down.

The door creaked open. Bunny stepped in, visibly confused.

Bunny:

"You called me?"

Aarav (calmly, but firm):

"Yes. Sit down."

She obeyed, curiosity flickering in her eyes.

Aarav:

"I know what happened yesterday."

Bunny:

"You mean… the project?"

He nodded.

Aarav:

"Someone deleted it on purpose. We found the person. They've been dealt with."

Her eyes widened.

Bunny:

"What? Who was it?"

Aarav (seriously):

"Doesn't matter anymore. Just know I won't let anything like that happen to you again."

There was a pause. The room buzzed with silent tension.

Bunny:

"Why are you so... invested in this?"

Aarav (slightly smirking):

"Let's just say, I don't like it when someone messes with talent. Especially when it's... you."

She felt her cheeks warm up. Before she could respond, there was a knock at the door.

His assistant peeked in.

Assistant:

"Sir, the announcement has been made. Everyone knows now."

Bunny (whispering):

"What announcement?"

Aarav (to Bunny):

"Looks like your spotlight just got brighter. Come on."

---

POV: Entire Office Floor

Murmurs swirled like smoke across the office.

"Did you hear? The CEO personally defended her."

"He never does that for anyone."

"Who is she really?"

---

POV: Bunny

As they stepped out, Bunny's heart pounded. Eyes were on them—again.

Bunny (thinking):

"What is happening? Why do I feel like this man knows too many of my secrets… but I know none of his?"
