Chapter 83 - EP.83 – The Debtless Anomaly

"When one sinless is found, it's an anomaly. When two appear, it's a pattern."

The next anomaly appeared within forty-eight hours.

Jiwoon hadn't even finished processing the first case. Somchai had been placed under Jiwoon's personal protection—hidden away in a warded safehouse, beyond the reach of the standard system. He'd violated protocol doing so. But he didn't care.

Then came the second.

A teenage girl in a collapsed church district. Survivor of a massacre. Her name: Mina Ro.

The scanner returned the same result:

[No karmic debt detected.]

Subject exempt from judgment.

[Classified: Debtless]

Debtless.

Jiwoon clenched his fist. The term hadn't existed in the system before. Yet now it appeared as if it had always been there—like a hidden tag unearthed by an unexpected trigger.

He pulled the records manually. Ten more names appeared. Most were flagged "purged," "untraceable," or worse—"system corrupted."

"They've existed before…" he muttered.

"But the system erased them."

He sat alone in the dark, bathed in the red glow of his interface. The system had always acted as the perfect judge: cold, precise, absolute. But now it was glitching. Rewriting terms. Hiding truths.

He accessed the System Archive — a restricted layer he'd unlocked long ago through sheer power and defiance.

A warning blinked:

[ACCESSING CLASSIFIED LAYER: GOD'S HAND]

You are not authorized. Proceeding will result in contract degradation.

Proceed? [YES]

The data was fragmented. Most files were sealed under command codes labeled:

"Divine Protocol | Origin Core"

"Sin Engine v.0.9"

"Override: Faith-Based Judgment"

Faith-based…? Since when did judgment require belief?

In one corrupted file, a single phrase stood out:

"Debt is the language of obedience."

Jiwoon stared at it.

Obedience?

His breath slowed.

If the system wasn't just judging sin… but training obedience through guilt…

Then what was he really doing?

The next day, three enforcement agents were killed in a border zone. A witness said a man in a black coat marked with the symbol of null sin attacked them, leaving behind only one message carved into the concrete:

"There is no original sin."

Jiwoon read the report.

And smiled for the first time in years.
